DJ Campbell @ Derby County

DJ Campbell has more use than Steve Howard.

yet it's Steve Howard who got picked.

That in of itself shows how many games DJ is going to get here. He's currently our 6th choice striker who is earning 23k a week. Absurd.

Send him out on Loan.

DJ is not really more useful than Howard. That's just false. DJ might be quick, but so is Waghorn and he is a 10x better all-round footballer and more intelligent. End of the day DJ is just cack.

88th minute, we are chasing an equaliser, throwing everything into their box, who do you want to come on as a sub for the last two minute plus stoppage time? DJ or Howard? I know who I want.

neither. DJ would just be offside and the attack would break down whereas if howard went on the ref would give a foul for the little known rule : law 6 section 8 "Steve howard is not allowed to win a header. If he does then referees must give a foul" :P

Would rather he stay personally, I reckon his pace and willingness to play as far up as possible (*cue boring offside jokes*), could have made a difference late on in games like Plymouth instead of resorting to Howard.

How did we get on against Plymouth?

How many goals has DJ scored for us this season when coming on as sub?

When people mention DJ and 'offside' they AREN'T joking.

If he was a regular starter under Bruce then that's even worse, to be honest.

End of the day he isn't better than what we're playing, I trust Pearson and I think if he was worth a run in the side he'd get a run in the side. He's just not a good player.

I'm not determined to think he's a bag of wank and I'm not being stubborn or narrow minded because I don't like him. I really wanted him to be good for us and on occasion I've said, yknow, give him a go. I always get excited when he comes on and I always want it to be a new dawn for him but it never is. He's just cack.

Totally with Finnegan on this.

It isn't DJs fault he was signed on massive wages

But it is his fault that he has done fook all for us this season when given the chance.

It's completely beyond me how people can think that he'll ever do a job for us.

He does not have a footballing brain, he can't hit a cows arse with a banjo, all he has is speed and that does not make you a professional footballer.

NFP has turned this football club around and if he believes )as he obviously does) that DJ is surplus to requirements then perhaps we should accept that he knows more than us.

The sooner Dudley is gone the better

If he was, then why was he given another chance and given a few appearances for the club?

I would love to see these elusive chances :dunno:

If Im correct hasn't he made only 3 appearances as a sub with no more than ten mins on the pitch at a time. You are fickle if you judge a player on that amount of minutes.

Well all know Dj will score there if he goes on loan to them.

I would like to see him on loan there and allowed to play against us, hopefully bag a few and show his doubters what they're missing.

Are you like tapped in the head ore something?

You want him to play against us and bag a few against us?!

co* for one, they don't come much easier than that.

Call me fickle if you want, it doesn't take 10 minutes to make your mind up as to whether or not someone is a football player or not.

If you have the basics the rest can be taught, he doesn't have the basics.

Erm, I'm pretty sure he does, otherwise he wouldn't be with a Ch'ship club.

I respect your view and we obviulsy don't agree but this is a silly point.

If I wanted to be pedantic I could say Fryatt and Kermo were on the pitch for 60 mins without scoring. If it was so easy why did or top scorer fail to score? fook it I'l take it one step further, Howard came on with DJ and failed to score.

I know there is a lot more to it than just saying they failed to score for example Howard's role isin't just to score goals but to hold up the ball but it proves how irelevent your point is

Nigel's clearly not keen and that's plenty good enough for me.

Why is he on the bench then :dunno:

Sorry but it doesn't, Fryatt has scored 40 odd in 60 odd games, Kermogant & Howard can hold up the ball, what does DJ do except rapidly run into the wrong position and then miss.

All players can have the odd poor games but still be decent players.

DJ can have the odd decent game (and I'm struggling to think of one) and he'll still be a poor player.

And the reason he is on the bench was perhaps because Taggart said he'd applied himself well and he was scoring for fun in the stiffs.

Ever heard of Mark Bright?

He could also be making the bench in the hope that someone will take a punt on him.

I put DJ in the same category as Elvis and Benjamin, athletes not footballers

Like I said I respect your opinion but I'm sorry I still disagree.

I'm going to leave it there on the subject as I would just be repeating what I've written in reply to Finnegan. :)

Hope he doesn't go because I reckon he'd be the prefect foil for Hulse, and Derby might start winning. :/ And of course I still think he's of use to us.

What I don't get with these managers like Clough and Kevin Blackwell, is that they'll happily loan out perfectly good players to divisional rivals (and even pay their wages to score goals for other teams!!!), yet they'll still moan about injuries. Derby have loaned Varney to Sheff Weds, and Sheff Utd have loaned Sharp to Doncaster, where they're both scoring and picking up man of the match awards. Baffling really.

Are you sure of that?

I could imagine a 50/50 deal but I doubt they will paying the full amount unless loaning to the lower leagues. :dunno:

Stuart Turner (Quorn FC chairman) acts as an agent to Luke Varney and he told us the other week at a Quorn game that Derby are paying virtually all of Luke's wages, so on that example I am sure. EDIT: Luke was at that Quorn game too but didn't speak to him.

Could be wrong about Sharp but I reckon Sheff Utd are paying a fair chunk of his wages, they're stronger financially than Doncaster.

Ok fair enough. Seems a silly move by Derby but hey I'm not going to complain.
