Bert Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 There was a live stream online, the link for which was kindly posted on here in several places, meaning those who didn't go still got to see the entire game. What has Barnsley got to do with us? Are you saying we should suspend our disappointment because another team had something worse happen to them? Some mistakes were made yesterday. There is a difference between critical analysis of a game and moaning and it helps to recognise errors when they are made so that they can be avoided in the future. My point was. They were FOUR one up with just 30 minutes remaining after a 6 hour journey down to Plymouth, and back up to Barnsley. They've not got to replay the game on a week night, with the score at 0-0. That, is not fair. Especially when the officials gave no indication that the abandonment was imminent. We've let a last minute goal in and people are moaning like it's the end of the world. It was different last week when wewere on the right end of it. Don't get me wrong it's fucking annoying, but it's football and it happens. The way we set out in the second half meant we only have ourselves to blame. Scunthorpe were absolute turd and were there for the taking.

Fans who weren't at the game have the right to say what they want. We've seen their goal and it was sloppy defending, we should have cleared it. Nobody has moaned like it's the end of the world. Your moaning like it's the end of the world about the moaners moaning about conceding a last minute goal. Stop that.

But everyone knows you get a clearer picture at the game than you do on an Internet stream. You don't see things on the stream that you do at the game. Not that you'd know, because you're a pathetic little part timer who only goes to the local away games. Oh and don't ever tell me what to do. If you had half a decent opinion or didn't chat the most utter shit at times, I may listen to you. Good effort though.

It should never be a bad thing to discuss possible areas of improvement, even if our discussions ultimately have little impact on what actually happens. It was a sloppy goal that could easily have been prevented with a little more composure and common sense. It also clearly highlights the consequences of not taking chances when they arrive. I don't know why the Barnsley game has anything to do with ours. We shouldn't be less disappointed with sloppy defending simply because another team had a worse day than us. Football doesn't work like that. I also don't know what our late goal last week against Plymouth has to do with it. We should be less disappointed or less critical of our own poor defending this week because Plymouth's defence switched off in stoppage time last week?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 I've been to one game this season.
lou Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 I was at the game... Im gutted but Im still happy at our position and would hope we will learn from yesterday. The officials were WOEFUL and pandered to every little whinge the Scunny players made while they were allowed to commit GBH on our players with little consequence. Their keeper made some fine saves and I was extremely happy with Kermogant and Waghorn, but it was just a poor second half from us and it happens. I think most of us who were there expected the goal to come... I know the folks round me did! Cant understand why Dany came on and played up front instead of swapping positions with Gally? Oh and didnt think he needed to bring Howard on as Kermo was winning everything all game anyway and far better than Howard. Never mind were 3rd and next Saturday should be good....... 3rd against 4th! PS lmao @ Scunnys "Firm" of 7 year olds giving us grief on the left hand side
Matt Posted 29 November 2009 Posted 29 November 2009 I've been to one game this season. You're a rubbish fan!
marbelladave Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 People wake up and smell the coffee!!!Everyone on here is forgetting that S****horpes home record is pretty good. They have beaten NEWCASTLE at home for gords sake and they rarely lose at home. Technically they are the Burnley of the Championship useless away but pretty good at home. A point away is a good result, as we all know win your home games, pick up a point on away games and that is play off places at least........Be honest folks, We are not going to get automatic promotion with WBA and NEWCASTLE in this league. They are both Prem teams and deserve to be 1st and 2nd. We all would have taken this start at the beginning of the season. It's funny really cos a lot of you are slagging our midfield yesterday. Everytime Sky went to Peter Begrie he was sayinghow good we were mentioning, the midfield of King, Wellens being outstanding. Wayne Brown got praise for being immense in attack. Are people watching a different game to the tv pundits? Ok we conceded a late goal which changed the whole complexion of the game. But thats football. A point is a point away from home and from what I saw on the tv last night we dominated the whole match. Oh Marbella Dave get a life for foooks sake............Your constant criticism of the team, tatics and general bemoaning of City really is fooking tiresome!!!! Sorry to take a while getting back to you, but something called life has been keeping me busy all day! I guess driving 250 miles to watch my team play is God's way of telling me that I have too much time on my hands, but at least no one can tell me 'I need to get out more'. I go to most of our games (better than 2 in 3 anyway) and post my views for the benefit of those who can't make it, take it or leave it as you will. Suffolk Fox look away now, this is the tatics (sic) bit. I have found the last two games very annoying, against weak opposition we have fallen back onto the long ball game, even going so far as to alter our set up to accommodate this tactic by the addition of two 'support' strikers. Going forward we bypass midfield, reducing King and Wellens to the role of auxiliary defenders and simply hit long balls forward in the hope that one of our 4 strikers will get on the end of something or pick up the second ball. In two games, over 180 minutes of football this tactic created barely half a dozen chances, most of them no more than half chances and just the one goal. For a team looking to be in the playoffs this is simply not good enough. On Saturday S****horpe defended with numbers and even though we had four men forward they easily out numbered us and limited us to two, maybe three chances, a fluff from Fryatt and two good saves from Murphy. Worse still was the fact that we had no alternative idea of how to break them down, particularly in the first half when we had loads of possession and a second goal would have settled the game. After the break Gallagher and Kermorgant hardly got forward which left Fryatt and Waghorn isolated but we continued to hit long balls which just gave possession back to the opposition. Playing this way is pretty much a lottery, last week we won, this week we did not. We are too good a team to continue relying on luck in this way.
Number 6 Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 I haven't read all of the previous posts so I apologise if I repeat anything. My tickets for the match didn't arrive in the post but credit to the club for sorting out some reissues which travelled on the bus and were at the ticket office for me to collect when I got there. Right, the match. We appeared to be the far better team throughout the first half. Dominated possession and had enough chances to be out of sight. Second half I felt we had no urgency, no massive desire to get the second and just resulted to long balls down the right. I really hate strikers on the wing, we know what this has done to us in the past. The greater picture obviously is that we are third and therefore I feel like I maybe shouldn't question Nige, but when you have wingers on the bench why choose to play strikers on the wing? (Although N'Guessan was awful when he came on). Standout performance was probably their keeper, but from our side I would say Brown looked solid ("Wayne Brown...he lost your f**king ball"). It's obviously was a kick in the teeth but we had been letting Scunny attack for long parts of the second half and seems to have the attitude that we didn't really need a second, any changes made were in the end left too late. A downer was also the disappearance of the free bus from the station which meant a long walk there. Got slightly lost on the way back and asked a Scunny couple for directions, they went one better and drove us to the station. So many thanks to them! Still a fairly good day!
lcfc_jme Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 "We've got one Yann bigger than your ground". Impressed with him at Scunny, the header had immense power and his first touch was pretty fcking good. Play him up top, though.

