Was having a look at the cost of points because of late goals this season, and actually we've gained more points because of them.

These are the games where goals after the 80th minute have affected the result:

Watford (A)- 80th Min 2-3 ... FT- 3-3... 1 point gained.

Middlesboro (A)- 80th Min 0-0.... FT 1-0... 2 points gained.

Plymouth (H)- 80th Min 0-0... FT 1-0... 2 points gained.

Scunny (A) 80th Min 1-0... FT 1-1... 2 points dropped.

Coventry (H) 80th Min 2-1... FT 2-2... 2 points dropped.

= 1 point gained (although depends on your interpretation of Watford (A) since we were winning 2-0 at one stage.

Not forgetting Bristol City

We should probably just sack Pearson.

We should have done that a long time ago.

Then we wouldn't be in this mess. <_<

Well it was 0-0 at 80th Min, and 1-1 at the end so not a change to the result.

Oh right sorry my bad, I thought you were just noting last minute goals.

It was obviously N.P. who wanted to change tactics in the second half.

Let's hope he learns from HIS mistake.

agreed I am blaming NP for this one.

there was a few occasions in the second half where breaks were on but we then passed back, so was aiming to avoid conceding rather than improve our lead, I have always seen attack as the best form of defense unless playing good counter attacking teams.

we still doing ok tho for the playoffs.

Gutted but all part of the learning curve for some of the younger lads in the side.

I hope Bruno Berner returns very quickly, McGivern set up their first with a quality header, the modern day Gary Coatsworth.

Shocking second half display. Once again as we have all seen so many times we thought the game was dead and as soon as we scored the 2nd we started fooking around with the ball trying to look clever.

McGivern is completely usless. Cant tackle, cant stay in position and certainly cant pass or cross.

NP got the subs all wrong. Gallagher did nothing and needed to come off with the game crying out for N'Guessan and his muscle. But he decides on a useless Frenchmen who does nothing what so ever. And why bring Howard on with mins to go? He was needed on 70 mins but no we kill all pace up fronty and start hitting it long to him only for fouls to be given against him.

Thoroughly pissed off, thank god we got a point in the end, we need to beat Reading to get this result out the way.

Nah he didn't set up our 2nd goal. The ball just got pinged back across the box as if by magic.

Haven't read through this thread, but I am expecting to see McGivern being ripped to pieces, when in all fairness he had a good first half, and not too bad a second half for a young centre half playing at full back. I also expect some people have questioned Pearson's substitutions.

My only complaint was that we sat back. I hate seeing that. And why have we resorted to bringing everyone back for corners and free kicks again?

Grr.

Great first half, terrible second.

I was getting fed up of the countless long balls to no where land in the second.

a points a point. I thought we'd draw before.

Still in the playoffs. puts a smile on my face.

Bring on Reading.

Nah I've only seen a couple of McGivern criticisms. He looked good, and not as weak or disorientated as when he has played previously. Thought we would have had a bit of a crisis if he had gone off after his injury!

Frustrating but a fair result.

The first half was great, some of the best attacking play we've had this season, the second half was kick & rush as if the players beilieved Waggy had grown 6 inches in the break. They didn't so much get better as we dropped down to their level.

We're still fine for the play-offs, still on paper the fourth best team in the division and if we finish the season going up the last thing anyone will think about is the day we dropped two points to Cov. Saturday's game is a far more important derby than this one.

Suppose thier second goal was a bit of rough justice... after seeing our second goal in 50 billion different angles... I have to say that all of the ball wasnt over..

Played very well first half... Second half was diabolical...

But as long as we stay put untill the end of the season, i will be happy... And i suppose many other fans will be aswell :P

We have to look at the positives. We didnt lose its a point its better than nothing were 8 points clear of 7 th yes its annoying but thats footall the main thing is were still in the play offs :scarf:

Let's put it in perspective. We have 61 points with 9 games left. Usually, 75 points guarantees you a play off place. I don't think a team with 75 points at the end of the season has missed out on a play off position,at least since 2004-05. So, in theory (and it is only theory) if we were to win four games and win two, we should be play off placed.

So, we can win 4, draw 2 and lose 3 and we should be alright.

Or, we can win 3, draw 5 and lose 1 and we should be alright.

You get the impression.

If he was good god help us definately responsible for the first goal. I know he is young but if he is poor should not be picked better someone from the academy who afterall would be our player

Excellent in 1st half, 2nd half we just sat back and stopped playing completely thinking we had already won. To allow a piss poor Coventry side back into it was very poor really. They were really, really shit.

I don't think so you muppet, we were shit in the first half, but in the second half it was all us, we could have taken the 3 points quite easily and we have the 2nd best form in the league since January, all I can say is see you next season, there is no way you bunch of muppets will get promoted, actually it would be funny if you did, you would finish bottom of the league with the lowest points total ever recorded, and now that would be funny.

Oh, you just thought we'll settle for the draw rather than going for the 3 points 'easily'?

Great logic

Really? But you felt sorry for us, so didn't bother? Or could you not be bothered?

My counting days are over.blush.png

I don't think our shutting up shop was intentional, I just think that when teams close us down with a tough physical approach we have no answers and can't cope, it's when we need a tough tackling midfielder in there.

The guy that laid out McGivern, I thought there was a fair degree of intent in that, he was never going to get his head to the ball and just went straight to McGivern's face.

Despite where we are and the fact we got a point today, I find it a bit worrying that we can be neutralised that easily. I don't know whether this was a one off, but it certainly is a warning to NP and the players that if we get to the playoffs, we should be prepared to face a pressing side.
