flanimal Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Been hearing some rumours that Wayne Brown is finished at Leicester after a training ground problem. Just wondering if this is nonsense or if there's anything in it?!

flanimal Posted 12 May 2010 Author Posted 12 May 2010 I think someone joked that he was out because he voted BNP I thought maybe he had gone to re-join The Fantastic Four?
Guest DavidJCW Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 He should be finished at Leicester regardless of whether there's a training ground problem... he's crap and if we get another better CB in and Tunchev back from injury, he'll be surplus to requirements.

Jimmy Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 if Tunchev gets fit, and that's a massive if, and we were to sign Bruce then with Morrison as well we could move him on but he is far from crap and has played a key role in the side all season and been a real leader on the pitch, something we are really short of.
Edmund Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 I fear Tunchev will never play for us again. He's been out for a season and a half with a recurring injury. That's a huge amount of time to be out of the game. I really hope that's not the case and we see him back at his best in a Leicester shirt. It would also be a complete travesty for the guy and this club as he showed so much class.

I prefer Bruce and Hobbs, but Brown isn't that bad. He can't pass the ball but he can defend well and doesn't hold back when a bollocking is needed. Tunchev I fear won't be the same player as before.
Guest DavidJCW Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 OK, saying he's crap was a bit OTT as he's clearly not if he's playing Championship football... but I still think we can do a lot better than him. Plus, he's rather deluded. He actually thinks that if we get promoted he'll hold down a regular place in the team... surely we'd be looking to get someone better in considering he can't hold a place down now.

If any player doesn't think he is good enough to hold down a place in the team then I don't want them here

I agree 100% . Also if he was crap, NP wouldn't be putting him on the field in a City shirt. He can be a bit inconsistent, but he's had a lot more good games than he has had bad ones. He's also been MOM in a few games. Having said all of that, I really do like the look of Alex Bruce, & hope that NP will sign him on a permanent basis. It's not looking good for The Tunch, one of the best central defenders we have had & certainly would be good enough to play in the Prem.
goal-mangal Posted 12 May 2010 Posted 12 May 2010 Brown is good Championship player . But in prem, not. - Goal -
the buckwheat Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 I think someone joked that he was out because he voted BNP That's not a joke, Wayne confirmed and explained his vote for BNP, and then there was an altercation between him, Dyer, and Vaughan Powell was crazy After that difficult for Pearson to do a team with 3 clans just before the 1st leg 1- Pro Brown 2- Against Brown 3- Peaceful group

Never want him here at the club. But this is probably one of those dumb stories. Who was in the Pro Brown group?

flanimal Posted 13 May 2010 Author Posted 13 May 2010 Wayne Brown voting BNP ! This is surely a joke. I bet he was injured or something. One of those crazy stories.

Anish Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Whatever the truth is, I think we missed him against Cardiff. Time and time again Bothroyd kept moving to where Bruce was positioned and bullied Bruce on the aerial balls. We definitely missed Brown's strength and power in the air, not to mention his positioning. I thought defensively we looked vulnerable in both legs and I don't think Bruce is the long term answer (although neither is Brown, but I think we would've coped better against Bothroyd).
Sods Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Its cruical that we have a centre back that plays on the left side closest to the left back. Tunchev can do anything, but i think his playing days maybe over, Hobbs and Bruce are very right footed.

I felt what we missed most of all was his terrible distribution. Get rid. Being brave and committed does not make up for slagging off fans, (allegedly) causing racial tension in the dressing room and being incapable of kicking a football straight
MC Prussian Posted 13 May 2010 Posted 13 May 2010 Whether this training ground altercation story is true or not (and it sounds rather silly), it strikes me as odd that he was replaced by Bruce for the playoff semi-finals. Especially given his recent form (although I must say Bruce did a real good job on Sunday, clearing an almost clear-cut chance for the opposition in the second half). Brown, just like Howard, had slowly but steadily regained confidence and found out of a dire slump. He played really, really solid towards the end of the season and at no point was there any sign of an injury that would keep him out of the games against Cardiff. Also, I haven't seen anything on the OS in the build-up to the home leg that stated the reason for Brown's absence. Usually, injured players are called just that on there.
