lookwhaticando Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Disappointed. Two points dropped considering we hit half time 2-0 up.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Great first half, poor second. Probably a fair result in the end. Onwards to Wednesday night and back up to fourth.
sdb Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Excellent lesson in how not to play when 2-0 up. Fair result but they should've been finished off at HT.

perthfox Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 most dissapointing should have buried them after being 2-0 up,looked like a different team second half
shen Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Feels like we lost it. Gutted with that result. But we're still unbeaten, we're one point closer to securing a play-off place and this result and performance should be enough in itself to gee us up for Reading
GLC Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Great first half! Second half we just lost our shape and couldn't make the break through, disappointed tbh
purpleronnie Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 I wouldn't mind the tactics of sitting back and pretecting the 2-0 advantage but we aint Inter milan. If we had carried on the way we played the first half theres no way we would have just drawn the game. Ah well. Still, 4th in the table...Pretty good!
Guest ttfn Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Really good first half but that was exactly what we deserved to happen to us at Palace in the second period. Hopefully Pearson will give them an earful.
Jonezy Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 So negative hoofball tactics don't work, can we then please refrain from that in the future. Frustrating to see us throw away 2 good points like that, but heads up, we still look good for the play-off. No blaming the ref for the offside goal Coventry got, this was our own fault.

Credit to Coventry for closing us down very high up the pitch. It's disappointing we couldn't cope and we effectively did nothing but lump it forward to Waghorn and giving possession away.
StanSP Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 IT WAS OFFSIDE. That's all. Luck evens itself out. Our 2nd goal didn't cross the line. We can take heart from our first half performance, and learn from the 2nd half. On to Weds we go!
samuel Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 When you decide to bypass the midfield that's what happens. A thoroughly woeful result considering the first 40 mins of football, second half I think it was only kicked by Leicester 10 times!

Shrenchel Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Typical fooking City. Not really though is it. Watford, Bristol City, Middslebrough, Swansea, Plymouth etc it was us scoring in the final minutes to get a result. Plus, the countless fvcking times in the last two seasons we've successfully defended a lead.

A throughly woeful result considering the first 40 mins of football, second half I think it was only kicked by Leicester 10 times! Wellens lumped it forward on numerous occasions I'd say that some of the blame lied with Oakley and the three forwards for not coming deep or running into available positions.
flanimal Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Disappointing. We were awesome first half, but we got lazy. Ultimately, a fair result, the offside goal is payback for the one that didn't cross the line. But we should have killed them off. Getting sick of long ball bullshit, but it's a point.

Think Cov must take a lot of credit for turning the game around. 8 points clear with a game in hand. I'd have taken tat back at the start of Feb.
Pegosteve Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 What we have to realise is that Cov did not turn up in the 1st half! It was like playing dustbins. Bit of commitment and effort put us on the back foot and we couldn't get any control, they are a good side form since xmas 2nd best team in the league. Yes it's hard to accept losing a 2 goal lead but come on 8 pointsclear of 7th with 9 games to go who wouldn't have taken this at the start of the season.
Salieri Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Superb for the first half hour or so, pretty woeful after that. I think Kings header just about crossed the line, their equaliser was a joke, miles offside. That said, they were all over us second half and deserved a point. We seemed to completely lose the plot and every time we regained posession we'd just hoof it up towards Waggy and invite them back onto us. Very strange as we demonstrated early on that we can play slick passing football. Was disappointed Nige didn't try to change things earlier than he did when it was clear we had lost our way. It feels a bit like a defeat after being two up but in the grand scheme of things we are still in an excellent position and hopefully lessons will be learned from that second half. Onwards to Wednesday and another tough game against in form Reading, but a chance to put another three points on the board.