That seemed to have changed to 'one stand' by the time it had got behind the goal It did start as "one stand" in the side stand.. But Yann did something useful at the same time, so just changed it to "one Yann" to be different. Should've caught on. Disappointed.

Calling me a part-timer what a joke.

Calling me a part-timer what a joke. You, are a joke. Reason 1: You still have "Edgar FOOKING Davids" under your avatar. He's not coming to us, and never will. Reason 2: I've never ever stated or thought that I'm "Bigger and better than everyone else" because I know I am not. Reason 3: Your spelling and grammar is appalling. Sheffield United and Watford away are not exactly a trip to Plymouth. Both easily do-able in under an hour and a half. Preston away was in the school holidays pal, so that's why your mummy let you go. Just so you know, there's plenty of people on here who don't go to games as much as I may do, or whatever other daft reason you think I'm a "snobbish fan" for, whose opinions I respect, and that's because they think about what they're saying.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 This is an absolutely pathetic argument, sort yourselves out! We're all fans here...

Whats wrong with my spelling All of my post are perfectly worded clearly, it's not a fooking English exam. I'm not sad enough to want to change my avatar on a regular basis. Everything you've said is implying you think your bigger and better than everyone else. Your blatantly a snobbish fan or you wouldn't have said you couldn't be arsed to read the first two pages of this thread because of the moaners moaning who weren't at the game. Which was a needless and pointless thing to post. Sheffield, Watford and Preston aren't local at all. Your just so great Bert the only Leicester fan that matters, without you the club wouldn't even exist, well done.
Ozwin Posted 30 November 2009 Posted 30 November 2009 To be fair bashing someone for not travelling far enough for away games isn't cool. No need for that tbh, not everyone can afford it for a start. Does seem a bit snobbish.
