cambridgefox Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Excellent in 1st half, 2nd half we just sat back and stopped playing completely thinking we had already won. To allow a piss poor Coventry side back into it was very poor really. They were really, really shit. I don't think so you muppet, we were shit in the first half, but in the second half it was all us, we could have taken the 3 points quite easily and we have the 2nd best form in the league since January, all I can say is see you next season, there is no way you bunch of muppets will get promoted, actually it would be funny if you did, you would finish bottom of the league with the lowest points total ever recorded, and now that would be funny. Im fairly new to this but. 1) We could have taken the 3 pts -You didnt 2) 2nd best form since Jan-4th best since Aug(yes we started then) 3)No way you will get promoted but if u did-doesnt seem long since u mocked us for relegation, now ure tipping us for promotion
rayraysworld Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Cov fan here. I thought todays game was great overall. You guys dominated us for pretty much the entire first half. And then in the second half, you simply could not cope with us. The change was unbelievable. If you had carried on the same way in the 2nd half, you would have done us about 5-0. Todays game was a perfect example of why we need video technology. We both scored goals that should not have stood. Anyway........I hope you do not get promoted and I mean that sincerely. Here's to next seasons games between us.
C-man Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Just like the whole of L1 were you mean? It's not our fault hardly anyone else in the ground wants to do it. Yes there's the little sections of about 20 in the Kop, but they won't move over to the majority of the standers will they. Our celebrations would've looked epic if we'd just snatched a point from being 2-0 down. Come on Rob, wasn't criticising L1 was I? Other than the EASY bollocks but everyone I know thinks that's cringe. Was just saying from where I was they sounded decent throughout . Could be wrong.
CosbehFox Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 To be fair, I can't fault their celebrations. I don't care who you're playing, coming from 2-0 down to get a point is worth going bananas at. I had a reet rant about it at FT and then brother implied what a nobhead I must have looked then when N'Guessan scored that header at Watford after throwing away a two goal lead to gain a draw.
Daggers Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 To be fair, I can't fault their celebrations. I don't care who you're playing, coming from 2-0 down to get a point is worth going bananas at. Max Gradel, 90th minute, Cup Finalesque celebrations
CosbehFox Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 , and not surprsingly given that in the first half a crack team of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and David Blunkett could have denied our attacking intentions. Kempes....context of Gradel's a lot different. 1st v 2nd. We were 1-0 up for a long period of the game.
Bert Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Come on Rob, wasn't criticising L1 was I? Other than the EASY bollocks but everyone I know thinks that's cringe. Was just saying from where I was they sounded decent throughout . Could be wrong. Everyone's different though aren't they. I don't like it myself, but if people want to do it then that's their choice. Wouldn't go as far as saying it's "cringe" though, but that's just me. They did sound decent, but they only sang 2 songs. I didn't say you were criticising L1 but we have only have a few hundred there so we're bound to sound worse/quieter than their 2000 odd. It's so much easier to make noise when you're all compact rather than dotted all over the place.
Munzie Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Not much to add to what's already been said. The 2nd half for us was crying out for some inspired substitutions. All three were poorly timed and ineffective.
flanimal Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Not much to add to what's already been said. The 2nd half for us was crying out for some inspired substitutions. All three were poorly timed and ineffective. Should've played N'Guessan second half. Waghorn and Gallagher both faded. We needed someone to win the long balls and run to them, Waghorn isn't going to win much header wise. I like Kermorgant, but he's a flick on man, he doesn't have the pace to be a loan striker.
Maybes Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Well I think today was a fair result. You lot started as well as anyone I have seen this season. Organised, fluid and knocking it about nicely. To be fair I thought we were in for a hiding. Your second goal, over or not, who knows. I've always said if you let the ball get that close you don't deserve any luck! Second half I think the Foxes had let complacency slip in, and not surprsingly given that in the first half a crack team of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and David Blunkett could have denied our attacking intentions. We may be nowhere near play off contenders but can play it ugly and make a nuisance of ourselves. I think we deserved a point offside goal or otherwise. I'm not into whole "hate Leicester" thing always hated the Brummies more. Therefore I hope you achieve your consecutive promotions, playing like you did in the first half you should be fine. Fair assessment. You are welcome to stay unlike some of the cov ****** that invade the board every now and then.

Yep, it's about time N'Guessan was given the chance to recapture some of what he has shown in the past. As he tends to fade over 90 mins, he should be a good impact sub.

