Guest Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 If he "earned" it, it can't have been completely undeserved, can it? I think you're right though, it was their keeper who had the biggest impact on the game. I've earned wages on days when I've hardly done anything, so I could argue that earning and deserving something are two very different things
lee7 Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 I'm pretty sure we had shots on target and tried to get forward after we scored. ok then, tried to defend a 1-0 lead for 45 minutes.
savedave Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Also the side stand was clearly the place to be. Coincidence that we created the atmosphere stood up? Agree there, the whole of the right side stood for 90mins. The array of Wayne Brown appreciation songs was entertaining.. I think, on balance, a draw was probably a fair result in what was a game of few chances. Neither side were particularly threatening but i thought we'd have the quality to see the game out.
Guest ttfn Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Scunny view: Murphy was outstanding and kept us in the game with 3 or 4 world class saves. All game our defence looked shakey, Williams had a reasonable game, Jones grew with confidence as the game went on, Mirfin got a knock early on so that made him be rather cagey, Byrne was Byrne..Wright played reasonably well but had to keep coming deep to find the ball, Togwell wasn't ever in the game, McCann played terrible and was lucky to play a full game, O'connor was quiet for him.. Hayes couldn't do a thing right and rightly got substituted, Hooper was isolated and lacked service.. When Wooly he caused problems and took his goal well, Thompson came on he looked raring to go and won every header and looked really up for it.. We had two shots all match, one went in, personally i didn't think we deserved a draw but i'll take anything at the moment, Leicester looked sharp and direct all match, and the ref was terrible.. Hope that helped
Jiggers the Fox Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 On the train ack now, naturally very disappointed to concede so late but you can't begrudge them the point, no way did we do enough to get the win. Will completely forget this result if we win next week.Waghorn was our best player and whilst the changes needed doing, Gallagher really should have made way instead. Also the side stand was clearly the place to be. Coincidence that we created the atmosphere stood up? Abso-fooking-lutely! so glad i was there instead of behind the goal
lavrentis Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Abso-fooking-lutely! so glad i was there instead of behind the goal Aye same, was like that last season too.
Fox92 Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 We didn't take our chances again, although we were better than S****horpe. Their goalkeeper though, Joe Murphey, perhaps the best goalkeeper in the division. Loved him for some years now, wish we had him.

Fox92 Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 We don't need a keeper though. A back-up maybe. If we ever needed a goalkeeper, the first port of call would be S****horpe and Joe Murphy. (Plus, Weale still has a lot to prove with me )
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Very disappointing. We dominated the first half and we should have been out of sight by the 2nd half. Then when we needed wingers on around the hour mark we bring on Howard and N'Guessan far too late then play N'Guessan up front! If we were going to bring on subs late we should have brought on defensive playersr to see it out. The bottom line is we dont score enough and this is a major problem for us, and needs to be addressed. EDIT: Also why the hell didnt we get the ball up and try and shoot when Murphy went up for that corner? Even if it hadnt gone in the ball would be up the other end of the pitch and wasted time.
Asha Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Disappointing not to win, but there you go. Nothing we can do now but beat the Forest. Really enjoyed being dragged to the ground in celebration by a complete randomer. That's what football is about.
Fox You Forest Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 I'd feel grim as fuck if I had travelled to Scunny, paid for ticket/travel/food and had to endure that in the cold. I don't. Yeah I'm absolutely gutted that they scored with the last kick of the match, still a cracking day out. I also feel honoured as I met Thrac at half time.

ousefox Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Absolutely gutted. We literally had to see it out for ten more seconds but thats how football goes. We were all over them in the first half but we just couldnt take our chances, although i was very impressed with their keeper. Fantastic save from Kermo's header. Altogether i had a good day, but that could have been so much better if i wasn't stuck behind a massive pole and we hadnt conceded in the last minute. EDIT: THE REF WAS SHITE

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 God i hope so. If we had won today, I'd take a draw next week, but now I have this feeling we will lose easily. But then knowing us we will win 3-0 and all the talk of not scoring will be gone.
C-man Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Shame we couldn't graft for another 5 seconds but thems the breaks. Onwards and upwards, Forest next week, 3rd vs 4th. Can't wait already.
Shrenchel Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 ok,this was not about poor defending, for 92 minutes we were rock solid, and even then the goal was kind of a freak goal. this was not about the ref, tho he gave them a lot and could easily have red carded one of their players this was not about the subs and this was definately not about the strikers - their keeper made two top class saves ...scunny maybe low in the league but they had the fourth best home record, and played some lovely pass and move footy in the midfield, only their poor final ball and our resolute defending kept it at 0-1 for so long. they were, IMO the better footballing side. this was about us scoring early and sitting back just trying to play on the counter. this was about scunny's decent home midfield overwhelming what turned into something akin to a 4-2-2-2 formation for us. for 90 minutes after we scored, we did what plymouth did last week, put 10 men behind the ball, and they did what we did last week, they eventually had a bit of luck and sneaked a late goal. it feels weird, i should be gutted, but i feel like we picked up a point in a game we deserved nothing more from.... This plus Waghorn is a hero. On the train ack now, naturally very disappointed to concede so late but you can't begrudge them the point, no way did we do enough to get the win. Will completely forget this result if we win next week.Waghorn was our best player and whilst the changes needed doing, Gallagher really should have made way instead. Also the side stand was clearly the place to be. Coincidence that we created the atmosphere stood up? The left block of the main stand all stood as well and was pretty good time at times. Could've been well decent if the lot in the middle hadn't all sat on their hands and Scunny's singing section didn't all still believe in Father Christmas.
wacky Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Seriously those substitutions, what the fook was he thinking. We needed some composure on the ball someone who can pass and keep posession slow the game down and see out the win. Surely we were crying out for Oakley to come on for either Kermit, Gallagher, Waghorn or Fryatt (probably Fryatt but that's not important) the other choice would be to bring on Morrison in place of one of our attacking players to sure us up defensively, either as a 3rd centre back or to play in front of the back 4. Or bring on Morrison or Mcgivern to sure us up on the flanks alongside Neilson and Berner. This is not the first time I have wondered about NPs substsitutions, and I feel bad questioning anything he does, because he has been a revelation for this club, and is still relatively new to management but surely it was obvious that our problem was we couldn't keep hold of the ball in the last half an hour and how he thought Howard or DNG were going to solve that is beyond me. I could see that goal coming and it was a lucky goal for them but we should never have let them build up that much pressure. (I still love you Nige) First thing first, scunny fans were shite & ours in the stands were 1st class even thou i was in the corner on the right hand side behind the goal!! Well done boys Right, now about the game. We got all that we deserved with the 2nd half performance. The comments above were spot on, we needed some composure on the ball & players to chase the ball down. With Howard & DNG coming on i don't think so!! Sorry folks but again our performance didn't match up to the our 3rd place spot. Waggy, Brown & Kermit played well in my eyes & the others were ordinary against a poor scunny side. Come on lads lets forget today & be focused for next week to beat the forest tossers!!!!!!

maddog Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Fooking hell last minute Another draw to add to our huge set of draws that we should have won, and 2 more points added to the should have got total. Gutted. Seen the goal we conceded on news aswell, awful defending we had so many chances to clear So unlucky.
