Guest Mee-9 Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 So don't use it then? Fucking hate that slogan. What else do you want me to say? Want me to make up my own Slogan? Foxes Never Quit? That suit you better? It's a shit slogan, I'll admit it. But people need to think where we were last season. (YET ANOTHER STATEMENT THAT MUST HAVE BEEN SAID 500000 TIMES)
easilee Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Good away point. We seem to be a little bit unlucky in that we have met quite a few teams who are on a losing streak. If we had met these same teams 2 or 3 games earlier we probably would have beaten them and been a part of their losing run. As it is we are playing teams who have to stop the rot and it is galvanising them. I'm always wary of teams who haven't won a game in 6 or 7 or lost 5 on the trot.
Anish Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 WIN at home DRAW away.Bunch of fu cking arsewipes spitting their shite in these post match things every week now. Plymouth won 3-1 at Barnsley last week, the same Barnsley who won 2-0 at Cardiff today, anyone not realise this league is seriously fu.cked up yet? Plymouth's always a tough place to go purely for the distance. Credit to those who went look forward to what they have to say as opposed to folk who sit and arselick this Stringer character. As somebody who was at the game (possibly the first one on this thread), I have to say that we controlled the first half and looked decent on the ball (we tried to pass it despite the horrible pitch), but didn't create many chances. The own goal was comical - he'd taken a leaf out of Frank Sinclair's book of o.gs. Plymouth weren't at the races until we gave them too much time on the ball to cross the ball and it was a good header for the equaliser. Second half we weren't at the races. We couldn't keep possession and reverted to hitting it long at all opportunities, and in the end we were hanging on for the point, which we just about deserved. The players gave their all and the commitment was excellent, so most of the fans clapped them off. It's still worrying how few chances we create and how blunt our attack looks. We never really looked like scoring and the own goal was a gift. Still, we haven't lost any ground in the playoffs because those around us just can't put a decent run together.
Fox92 Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Should be taking three points from places like Plymouth if we want to go up. Then again, a point away from home. Is it good enough though? Obviousley again, another sign of us not being "good enough". And why did Nigel say the players were "tired". One game a week, getting paid lots of money, I feel sorry for them.

Because a) They're playing 2 games a week this month and next and b) He was referring to the fact that they were playing on a bog of a pitch.

Playing on a 'cow field' didn't help with the tiredness case I would guess, and isn't it 3 games in a week (Saturday to Saturday - Scuthorpe, Bristol City, Plymouth)? Being paid lots of money - Hard to feel sorry for them but it won't make them feel any less tired.

Legend_in_blue Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 There's going to come a point this season when teams in the bottom half will have to go for wins more than draws. At home this can only be good for us. Away from home we'll hopefully start creating and taking more chances on a pitch that is more playable as the weather improves. The fact that we're grinding out the results away from home and seeing teams below us being inconsistent, we're playing for the 4th-6th places here. Flippin' heck this is even above my high expectations of an 8th-10th finish this season. What do people want? I'd rather we be sitting in 6th and looking pretty than making a mad dash for it come the end of the season. Current form of others would dictate this sort of approach. We're looking good people, chill out.
Bluefoxtim Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Fook me. After beating S****horpe we were better than Brazil, now we are useless! All thia in the space of 2 AWAY games (which we haven't been beaten in)

How are we not good enough, The league does not lie. Look how many goals we've conceded. We have a solid defence. As long as you aren't conceding goals, It doesn't really matter if your scoring flurries of goals all season or one goal. We've infact played 3 games in a week. S****horpe, Bristol, and Plymouth. 3 games in 7 days. I could be payed £5, or £50000 a week, I'd still be knackered playing on a cowfield and playing 3 games in 7 days. I'd love to see you have ago at it. (Actually, Nah) Fool.

Not to mention training, another 9000 calories per week minimum. I feel NP knows what he's doing and we will have a hell of a team ready for the Forest match.
Donut Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 I guess our position at the end of the season will suggest whether games like today and Bristol and points earned or dropped. It is disappointing to not be able to create more, with the exception of the Scunny game, against teams like Plymouth. Dont forget, we only just squeaked past them at our place. And considering we went one nil up, id have thought we could have capitalised on the heads dropping. But it wasnt to be. We are in our first season up, we are overachieving in my opinion, and its another game unbeaten. I dont think we are at the level yet where we can be expecting to beat teams away from home.
Maybes Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Honestly this forum is riddled with retards. It was never going to be an easy game, plymouth scrapping for their lives, our poor record at home park added to the shocking state of the 'pitch'! Its another point on the board and we are still sitting comfortably in the playoffs. Bring on Donny on tuesday!

The fact is in whatever job you do, you have not had to a) train and b) run 7 or more miles and burn endless calories against S****horpe, travel down to Bristol to do the same on the Tuesday, then travel again to do it for a third time in a week on heavy pitches. Obviously (notice the spelling buckteeth) Being paid more somehow develops an immunity to fatigue within your body does it?
Rich Fox Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Did not go to plymouth today so wont even try to say what I think about the game but over the last few games Wayne Brown has been awful giving the ball away with his long balls all the time and Wellens also loses posession to much, how did they do today? However we are making good progress this season and playing some good passing football, I think Waghorn has some goals in him and Gallagher hopefully so lets not panic and we will get a result at home to Forest and if were positive beat Doncaster, so far so good well done Nigel Pearson.
Guest Posted 20 February 2010 Posted 20 February 2010 Still on my way back to London. On balance that was probably a fair result. Pitch was god awful, nearly as bad as Blackpool. Chris Weale is a hero
