Dylan Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 We've got 7 fixtures in February, and it will be a crucial month. It will also give us a big hint on whether we'll clinch a playoff spot or not. We've got: Blackpool (A) Doncaster (H) S****horpe (H) Bristol City (A) Plymouth (A) Doncaster (A) Nottm Forest (H) How many do you think we should get? I think- Blackpool (A) - 1 point- after a great performance against Newcastle, we'll secure a point against a playoff rival. Doncaster (H) - 3 points- got to be expecting to win every home game, especially against Doncaster. S****horpe (H) - 3 points- same as above. Bristol City (A) - 0 points- Think a 1-0 loss. Plymouth (A) - 3 points- Should be beating teams like Plymouth. Doncaster (A) - 1 point- Ill take a point. Nottm Forest (H) - 1 point- Tough game against a tough team in a tough derby. = 12 points.
Chrysalis Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I'll do a judgement after seeing if we any last minite signings or not. The problem is it depends on what team pearson puts out, the team against newcastle I would expect been capable of 16-19, team against ipswich 8-11
lcfc"weasel" Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I think we'll get 13, win your home games, draw your away games 'should' be beating teams like Plymouth though
Guest Bilo Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 Blackpool (A) Doncaster (H) S****horpe (H) Bristol City (A) Plymouth (A) Doncaster (A) Nottm Forest (H) Honestly think that the quality of the performance against Newcastle can prove a turning point after what wasn't a great January. Blackpool (A) - 3 points. Erratic form from Blackpool betrays the fact they've massively overachieved. 2-1 win. Doncaster (H) - 3 points. Strong at home but poor away form should make for a straightforward win. 2-0 win. S****horpe (H) - 3 points. Relegation threatened but will battle hard. Should have too much for them though. 1-0 win. Bristol City (A) - 1 point. A tough proposition away from home but can get something if their performance against Cardiff is anything to go by. 1-1 draw. Plymouth (A) - 3 points- Awful when they visited the Walkers and their lowly status seems to suggest that wasn't a one off. 2-0 win. Doncaster (A) - 0 points. Very tough to beat at the Keepmoat, and the third consecutive Tuesday night match could take its toll. 2-1 defeat. Nottm Forest (H) - 1 point- Derby showed they are beatable and that game could well have knocked their confidence. Still a tough game though. 1-1 draw. 14 points and a very respectable return to put us right back in the play-off picture.
brad1875 Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 i reckon we'll get about 9-10... but im always negative when it comes to thse guessing games
dandannieldanok Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 Blackpool (A) - Loss Doncaster (H) - Draw S****horpe (H) - Win Bristol City (A) - Draw Plymouth (A) - Loss Doncaster (A) - Draw Nottm Forest (H) - Win 9 points
Ozwin Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 Wow, February's a bloody good month for fixtures, some very winnable games there and could determine where abouts we'll be come the end of the season.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I think we need to get 12 points from February at least. Hopefully if we can get a win against Blackpool, i think we could have a good month ahead of us, but still i can't see us beating Blackpool away.
Finnegan Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I put almost exactly the same as Bilo, except a point at Donny away. 15.
AoWW Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 Blackpool (A) - 1 point Doncaster (H) - 3 points S****horpe (H) - 3 points Bristol City (A) - 0 points Plymouth (A) - 3 points Doncaster (A) - 1 point Nottm Forest (H) - 1 point 12 points Edit: Hah, that'll teach me to read the thread properly before posting. Didn't realise I'd gone for exactly the same as Dylan.
Guest Bilo Posted 31 January 2010 Posted 31 January 2010 I put almost exactly the same as Bilo, except a point at Donny away. 15. I can see it being a good month for us if things go well, I was expecting to be shot down in flames for my rampant optimism. I wouldn't be shocked to see us pick up something at Donny, and a month undefeated would be just the ticket.
Fox92 Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Blackpool Away - 1 point Doncaster Rovers Home - 3 points S****horpe United Home - 3 points Bristol City Away - 1 point Plymouth Argyle Away - 3 points Doncaster Rovers Away - 1 point Nottingham Forest Home - 1 point 13 points
StanSP Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Blackpool (A) - 1 point Doncaster Rovers (H) - 3 points S****horpe (H) - 1 point Bristol City (A) - 0 points Plymouth Argyle (H) - 3 points Doncaster Rovers (A) - 1 point Nottm Forest (H) - 1 point I'd love for us to go unbeaten this month, but I can't see it happening. Fatigue might set in with so many fixtures in short space of time. Think Bristol City will be our hardest fixture out of them all. Guaranteed to be blatant penalty shouts missed across the month too!
