Mickey O'Neil Posted 20 January 2010 Posted 20 January 2010 We could sign Rooney...doen't mean he'd score many for us though. It's all "if's & but's" where this conversation is concerned, we need to get over the fact that he's 'banging them in' for other teams. Campbell doesn't work well in LCFC...whether that's due to his attitude, clash of personalities with NP, playing styles or whatever. Get shot & free up the wage bill quite a bit. Simples.
FleckneyFox Posted 20 January 2010 Posted 20 January 2010 Im sure hes been mis-quoted again and really wants to be here.
lou Posted 21 January 2010 Posted 21 January 2010 Whoever is to blame, it's time to move on and consign Campbell to the history books of LCFC. .
goose2010 Posted 21 January 2010 Posted 21 January 2010 clough has said that he wants him for the rest of the season today, i dont think that would be a bad thing really
Thracian Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Campbell doesn't work well in LCFC...whether that's due to his attitude, clash of personalities with NP, playing styles or whatever. Get shot & free up the wage bill quite a bit. Much as I rate the guy I agree completely. The chemistry has probably never been right and once a bloke wants out of a club you might as well let him go. Besides he's much too quick for us.
Jimmy Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Derby fan told me today he said on Radio Derby he doesn't want to play for us? wonder if he's been taken out of context again
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 BBC Derby's Nigel Clough waits on Leicester's DJ Campbell Derby County boss Nigel Clough hopes to sign on-loan Leicester City striker DJ Campbell until the end of the season. But Clough says the Foxes are keen to see if they will be able to sell the 28-year-old forward before agreeing to an extended loan stint at Pride Park. "It will go until the end of the week or after the weekend. Their preference is a permanent deal so they'll give it every chance," he told BBC Radio Derby. "If not we will be pursuing it - maybe a loan until the end of the season." But Clough ruled out a permanent move and said any loan deal would still need to be finalised with Campbell. He added: "We would certainly like to do a loan until the end of the season but not a permanent deal at this stage."
Thracian Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 BBCDerby's Nigel Clough waits on Leicester's DJ Campbell Blackpool would certainly have liked to sign him and now Derby. What is it with Leicester? Strikers too prolific? The sooner the sorry saga ends the better.
Craig Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Blackpool would certainly have liked to sign him and now Derby. What is it with Leicester? Strikers too prolific? The sooner the sorry saga ends the better. Maybe it's got something to do with him being a ****? No?
Babylon Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Blackpool would certainly have liked to sign him and now Derby. What is it with Leicester? Strikers too prolific? The sooner the sorry saga ends the better. I'd wager Blackpool and Derby would also want to sign Fryatt, Howard, Gallagher and Wagorn given half the chance.
lcfcsnow Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Maybe it's got something to do with him being a ****? No? Like alot of footballers then? Surely it's upto the manager to try and work with different personalities.
Thracian Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I'd wager Blackpool and Derby would also want to sign Fryatt, Howard, Gallagher and Wagorn given half the chance. I'd rather let them speak for themselves on that one. Goals between the last three this season?
Bluefoxtim Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I'd rather we concentrated on the players currently playing for Leicester. Fook Campbell and Grar-dell.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I think it's a good thing we're trying to offload him on a permanent deal now before agreeing for him to go back on loan... The sooner he's off our books the better as he's been shite here and doesn't deserve to be paid a penny by us.
MC Prussian Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 I'd rather let them speak for themselves on that one. Goals between the last three this season? I don't recall Campbell having been played out of position for the majority of his matches in the LCFC shirt like Gallagher or being limited in played minutes as Howard is...
suffolk fox Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 The problem is when he was signed he was given a ridiculous contract. Although it is clear we need to sell in order to free up some funds I fear until his contract runs out we will be stuck with him. Blackpool and Derby both want him but neither can afford his wage demands. It's catch 22, we're stuck with a player we don't want, Campbell knows he is getting silly money for not even playing for us! Who do you blame? Allen, Mandaric, Pearson? For as long as Campbell has a hole in his butt he won't play for us as long as Nigel Pearson is in charge!
DanTheFox07 Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 fook derby, we need to get this guy off the wage bill im bored of people talking about him and we should play him, get rid!!!! the sooner we get him off our wage bill the sooner we can look at getting a striker in his place! does us a favour campbell and drop ur wage demands and sign for derby You goon!

foxoffderby Posted 26 January 2010 Posted 26 January 2010 Spoke to 4 Derby fans today, the news is as all ready stated Derby can not afford a permo transfer. They want DJ on loan until the end of the season with a view to a move if he plays ok. City have refused this and want a transfer on a permenent basis now or hes coming back to Leicester. The only way Derby will sign him is if they sell Hulse before Monday, otherwise no deal. Maybe he will play well for Derby and another Championship club will come in for him thats the best we can hope for im affraid.
