Fox92 Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 What does it make him, an aids ridden circus pigeon? Whats one of those?
Ozwin Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 Why did Derby loan Varney in the first place? He's a decent striker, always has been plus Derby have striker troubles as it is.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 Why did Derby loan Varney in the first place? He's a decent striker, always has been plus Derby have striker troubles as it is. Only Nigel Clough knows why. Apparently Clough just completely ignored Varney and made him train with the kids before Varney got the move, he definitely wants the move made permanent because he likes it at Sheff Weds and he likes Brian Laws.
Jimmy Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 do we really have enough strikers to be loaning another out, given that Gally is being used in midfield
breadandcheesebrother Posted 24 November 2009 Posted 24 November 2009 Derby boss Nigel Clough hopes to clinch a deal for Leicester City striker DJ Campbell today - despite a late bid by Sheffield Wednesday. Clough is haggling over how much the Rams will pay to the Foxes for Campbell's wages during his loan spell, with the Owls coming into the race to complicate the picture. Campbell is keen to move across the Midlands and is waiting to sign before the deadline for 'emergency deals' runs out tomorrow - and Derby are confident their offer will be good enough. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Derby...icle231761.html
Fox You Forest Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 do we really have enough strikers to be loaning another out, given that Gally is being used in midfield Does that mean he can't be used up front if needed then? Fryatt, Yann, Waggy, Howard and Gally with maybe N'Guessan if needs be, I'd say we're covered. He could also be lining somebody up.
Ozwin Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 We should try and get Varney tbh, I think he's quality.

Finnegan Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Erm, I'm pretty sure he does, otherwise he wouldn't be with a Ch'ship club.
dandannieldanok Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 We should try and get Varney tbh, I think he's quality. Pretty unlikely given how well we're doing but you never know, stranger things have happened. There are doubts over whether Sheff Weds can afford to make it a permanent deal. One thing for sure is that he won't be staying at Derby unless Clough has a personality transplant or get's the sack.
StanSP Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Sheff Weds in the running too it seems. I think it would be better to sell him for a considerable amount (I'm sure Mandy and Pearson can work their magic ) rather than loan him out. If we loan him out, it's most likely we'll still have to pay some of his wages, whereas if he was sold, he would be off our wagebook completely.
Spiritwalker Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Why are we haggling over DJ's wages? If Derby want him then either buy him or loan him and pay all his wages. Why should we subsidise our rivals attempt to avoid relegation it does not make sense.
Edmund Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Oh dear Finnegan. At least before you made some good points but this is just desperate. The fact that two championship clubs are in for him says it all not forgetting that he scored goals at Blackpool and Birmingham. You seriously aren't comparing him to the above are you? I don't know what you've got against the man

I don't know what you've got against the man The fact that Derby took Dickov off us and have Savage for captain says a lot for their standards He scored a few goals at Blackpool but I thought a few of those were pens? Could be wrong... anyway good luck to him

lou Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 Goals are goals though surely, no matter how a player gets them? The point is... as Im sure you know full well, is that a penalty taker is going to get more goals than someone who doesnt (unless their a shite penno taker) it doesnt make them an ace striker. Scoring a pen isnt quite on the same scale as scoring from active play is it?
Craig Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 IanStringerBBCDJ Cambell "very close" to signing on loan with Derby County - according to Nigel Clough. Until Xmas initially I believe. 4 minutes ago from UberTwitter Obviously Stringers Twitter isn't the most reliable of sources, but nevertheless...

The fact that two championship clubs are in for him says it all not forgetting that he scored goals at Blackpool and Birmingham. You seriously aren't comparing him to the above are you? I don't know what you've got against the man I think you misunderstood me. I was purely responding to FoxForever's claim that the mere fact alone that someone was playing for a Championship club made them a competant footballer. I'm well aware he's not THAT bad. Although to be fair, I challenge you to tell me what exactly he's done for Leicester that Hammond didn't.

Scoring a pen isnt quite on the same scale as scoring from active play is it? Not the all Djs goals were penos debate again He scored 9 at Blackpool, only 4 were pens. Thats less than half And at least Campbell scored all his pens there, Fryatt missed last time.
ob1kanobe0 Posted 25 November 2009 Posted 25 November 2009 DJ Cambell to Derby?, Another Mirror rumour Which other rumour does it mirror First Dickov, now Campbell, hopefully he'll want Howard next