Donut Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 February is a huge make or break month for us Points wise:- Blackpool away- 0 Pts- Holloway will have his team bang up for the game and with charlie adam firing on all cylinders right now, im thinking a narrow defeat is most likely. Doncaster home- 3Pts- Will look at donny as a 3pt banker at home and will consider a draw 2 pts dropped. S****horpe home- 3Pts- Should have enough to get past a S****horpe side who are currently enjoying a good run of form. Bristol City away- 1Pt- Two evenly matched teams in what looks like a tight encounter on paper. No doubt Leicester will look to avenge the poor home performance earlier in the season. Plymouth away- 3Pts- A toothless looking Plymouth should be put away by the boys, but the trip to home park isnt easy with Plymouth battling for points themselves on a very different agenda. Doncaster away- 0Pts- The keepmoat is a real fortress (excuse the pun) and teams dont tend to come away from there with much. A point would be a good point, but i think a defeat is on the cards here. Forest home- 1Pt- A difficult one to call. Forest have pace and power in abundance, but leicester are a resolute defensive outfit. A real tactical battle could develop, plus the nature of a local derby usually means you can expect a close, no quarter given affair. A draw for me. By my maths, an 11 point return,
lcfc_sam_p Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Blackpool (A) - 3 points after our performance against newcastle, our away form has to change somewhere aswel. Doncaster (H) - 3 points got to be winning home games especially against donny S****horpe (H) - 3 points again Bristol City (A) - 1 point. bristol are good at home but we dont concede many. Plymouth (A) - 3 points- Should be beating teams like Plymouth. Doncaster (A) - 1 point. Nottm Forest (H)- 3 points, revenge. unbeaten month. very optimistic i know.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 1 February 2010 Posted 1 February 2010 Blackpool (A) - Draw Doncaster (H) - Win S****horpe (H) - Win Bristol City (A) - Draw Plymouth (A) - Win Doncaster (A) - Draw Nottm Forest (H) - Win Optimistic but we can do it. Would want at least 12/13 points
Chrysalis Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 ok window closed so here my opinion. Blackpool (A) lose Doncaster (H) win S****horpe (H) win Bristol City (A) draw Plymouth (A) draw Doncaster (A) lose Nottm Forest (H) draw only 9 points my reasoning. I think blackpool will be too strong for us, bristol city I expect we will be close up shop type of game 0-0 or 1-1, plymouth will be a 0-0, doncaster will work us out after the 1st game and beat us 2nd time round, forest if we lucky will come here defensively minded as away and we will get a draw.
z-layrex Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 I really dont give a shit, as long as we beat Forest. There really aren't words in the English language I can use to express my hatred of that club and Robert Earnshaw's forehead.
The Doctor Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 There really aren't words in the English language I can use to express my hatred of that club and Robert Earnshaw's forehead. why his forehead in paticular? Personally i think the only games next month that we shouldn't nessacerily get all three points from are brizzle and forest, but the players could be fired up to avenge those defeats against the two at the start of december. 19 points
C-man Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Blackpool (A) - 3 Doncaster (H) - 3 Scunthorpe (H) - 3 Bristol City (A) - 1 Plymouth (A) - 1 Doncaster (A) - 0 Nottm Forest (H) - 3 14 points
Corky Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Blackpool- 1 Doncaster- 3 Scunthorpe- 3 Bristol City- 0 Plymouth- 3 Doncaster- 0 Nottingham Forest- 3 So 13 points.
AoWW Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 Good to see folks being so accurate with their predictions.
sdb Posted 14 February 2010 Posted 14 February 2010 7 points from a possible 9 is pretty tasty though. My prediction would have been 11 points at the start of the month, with 6 so far.
Dylan Posted 28 February 2010 Author Posted 28 February 2010 Well February is over and we got: Blackpool (A) - 3 Doncaster (H) - 1 S****horpe (H) - 3 Bristol City (A) - 1 Plymouth (A) - 1 Doncaster (A) - 3 Nottm Forest (H) - 3 Which is 15 out of 21 points. Id have defo taken that at the start of the month, and is in the range of what the majority predicted. Brilliant month.