As he tends to fade over 90 mins, he should be a good impact sub. He's ideal. Fast, strong, good header, scores goals. He's a bit inconsistent, but just being fast and strong would've given Coventry problems. Waghorn seemed to feel that tackle, he didn't seem as eager. Howard just fouls players, so possession is given, and Kermorgant is not a prolific striker anyway. N'Guessan's record speaks for itself.
Houchens Forehead Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Fair assessment. You are welcome to stay unlike some of the cov ****** that invade the board every now and then. I don't think we are unique in having a disabled section. Looking at most clubs forums "dere seem 2 be a few on em orl innit m8" Do any of you guys hanker for Filbert Street like we do for Highfield Road. I mean fairplay you get more in the Walkers than we do at Ricoh but aren't they just both utterly souless??

The section next to the away fans seems to grow a little bit every year and long may that continue.

Houchens Forehead Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Fond memories of FS,. Pretty sure that was mainly the adrenalin of wondering whether we would get back to Cov alive. No-one seems to have picked up Gunnar smashing into your blond haired lad. I've seen people walk for that, not that I'm complaining.

I did, and had I not been suffering with a broken face, I would have been screaming for a card. As it is, nobody likes McGivern, so they were probably happy about it.
CKB Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 First 40 mins it was like watching Brazil! seriously some of the stuff we did was amazing and we could have been 4 up Second half they came at us strong and we just seemed to wimper and go back to hoofball and i'm not quite sure why? did the players think we had it in the bag and thought we would sit back? surely NP didn't tell them to play like that? But and these are no excuses as like i said we played poorly second half, the ref had a total mare! i lost count the number of times Waghorn was fouled he must be seriously hurting tonight as he was pushed, kicked, smacked allover the pitch but not just Waggy the Gallagher incident, the Mcgivern incident, etc, etc.. Now as for our second goal it was touch and go from one angle it's in JUST and from another it's not the official gave it and how he gave it from that angle i don't know but i wasn't moaning.. As for the offside goal well was it a case in evening up the score??
lcfcadam Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Worse than Forest away? For me, being whacked by much the better team on the day was marginally easier than giving in when we could've easily just put it to bed...
C-man Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 For me, being whacked by much the better team on the day was marginally easier than giving in when we could've easily just put it to bed... Understood. Thinking about it, I was probably angrier after FT today than I was that day. That was a complete write-off - a bad day against a team on fire, unfortunately it was Forest. Today we were bullied out of a lead.

However, we are still, on our day, able to create a good noise. For me, being whacked by much the better team on the day was marginally easier than giving in when we could've easily just put it to bed... Really? At Forest we didn't turn up, no positives at all. Today we had 45 minutes of superb, attacking football.
philce Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 Come on Rob, wasn't criticising L1 was I? Other than the EASY bollocks but everyone I know thinks that's cringe. Was just saying from where I was they sounded decent throughout . Could be wrong. Made me cringe when they started that bollocks. I thought they'd been watching Leicester as long as the rest of us. Fiar play to Cov, they got at us 2nd half, we just thought we'd won it at half time. Why the fook cant we just keep playing like the 1st half for 90 minutes? I wont mention the 2 "goals" suffice to say that from where I was (L1) our 2nd looked well over the line and they had 3 players offside!
MC Prussian Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 A match of two halves. Should've sealed a win, let a 2-0 lead slip away. Awful team performance in the second - but I'm not saying that we were bad in absolute terms, we only failed to control and dominate the game like in the first half. We were too tame, too shy - no pressure or ideas coming from our midfield in the second 45 minutes and we only pushed for a winner towards the last five to ten minutes. Coventry were nowhere to be seen for 90 minutes and how they managed to score twice is beyond my knowledge. They never threatened, had an terrible defense and were there for the taking. The Chaventry chants were also dull, repetitious and uninspiring. We didn't take the chances and Pearson didn't work his magic in the dressing room at halftime, or else why would we squander such a nice cushion? Also, why all three substitutions coming so late - after 60 minutes or so, Howard, Kermorgant or Brown could've made a bigger impact. Still, can't be too disappointed. Thought it was a solid display all around, apart from Ryan McGivern, who once more was absolutely clueless (at one point, he played central midfielder without letting his teammates know), lost countless one-on-ones and had a poor distribution. Encore fourth in the table. P.S.: What was with Berner that he couldn't play today (and that in front of his parents who had allegedly flown in just for this game)?
Ford Super Sunday Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 P.S.: What was with Berner that he couldn't play today (and that in front of his parents who had allegedly flown in just for this game)? Calf injury, the moand and groans coming from a few thousand Leicester fans at hearing McGivern was playing was quite extraordinary. And his parents had flown in for the game, there was a big interview in the Mercury about it
Matt Posted 21 March 2010 Posted 21 March 2010 P.S.: What was with Berner that he couldn't play today (and that in front of his parents who had allegedly flown in just for this game)? Calf strain, I think Pearson said it was precautionary that he didn't play and just rested him.
