Manwell Pablo Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 because he's let his team down and he's basically a massive scumbaghe's not going to do it of his own accord...cos he's a rat bastard Are you Wayne Bridge?
purpleronnie Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Terry will go of course he will even we're not stupid enough to leave him out, if they didn't half the team shouldn't go either, Ashley cole etc etc....
surrifox Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 the reason for all the legal manoeuvering was to have it all hushed up so he could continue to be England manager and profit from that position- not because he was worried that Bridge would find out. His agents advised him on that course of action. The FA should scupper things for that very reason by taking away the captaincy. You have to feel sorry for him though it must be tough to get by on £170k a week plus the odd fee as a tour guide - perhaps he should get his mum and his pikey mum in law to go out shoplifting or his dad to peddle drugs to keep the wolf from the family door and help support his gambling and tart habit- oh hold on they already have
Guest Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 I see issues of 'trust' raised to doubt Terry's captaincy, anyone care to elaborate? I personally see 'respect' being the issue, rather than 'trust'. And those who hark back to bobby moore and how he should be the example to all captains should not only move on because times have changed but the press were alot less intrusive into footballers lives than now and who knows what they got up to back then. Footballers back then didn't earn extortionate sums of money, they didn't use their positions to profit even further by having sponsorship deals, and they didn't sell their marriages or home lives to magazines. If you're going to use the media to your advantage, don't complain when the media uses you to theirs. I really couldn't give a shit to be honest. All that matters to me is the footballing side of things and if he plays as he always does then no problems. Like any other player, if they drop in form for whatever reason then don't play them. SIMPLE.People fuck each others wives all the times. When something like this is deemed more important than thousands of people dying everyday from diseases and starving it's sad times. Just wait until you get a girlfriend/boyfriend. You might understand then.

Tilley Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 People still going on about this? Hope JT is captain at World Cup, I also hope Gibbs is understudy to Cole.

Guest Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Dont even think Terrys that good really. Not really big into chocolate, but have to say Cadburys is better.

Uncle Albert Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 I also hope Gibbs is understudy to Cole. Said the exact same thing a few pages back!
Edmund Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Just wait until you get a girlfriend/boyfriend. You might understand then. What the fuck I'm happily in a relationship thank you very much albeit not married. Aren't you married to Sir Flynway? How about we swap bodily fluids so I can gain an understanding Seriously though I stand by my first point. Terry is the man for the job and what he does off the pitch shouldn't hinder his footballing career. If the result of the off the pitch incident has an effect on his form then people may have a case but until then nothing changes. Players should be picked on merit, not on where they place their man sticks

I happen to think that cheating on someone, famous or not, is a pretty shitty thing to do. So I'll pass on your offer, thanks. As I've already said, I have no problem with Terry playing. The only issues I see with him captaining the side are a) if he'd lost the respect of his team mates, in which case it is a problem, and b) the fact that there any other contender has just as dubious character, or just isn't up to the task. Terry has the comfort of knowing he can behave like a shit to his wife because she'll forgive him, and footballers seem to be as bad as each other!!

Maybe I came across as a bit ignorant/arrogant but I can assure you that I think cheating is out of order. What I was trying to insinuate is that I think this has been blown out of proportion. Yes he did wrong but it's not the end of the world for him as some are suggesting. I agree with your points for example him losing respect from team mates which then gives a viable case to drop his captaincy as it could effect the whole team which sort of touches on what I was saying about form. But if the players are mature enough to get on with it and put these things aside on the pitch then I don't see a problem. If Bridge is also in the squad then of course it's going to have a detrimental effect but we don't know what the relationship is like between Terry and Bridge at the moment. But like I said earlier there are more important things in this world to worry about other than the latest celebrity gossip and at the end of the day footballs only a game. Let Terry and all involved get on with it and then judge him on his form. We will soon enough have an idea if this has had a negative effect on his game, and if so then drop him. But I'm not going to sit around reading the ins and outs when it's not relevant as his footballing abilities is all that matters to me.

Unfortunately the press don't think so, and most fans seem to go along with it. The 2 faced media are always doing this, they'll be telling us to get behind the team whilst printing stories destroying players confidence and trying to create tension between players, then using it as an excuse why we got knocked out.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Got his meeting tomorrow with Capello and apparently Capello is going to ask Terry if he wants to resign as captain before he makes his decision. Hopefully Capello has seen sense and decides to keep him as skipper.
surrifox Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 if he stays I suppose we shall the unedifying sight and sound of English fans booing their own team's captain. Not great for anyone's morale I would think
dandannieldanok Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 if he stays I suppose we shall the unedifying sight and sound of English fans booing their own team's captain. Not great for anyone's morale I would think Ashley Cole responded to the moronic boos he got by becoming the best left-back in the world, hopefully it doesn't happen but I reckon Terry'll cope, water off a duck's back.
Koke Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 so he is the one who had a gambling problem, accepted backhanders for the chealsea training ground thing, cheated on his wife numerous times and you choose to slag her off and insult her? she is somehow the one to insult in all this? You opinion of women is frightening... No. If my missus cheated on me once, nevermind 8 times [allegedly] I'd be packing her bags for her. I wouldn't continue to stay with her and let her demean me. Unless of course she's earning £170,000 a week.

Although I disagree about the other players being mature enough not to let it affect them; chances are they won't have a go because of their own guilty consciences......
Ashley Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I think she should go to the world cup yes, if this happend in a normal day situation within a work place with a manager sleeping with a fellow employees wife/husband would he or she get sacked? NO! however this is John Terry and he's a role model for young children across the country. What he done was wrong yes but he dosent deserve not to be in the World Cup squad.
Uncle Albert Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Like I said earlier if people want the England captain to be a good role model then they best give it to someone like Gareth Barry because all the others have had some sort of bad experience in their personal lives thats been well documented. Role models my ass, if children/teenagers need to follow a footballer to give them guidance as a role model then they need some serious help.
leicesterfox86 Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 I think John Terry should go to the World Cup. He shouldn't have done what he did but we need to keep the team together as much as possible in a world cup year. Just seen what Andy Gray thinks and he seems to agree. Any other year Terry would have to go but this year we actually have a chance so we have to stick by him However Capello is a stickler for discipline and who knows what his decision will be

Ashley Cole is not, and never has been, the best left back in the world. Biggest prik in the world maybe.
