Should JT Go To The World Cup?

Make Rooney captain.

At least Terry rags supermodels when he gets bored of mashing his bird. Rather that that some scrotum faced cvnt who pays grandmas to get his jollies.

Personally, I think he has to. As much as he is an idiot for doing what he's done, I don't believe leaving him out of the World Cup squad will achieve anything, let alone our chances of winning the World Cup. We don't have a defender like him and he'd be sorely missed imo.

I do believe he should be stripped of the captaincy though, how can players look up to him and take inspiration from him after doing the dirty on one of his best mates?

I'll support him whilst he's playing for England, but that's it.

That all sums up my view perfectly.

Terry's a total scumbag. If this was an isolated incident then it may be forgivable, but it's just not.

1) The taunting of the US tourists on Sept 11.

2) Weeing on the nightclub floor - funny if you're 15, moronic if you're a pro footballer.

3) Attempting to profit from the England captaincy.

4) Doing tours of the Chelsea training ground for cash.

5) 'Incident' in a nightclub which led to assault charge.

Throw in his shameless self-promotion ("I'm a born leader of men") and you've got yourself a smug, irresponsible egomaniac who shouldn't be within a mile of the England captaincy.

I didn't realise that shagging your team-mate's ex was the sign of a 'born leader'. Probably better get on it.

The question of the captaincy should no longer be an issue. Here's how it should have panned out:

7 am Story breaks

9 am Terry wakes up

9.01 am Terry resigns

If you are in a position of power and are disgraced, you resign if you have a degree of dignity and respect for the position you have been occupying. Sadly Terry has neither.

I can't bear the thought of England potentially winning the world cup this summer and John Terry being the man who lifts the trophy. A once in a lifetime moment ruined by a total ****.

That said, I'd have him in the first XI!

I agree Terry's a cunt and I do think professional footballers, especially internationals, have an obligation to set an example to the public.

But at the same time they're also there to win the competition and if he's the best for the job and the best for the captaincy then so be it. I don't give a shit if my captain's squeeky clean. Short of drugs or cheating scandals I don't give a damn what he's done.

(I mean, come on, our captain is this man: )

He shagged your missus didn't he?

He's not the only player in the squad to pull off something stupid.

He's not the only captain internationally either - Olly Kahn, the 74 Dutch team and plenty of others.

:crylaugh:

I think he should go SA and make up for his stupid mistakes on the pitch. I think he's scum...but as long as he does well on the pitch, I don't care.

I think Rooney for captain....at least he was still very young when he did it.

Posted
For me, it's simple - keep the private life and career separate. Let him do what he wants off the pitch. As Lee Dixon mentioned on MOTD2 yesterday, a professional footballer on a football pitch is where he feels he can get his mind off things and do what he loves doing.

This private matter hasn't distracted him from his performances, and I don't think it will in the future either. Whether he committed adultery or not, he's still one of the best centre-backs England will take to SA.

Capello would be giving in to the distorted and we'll-blow-everything-out-of-proportion crazy media if he takes the captaincy away from Terry.

I posted this in another thread and thought i would post it here too.....

this is what Capello said back in 2008 when talking about the England Captaincy...

Capello said: "I wasn't put under any pressure and all the decisions I've made, technical or otherwise, have been my decisions. My choices.

"I've got my own eyes, I can see things and I can understand things for myself.

The past is the past and if you learn from those mistakes you've got every right to aim as high as you want to aim

Rio Ferdinand

"I said I would rotate the captains. I will have a permanent captain from August. Until then, John Terry has a chance to become England captain."

However, the England manager did add: "A captain must be an example to follow in training and a leader during the game. And, of course, I would hope he could be an example, a role model outside the game - in life - as well.

"That's very important, always. Not just for the England captain, but for everything that we, as sportsmen, show youngsters. That is very important. He has to be an example.

"We need to be role models when we play for England and when we play for our clubs. Part of this involves fair play and respect towards the referee and the public who come to see the games.

"In that respect, we need to get back something we may be losing a bit."

That statement, Capello's very own words make Terry's position as England captain untenable.

He should definately go as a player, though.

You've got a good point. He's trying to play golf without a ball or a club :P

I can't believe its even a possibility, I hope it isnt, it will be tough enough with him.

But I'm sure we'll find plenty of ways to scupper our own chances, I was just waiting for one and here it is, I'm sure they'll be more.

And no doubt this story will run right up to the WC....perfect preperation.

Beckham, accused and pretty much found guilty of having an affair.

Rooney, guilty of having an affair.

Terry, guilty of having an affair amongst other things.

Gerrard, guilty of assault.

To be fair, pretty much all of the obvious candidates for the England captaincy are guilty of something bad... it's about choosing the least bad and I'd go with Gerrard as I think giving it to Rooney would mess him up, as Mark Lawrence pointed out on Football Focus and Beckham isn't guaranteed to play every game or even make the World Cup at the moment.

Then of course there is Lampard or Barry or someone else who's more a second choice England captain...

Posted

Course he should go. In fact, he should even remain captain And as Lisa said, what other alternatives are there for captaincy? They are all shady dodgy characters. Rooney cheated on his missus and was found in a brothel shagging a granny. Cashley cheated on his wife as well. Beckham also did. Lampard and Rio was allegedly caught doing amateur sex tapes.

Bridge is probably a nice bloke and all that, and my heart goes out to him, but he is an average player and we can just take Leighton Baines as a back-up to Cole. Bridge is no loss. Terry is a huge loss.

The team bridge think was laughable, it was his ex girlfriend.

Yes Terry will and should go to the world cup.

Yes but it wasnt at the time it happened though...

Also it would be absolutely soul destroying for me if i found out a close friend slept with my gf.. the mother of my son. To then have it in the media and everyone staring at me thinking , ect...

I would value the support of some close freinds...

The LEAST John Terry can do is publicly apologize for what he did.

Posted

Rumours flying around on Twitter that Capello has personally phoned Wayne Bridge and told him Terry has lost the captain's armband.

Asked him to have a look under his bed.

Yeah fvck off.

Every report i could be bothered to read has stated they wore already broken up at the time.

To be honest, this is just the latest in a growing number of misdemeanours; to suggest Terry is dropped is because of the latest one is going to far.

Questionable over the captaincy. As long as he hasn't lost the dressing room, I can't see another alternative. It's not like there's a plethora of squeaky clean characters to choose from.

This = Sorted

I do think he should go, Capello will be cutting off his nose to spite his face if he doesn't take him. He might've been a bit of a bellend, but he's still a quality centre back, and streets ahead of any possible replacement.

I think the captaincy should be given to Rooney. The way he's grown and matured this season, taking on the repsonsibility of being United's 'main man,' with the departure of Ronaldo, has by his own admission impressed Capello. He seems to have developed into a leader, and giving him the captaincy would only give him extra incentive to take this World Cup by the scrote and be the man to lead the trophy for England.

He's the talismanic figure in the team. I'd give it to him.

No they werent, they have broken up since though.

Erm, what?

Not only was he found NOT GUILTY of affray, but the assault case you so claim he was found guilty of was dropped even before it went to trial.

Errm, what are you on about?

Reading the other things David's accused people of being 'guilty' of, I don't think he strictly means in a legal sense. In fact, it's clear he doesn't. Unless you can get sentenced for knobbing Rebecca Loos now?

Concentrate.

How can you be guilty of something you didn't do?

If we're doing this 'guilty' shit, then he was 'guilty' of being involved in an assault case in which he was found wholly innocent of all charges.

And to be fair, you should get sentenced for porking someone as ugly as Rebecca Loos
