Father Ted Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 It's an interesting topic that has popped up in the past. Club for me
Samilktray Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Fuck Leicester. Much rather win the World Cup and bring the whole country together.
Corky Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Club for me, but country is still important. I'd love to see England win a major trophy.
DB11 Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 I'd rather Leicester win a league game than England win a trophy Couldn't care less about England.
Finnegan Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 I'd rather Leicester win a league game than England win a trophy Couldn't care less about England. Time and time again attitudes like this both sadden and baffle me. I'm not saying everyone should care more about their country than their club - but to be utterly detached from the international side? Kinda sad really.

Kinda sad really. Agreed. It's a totally artificial debate anyway. 43 years of England failure haven't brought our club a wealth of success either.
Tommeh Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Club all the way bar 2 months every 2 years. As soon as this season finishes with city it'll be ALL about England till July.
davieG Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Why do we keep being asked to choose they're not mutually exclusive I want both to do well.
Webbo Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Why do we keep being asked to choose they're not mutually exclusive I want both to do well. It's a way of pretending that we're more important than we are. As if we're sweating on a player's fitness coming back from international duty just in case it affects our champions league campaign.
lou Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Why do we keep being asked to choose they're not mutually exclusive I want both to do well. You people make me sick! You come on ere and start making sensible posts like that! disabled!
Fosse Boy Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 City > England Time and time again attitudes like this both sadden and baffle me.I'm not saying everyone should care more about their country than their club - but to be utterly detached from the international side? Kinda sad really. Maybe it's just the case that some people don't feel all that attached to a national identity in general? If that's the case, why would they be bothered?
Jordan Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 My life stops for two hours when the U.S. national team plays. Unfortunately, there's always the risk that my heart will stop for those two hours, too, but I cannot think of anything in professional sports more worthy of my attention than my country's national team playing what is easily the most popular thing in the world (besides breathing). Also, as a bonus, I'm very proud that our national team reflects the ethnic and social diversity of our country.
Fox92 Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Club. Although, obviosuley I like England, want them to win and want them to win a major trophey, I think club. I think I am detached from England, I wouldn't be able to tell you who they are playing next and if it is a friendly or not. Where as, Leicester...
Sparky Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Love both and wont ever have to choose between the two
Tilley Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 Imagine being stood belting out the national anthem with three lines on your chest before a match.... ... now compare that to walking out to the post horn gallop in front of 20,000. Country everytime.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 When England are playing I wil support them just like I support leicester but I don't quite get the same fell, probably because I see Leicester almost every week whilst I only see England on TV every couple of months or so. I lost a fair bit of interest in England under McClaren but now feel more into it again and I am looking forward to the World Cup. I also don't feel the FA want to us to watch England otherwise every game would be on normal TV rather than SKY or ESPN. Always support England as much as the next man but it feels nothing compared to Leicester.

Fox92 Posted 6 December 2009 Posted 6 December 2009 So Forest then? I support Leicester. I have a season ticket. I try and go to the away matches. I have soft spots for Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and West Ham. I want Leicester to finish above Forest every season, but I like to see Forest doing well. Really, whats wrong with that?

Uncle Albert Posted 7 December 2009 Posted 7 December 2009 Country for me - England winning the World Cup or European Championships is bigger to me. I support Leicester.I have a season ticket. I try and go to the away matches. I have soft spots for Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and West Ham. I want Leicester to finish above Forest every season, but I like to see Forest doing well. Really, whats wrong with that? No nothing is wrong with it - AFiE seems to forget he bum's that FC United of Manchester or any German team.
