Should JT Go To The World Cup?

Recommended Posts

How can you be guilty of something you didn't do?

If we're doing this 'guilty' shit, then he was 'guilty' of being involved in an assault case in which he was found wholly innocent of all charges.

And to be fair, you should get sentenced for porking someone as ugly as Rebecca Loos

He twatted someone, ergo he assaulted them.

He doesn't seem to mean in the 'legal sense.'

No they werent, they have broken up since though.

Cheers,

Also can somebody change the title from JT to Terry as i keep thinking about Justin Timberlake

Anyone who thinks Terry shouldnt go to the World Cup is a total bellend and should have no opinion on football ever, who cares what he gets upto in his personal life, we judge him on his football not what bird he is shagging. I laughed when I re-heard the story that he boned a 17 year old in his Bentley a few years ago, fairplay.

But if he wants to step down as captain then we should respect his decision but the FA or Capello shouldnt take it off him.

Maybe if his wife did that more often we wouldn't be having this problem...

Sorry.

maybe i'm slightly biased but you should drop Terry and A. cole and take Wayne Brown + Chris Powell as Captain.

Posted
So if he doesn't apologise, he shouldn't go?

Fuck Bridge.

If he is incapable of showing a little humility over the whole thing then I don't see how the players are going to trust him. Maybe they're all at it and it is a totally different world, but I suspect Terry has crossed a significant line.

Terry's a total scumbag. If this was an isolated incident then it may be forgivable, but it's just not.

1) The taunting of the US tourists on Sept 11.

2) Weeing on the nightclub floor - funny if you're 15, moronic if you're a pro footballer.

3) Attempting to profit from the England captaincy.

4) Doing tours of the Chelsea training ground for cash.

5) 'Incident' in a nightclub which led to assault charge.

Throw in his shameless self-promotion ("I'm a born leader of men") and you've got yourself a smug, irresponsible egomaniac who shouldn't be within a mile of the England captaincy.

I didn't realise that shagging your team-mate's ex was the sign of a 'born leader'. Probably better get on it.

The question of the captaincy should no longer be an issue. Here's how it should have panned out:

7 am Story breaks

9 am Terry wakes up

9.01 am Terry resigns

If you are in a position of power and are disgraced, you resign if you have a degree of dignity and respect for the position you have been occupying. Sadly Terry has neither.

I can't bear the thought of England potentially winning the world cup this summer and John Terry being the man who lifts the trophy. A once in a lifetime moment ruined by a total ****.

That said, I'd have him in the first XI!

You missed out shagging a 17 year old in a car park.

To be honest is the captain's role really that important? What Capello says in the dressing room and on the training pitch is far more important. I see issues of 'trust' raised to doubt Terry's captaincy, anyone care to elaborate? They play football for 90 minutes, the manager tells them their jobs and they do them, what are Terry's teammates going to find untrustworthy about simple captain commands like "hold your line" e.t.c.? If any of the players are really that affected by it all, they don't have the strength of mind to attend and play in a world cup.

Make Rooney captain.

Great Idea.

Brothel Anyone?

Reading this thread you all seem to forget that 90% of proffesional footballers are selfish self indulgent spoilt twats, and to be honest it's only parly their fault. The reason Terry is getting the amount of flak he is is because A) He's England captain and B) It's his best mates Mrs. Even though Bridge split with her 3 months before this all started so it's nowhere near as bad as some people and the papers are making out. It's just something with a bit of spice that will sell.

He's no worse than most of them. Frank Lampards spilt from his gf was very suspicious if you ask me, Rooney, Beckham, Ashley Cole, all up to no good. Thats just the ones you know about.

The reasons for this are they are thick and bought up without morals, due to the fact that they encouraged to concentrate on football form an early age and bin off as much academic schooling as a result, from the moment they are recognised as having talent and are given a contract their football clubs will do ANYTHING they want them to do in their private lives to keep them happy and focused on football, some proffesional footballers don't even know how to change a light bulb. These days they have more money than they can spend, and they have no idea how to be treat women, as they have some many little tarts throwing themselves at them due to their talent fame and bank balance. offering themselves up for gang bangs in hotel rooms and night club toilets, they don't need to. Many of them never grow up, until they retire.

