Simo86 Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Terry Stripped of Captaincy I would still take him to the world cup though
dandannieldanok Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Surely now then that is an admission that Terry cannot go to the world cup. Stripping him of the captaincy means that Capello thinks that the players will have lost respect and faith in Terry. Taking him stripped of the captaincy would be hypocritical in my opinion. I don't agree with this decision.

I don't agree with this decision. No. The captaincy has a level of responsbility beyond that of squad member. That said, I can see a twat like Terry retiring over this.
lavrentis Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 No fooking about from Capello. Wouldnt have got that with Sven/McClaren
lou Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 No fooking about from Capello. Wouldnt have got that with Sven/McClaren well Sven couldnt really have said much

Yes but I'm guessing the reason he's been dropped is due to the potential player loss of respect, and if that is the case there's no point in taking him because why should the players suddenly regain their respect just because he isn't captain anymore?
Sparky Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 well Sven couldnt really have said much Sven would have given him a high 5

A combination of then respecting his abilities as a player but not as a captain, and the fact that he has been seen to be punished.
Joe. Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 It really isn't that big a deal. For me the England captaincy is such an overstated position anyway, it barely matters who has it. Emile for new captain... everybody knows it should happen.
Simi Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 No. The captaincy has a level of responsbility beyond that of squad member. Same point I was about to make.
Matt Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Captaincy stripped? Good. Dont even think Terrys that good really. I agree, To say he's not good would be crazy and i'm not saying that, what I will say is I think he's overrated.
JimmyK Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Right decision, he's a very valuable squad member but it would've been bad for the team had he carried on as Captain.
Guest Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 if this happend in a normal day situation within a work place with a manager sleeping with a fellow employees wife/husband would he or she get sacked? NO! In typical lawyer fashion, I'm going to disagree and say that it depends on the situation. I've worked at places where relationships with colleagues were frowned upon, and the disruptive effect that it has on the department etc has meant people being relocated etc. On the other hand, I've worked at places where colleagues have ended up getting married. I guess, what I'm trying to say, it depends on the situation and the statuses of the people involved.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 The Times is reporting that Terry paid the girl 400k to keep quiet, out bidding the tabloids. Good call I think, his kids don't need to read that.

Matt Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 According to the NOTW (Fair enough its the NOTW, but it's a source, where's people's source to counter the arguement?) -John Terry has paid more secret lovers to stay silent. (At least 4 apparently) -He's paid Vanessa Perroncel £750,000 to keep quiet. -He will be named in a £137,000 fraud trial this week. (12 Charges related to a £37,000 unpaid bill for week's stay in a Dubai hotel) -He had a one night stand with Orlaith (From Big Brother 6) while his wife was pregnant with twins. -Fabio Capello has urged JT to "get help". Don't get me wrong, these girls who purposly go out to shag footballers are the problem however 'Mr Family Man', 'Dad Of The Year', 'England Captain'/Footballers should have more respect for his family and career and is really as much in the wrong.
Uncle Albert Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 John Terry's wife does look to be really "heartbroken" though, sunning it up in Dubai spending Terry's wages on clothes etc. Stupid bitch.

Benji Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Capello has it right for me, captaincy stripped but still in the squad. The ironic thing though is passing the armband to Rio, who isn't the whitest of white people. Then again, are there any "perfect members of society" in the england squad, or society in general? The majority of our national side have been involved in something that's hit the papers over the years be it affairs or criminal charges. Doesn't make it right no but you can't go scapegoating Terry. Hopefully now decisions are made the media will shut the fk up and let us prepare for the WC.

BoneDog Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 -He had a one night stand with Orlaith (From Big Brother 6) Yes John! Credit where credit is due
lou Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 -He had a one night stand with Orlaith (From Big Brother 6) This too seemed to impress my Son and his mates, there was a lot of smirking and nodding of heads when I read that out
