bigneville Posted 30 December 2009 Posted 30 December 2009 I doubt that very much You not think Derby are paying at least half his wages?
Shrenchel Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Peterborough had both their centre backs sent off for fvcks sake. You'd be hard pushed not to bang in one or two.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 The main reason anyone wants Campbell recalled is because his name sounds faintly like TJ Hooker and he looks like he should be a maverick detective in New York. That's my reasoning anyway.
Jimmy Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 glad he keeps scoring, hopefully it convinces someone to take 1 of our highest paid players from us and frees up some money for Nige
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Even before the sendings off DJ looked very good and was always going to score. Believe me I was there.
maddog Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 Always makes NP look bad when loan players score while we lose without a goal. And it's happened again today
Thracian Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I've never understood why he was ever loaned out in the first place or why he has been such an outcast at Leicester. Given the limited choices we have and our sad lack of a prolific support striker for Fryatt, the situation is even more farcical than failing to utilise Gradel in any way. DJ has all the pace and impishness that our side is so sadly lacking and it's utter nonsense to imagine the likes of Gallagher or Kermorgant are going to deliver the goals return that DJ could deliver given a genuine run in the side and the proper all-round support and encouragement that all strikers need. What did Pearson give DJ in the team? Nothing but token gesture appearances and even then he threatened to score despite being so obviously ring rusty. Why the hell we've failed to develop Waghorn/DJ as our main second half strike force at the very least I don't know. People talk about having faith in our manager but we had one shot today. I cannot imagine Waghorn and DJ ever completing a game against anyone for a return of one shot. Especially if helped by proper wingers like Dyer and Gradel with King and Wellens providing back-up. Okay we might be a little more vulnerable at the back which is all the more reason to use the open transfer window to bring in some fast, mobile defenders who can pass the ball quickly and to feet. Cos we're going nowhere scoring one's and nils.
Daggers Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I cannot imagine...DJ ever completing a game against anyone for a return of one shot. Especially if helped by proper wingers like Dyer and Gradel with King and Wellens providing back-up. That's exactly what he had against Newcastle - one shot.
CKB Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 I guess everyone is calling for him to be recalled? he scores 2 goals against a relegation threatened Posh who have 9 players on the pitch and everyone probs is saying RECALL HIM! HE'S OUR SAVIOUR!
Thracian Posted 16 January 2010 Posted 16 January 2010 That's exactly what he had against Newcastle - one shot. In how many minutes? And how many other minutes through the whole season - and the last one? If aid for Haiti is wasted like DJ's talents since he's been at Leicester, there'll be uproar. Some might not accept it yet but we're functioning like a blocked drain. If the goal's the hole there's damn all getting through cos there's no flow. There has to be movement.

Whichever it is, both are wise suggestions as I've never seen him play a decent game. Oh, Campbell had 92 minutes on the pitch: One foul, one cross, one offside and one shot. Piss poor. Campbell's only the answer if it's a soup-based question.

"The answer" would have been to sign a fast, proven scorer in the first place and made sure we gave him some support and service.
Head Honcho Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 It's a complete waste of time arguing about Campbell. I don't know how much of his wages Derby are paying but it's obviously enough to enable us to keep Waghorn and McGivern here until the end of the season and I have no doubt that if money was no object then NP would keep im in the sqaud. In my opinion his lack of opportunity here is simply due to the fact that if he was to start banging them in then Pearson would find it more difficult to offload him. It's not Campbell that's the problem it's his wages.

You are suggesting we don't play him in case he is too good and we can not afford him even though we bought him. You must have too much time on your hands to come up with that. Perhaps you can explain why he was still with us when we signed the 2 on loan in the first place?
Sir Alex Ferguson Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 surely it's time Pearson had to recall DJ from Derby, he's scored goals at derby and blackpool in two loan spells, surely he would score for leicester if pearson gave him a run a in the side. Leicester have better players midfield players to create goals than both derby and blackpool in my opinion, if he was to be given a run in the leicester side he would score a few goals!
joely22 Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 From my understanding, if we can get James Vaughan back at our place come the end of Jan then DJ will be back with you anyway. Apparently has an attitude problem as well so you'll have your 'saviour' back within a couple of weeks. And save you from what can I ask? 7th in the league, just come up from League 1? I'd understand if our positions were reversed but get real.
Babylon Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 And save you from what can I ask? 7th in the league, just come up from League 1? I'd understand if our positions were reversed but get real. Unfortunately Leicester fans seem to have obtained delusions of grandeur on the scale of Forests in recent years. We also have more than our fair share of know it all couch managers, who like to talk a good game, but ultimately would look like a fooking pillock if they were ever put in charge of a team and would find out there's a bit more to it than talk. "Attack on mass, pass the ball to each other, score 15 and concede none in the process" Not sure why so many managers get sacked when it's so easy!!

Because we have a divine right to be top of this league regardless of how little money we've spent or how average our squad is compared with other teams in the division. We're the Coca-Cola Cup winners 1997 for ****s sake. And yeah, his attitude is shit and would be even worse here. People that beg for him back like he's going to suck them off or something, are in general fvcking ******.
Sir Alex Ferguson Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 not going over the top about DJ and i'm not saying he's leicester's 'saviour' , just think we would be better off with him than without surely, when you see he scoring goals for a struggling championship team...
Jimmy Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 if he's not going to be playing then no we aren't we saw his attitude in that situation last season, we are far better off loaning him out and losing at least some of his wages if we can't sell him outright
Sir Alex Ferguson Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 He should play. we are struggling to score goals! and he's scoring for other teams, if we aren't going to go in to the transfer market we have to use what options we have.