This filters right through from their level all the way down to League Two on a smaller scale, how many times have we seen one our players down town pissed out their trees cracking on to a random.

If we start dropping players from the England team based on their exploits off the pitch we'll be fielding a pretty shit team. As I say it's partly down to the system that these players think assault infiedillity etc is acceptable, they think they can do what the fuk they like as that's how they've been bought up.

Dropping him for the WC is a not an option. Stripping him of the captaincy should only be considered if he's lost the respect of the players, and I should imagine they couldn't give a shit.

yes it is.

Wether people like it or not the role of Captain of England, the country that gave football to the world is more than just someone bellowing instructions on the pitch. There is the role model for youngsters, there is the image of the England brand he is fronting, all the sponsors he has to go meet and have his photo taken with.

I personally dont like the idea of my kids looking up to someone who shags his friends missus, gets her pregnant and pressures her into having an abortion. takes back handers for showing people arround the chelsea training ground the US tourist things, the assault allegations.. that alone would be enough for me to not want him to be captain. The England brand and sponsors have their own reasons that i consider less important they wouldnt.

I think its incredibly naive for people to think the England captaincy is only about what happens on the pitch.

It's only naive if you're bothered about 'role-models'. I care about England winning the world cup and that only, I couldn't care less whether his image as a 'role-model' is tarnished. It's up to parents to inform their kids of decent 'role-models'. I hate the notion of a 'role-model' anyway, kids should be told to go and and live their own life and make their own personality, make their own mistakes, make their own acheivements, not follow some vapid 'celebrity'.

Also, who do you suggest as a replacement then if Terry's actions have disgusted you so much? I guarantee your selection will be someone who has cheated on a partner in the past. Then what do you tell your kids?: "cheating with a friend and teammate's partner is wrong, but cheating is condonable if your friends missus isn't involved". It's a viscious circle you're getting into if you start fiddling with the captaincy, just changing a cheat for a cheat.

They only split at christmas. AFTER it all happened.

But of equal importance is that Terry only got married in 2007 and has 3 year old twins so he did the dirty on his own wife too. some people would consider it irrelevant wether Bridge and his Mrs were together or not.. its his own wife and kids he has shamed the most.

He should resign as captain but still go to the WC and show us all how good he is.

Whilst others have had affairs, none of them were with a team mates 'lady'

Source?

I read in Sundays paper they spilt about a year ago just after he moved to Manchester City as she wouldn't follow him up north, shortly after they had been on holiday somewhere, the affair started three months after that, went on for four months before they got rumbled.

This!

I think there's more chance of JT stepping down himself. But why should he? :dunno:

There's always going to be scandal's in football. This surely shouldn't hinder our chances of lifting the world cup.

JT's payed the price, Lost his wife, will be involved in a battle for custody. This should be it. Keep football and Life separate.

I would go for Gerrard- he seems to have more of a clue and is equally inspirational, in my opinion.

there is scandal and then there is a total scumbag being your team captain.

Meanwhile, Terry's love life has been no less colourful. He is engaged to beautician Toni Poole, 24, and in their first seven years together is said to have strayed at least eight times, but has always been forgiven.

Last September, he said: "I really regret what I've done to Toni. I'm not going to cheat on her ever again and want to marry her more than anything in the world."

But two months later lurid revelations were made in The Sun about how Terry enjoyed a passionate clinch in his £100,000 Bentley with a busty teenager who had asked for his autograph and then sent her lewd text messages suggesting a threesome with one of her friends.

JT to meet Capello later this week to discuss captaincy - SSN Breaking News.

Also Chelsea are allowing him to miss out on a the FA Cup match so he can spend Valentine's Day to go on compassionate leave to attempt to patch things up in Dubai with his wife.

lol

Personally think he should go to the WC as captain. Don't care if he's a bad 'role model' or not.

Who the fuck wants their children to look up to a footballer?

Intresting debate on Loose Women about this! :D

This is doing my head in now.

What Terry does out of football is nothing to do with anyone else.

So if Gordon Brown were to do the same then he should be allowed to stay on as PM <_< . Responsibility comes with high profile public positions and IMO he should be man enough to take the decision to quit.
