haraven Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 Was looking for stuff on google, especially what our old 90s heroes are doing, and came over this on Andy Impey; http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=43908477542 Loved his wonderpass that created Muzzy's fantastic wondergoal vs Grimsby Town He was a versatile fellow, could play in lots of positions. The bad part of that fan group is of course of him in a Sherwood-shirt.
haraven Posted 17 January 2010 Author Posted 17 January 2010 Best player we ever had without a neck! True, I actually forgot about that - but that was quite the talk whenever we were in a pub and opposing team's fans noticed Andy playing his game.
Jon the Hat Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 I think it was Impey who when he signed was interviewed outside the Carling Stand and when asked what he thought of his new club glanced backwards at the stand and said "yeah it looks alright". Class.
Scow Posted 17 January 2010 Posted 17 January 2010 I remember a splendid and tremendous Andy Impey hoof setting up Marshall for a winner at Anfield in the last minute.
Collymore Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember him scoring and then giving some woman a kiss in the crowd at filbo street!
Daggers Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember him scoring and then giving some woman a kiss in the crowd at filbo street! That's when I decided to get my hair cut.
MikeyT Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 The fear in Beckham's eyes. Beckham could only ever dream of being as good as the mighty Impey was.
Fosse Boy Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 One of the most underrated assets of the O'Neill generation I reckon. Impey+Guppy=Wing Back pairing from heaven.
Corky Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I remember him scoring and then giving some woman a kiss in the crowd at filbo street! Yeah, against Middlesbrough I think. A good player for us, had a decent cross.
jonthefox Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 i was going to join the group , but the forest shirt put me off.
Kilworthfox Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 i was going to join the group , but the forest shirt put me off. I thought he was shit Would have him ATM though
haraven Posted 18 January 2010 Author Posted 18 January 2010 I thought he was shit Would have him ATM though I beg to differ, Impey was great for us in my opinion - he created a lot of chances, and he was hard to get by. He wasn't the fastest player, but somehow managed to get the ball with him - and you could never blame his effort.
midfield Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 decent player in my opinion fitted in well not many got past him hail andy impey the ganster meant gangster
Cobbo Posted 18 January 2010 Posted 18 January 2010 I thought he was shit Would have him ATM though Why? Part of one of the best Leicester sides ever. Under rated is spot on, Bert.
lou Posted 21 January 2010 Posted 21 January 2010 Under-rated. Why?Part of one of the best Leicester sides ever. Under rated is spot on, Bert. Agreed, was one of my favourites of that era and was massively under-rated IMO. Just got on with the job without fuss and was effective in doing so. Would piss all over what we have now in all honesty.

Agreed, people forget he played for us when we were in the Premiership and doing rather well. Defo under rated amd didn't he set up Izzet for his tap in at Grimsby ?
