Daggers Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 MILAN MANDARIC is praying he has something to smile about after a summer of heartache even threatened to spoil his daughter's wedding. The Leicester chairman has appointed Nigel Pearson as his SIXTH manager in 16 months. And former Portsmouth owner Mandaric admits the fall-out from the Foxes' relegation to League One in May hit him hard.He said: "The one bright spark for me was my daughter Jasmina getting married but our relegation affected me in every other way."I neglected my family and other associates but now I am trying to bring myself out of it."THOSE MANDARIC MANAGERS IN FULL:Leicester - Rob Kelly, Nigel Worthington, Martin Allen, Gary Megson, Ian Holloway.Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/article1321034.ece#ixzz0m286tJIS Plenty on here were underwhelmed with his appointment, some even went as far as writing him off before seeing a single competitive match played under him.Throughout last season, we frequently had those who were slating his approach to the game - and yet here we are: two seasons on and he's delivered us within a sniff of Wembley.Pearson, I salute you.
Babylon Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Still not enough for some though. Pearson definitely is God.
Benji Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 If we don't get this mans new contract sorted out it will be the biggest crime of the century. No matter how the play-offs pan out, this has been a monumental achievement.
Craig Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Take away the sides who got relegated from the Premiership, and we've finished 3rd. It's a great achievement, but it could be so so so much more...
davieG Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Pleased to say I was for him from the moment I heard him speak. Congratulations to Pearson, his team and all the players, whatever happens from here on in this has been a successful season. Same goes for Andy King misunderstood, under rated but easily proved his worth.
lcfc_jme Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 If we don't get this mans new contract sorted out it will be the biggest crime of the century. No matter how the play-offs pan out, this has been a monumental achievement. I think that's the best way to sum it up, in all honesty. To go from battling-relegation for a couple of years and then actually going down, to winning a notoriously difficult-to-get-out-of league at the first attempt and finishing in the playoffs in a division above where we've been awful for ages is nothing short of sensational. Pearson is certainly a special, special manager. Tremendous.
Messi Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 What a hero this man is; he has completely turned the club around in the last 2 years, along with his backroom staff. Please Milan make him sign a new contract, NOW!! We Are Going Up, Come On City!!!!
Jodranadinho Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 i feel the need to bow down to him next week :worship:
Ozwin Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 I won't lie, I wasn't best pleased when we hired him but he's gone about his business in thr right way and has completely won me over.
Anish Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Outstanding manager. He's had a monumental impact on this club and transformed us into a quality side. Nobody could've foreseen what he's achieved and he deserves every praise the job he's done here.
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Not so much against him, just didn't think the squad was anything like strong enough to sustain the form of the first half of the season. A win against the Smoggies next week would give us a 38/38 haul over both halfs of the season. Absolutely immense. But what's really got me scratching my head is that if the knocks and niggles clear up over the next two weeks, we're heading into the play offs as the form team and with the strongest squad we've had for yonks. That man is class.
Mort Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 The man who gave the club back the pride and dignity we'd been missing since MON Hope he's here for a long time to come!
Sylvie85 Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 The man has true character, he has achieved a lot with us with such a small budget. For me he is up there with the best city managers. Thank you nigel.
maddog Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 He's done a wonderful job, lets hope he doesn't go and leave us now for a better club next season should we fail in the playoffs, or do an Owen Coyle on us He's played some dodgy tactics at times and made some wrong subs, played some brilliant tactics and made awesome subs, but as i'm sure he will say it's a result business and him, his staff, and all the playing staff have gathered enough points for a playoff place, so they will all be loved. But he will know if results go wrong next season then things can change quickly. Pearson's is the most professional manager i have ever seen us have, he will know this, and hopefully stay with us and continue the incredible improvement. But there is still a massive task ahead of us, winning these playoffs would be unbelieveable, losing in them though could demoralise everyone for next season and undo some of the progress we have made, i pray we can get through the next 3 or possibly 4 games with wins Well done NP
Salieri Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Whatever happens from now until the end of his reign here, the man has earnt his place in Leicester City folklore. He's turned our club from a laughing stock into a club now knocking on the door of the Premier League. Legend.
Daggers Posted 24 April 2010 Author Posted 24 April 2010 The first manager to have two threads about him running concurrently? I think that speaks volumes.
CKB Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 I'm seriously thinking about asking the missus if we can change our upcoming baby's name to Nigel Pearson.....
