Stand UP... Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I was just wondering if there was any photos of the fosse boys from the sunderland game. coming soon mate
KFS Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Lads what you're doing makes me proud, you up for letting me sing the new songs at Palace? Get em going! P.S- stop arguing, it's ruining the good idea For both parties.
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Someone with a brain tell this little gobshite that you will only succeed with the support of others, not by alienating them. 'sfunny how people so often think their side of the argument has all the people on it who can take a joke and keep things in proportion while the other side are all, er, gobshites. I read the comment about bovril drinkers (I happen to like the odd bovril at a footy game, as it happens) and paid more attention to the essence of the post that the Fosse Boys were trying to negotiate with the club in order to have an area of the ground to stand in which is under-occupied and behind everyone else, thus accepting the worst view in the stadium for the sake of not upsetting the people who prefer to sit quietly, while you reacted to the epithet 'bovril drinkers' and interpreted it as being an attempt to alienate other supporters. I think it's actually pretty clear from the posts in this thread that the lads behind the Fosse Boys initiative are well aware that they need to maintain a healthy mutual respect with the rest of Leicester's supporters, that they're going out of their way to demonstrate such a positive attitude (witness them putting the flags away this afternoon when stewards asked them to, and also the fact that they responded to the rumour mill at half--time by going quiet in the second half rather than escalate the situation) and they probably don't need helpful advice delivered in tones like that above.
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 If someone really wants to know what was said during the commentary today, and can bear to listen to the whole thing to check, it seems it is now available on iPlayer. If Stringer is now willing to give the Fosse Boys some air time on RL then it might be best just to let it ride, but if the club's reaction today was in any way coloured by what was or wasn't said on the radio then it might be important to get him to correct any inaccuracies, at least privately to the club if not on air. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p001d7m1

Ozwin Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Cheers for that, the first reference is just past 1:10.00 Good man, someone should create a little time list of all the references so we don't have to spend ages finding them ourselves. I'd do it but I'm washing my hair.
Asha Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Good man, someone should create a little time list of all the references so we don't have to spend ages finding them ourselves. I'd do it but I'm washing my hair. But actually, I think there may be an earlier references as Stringer says 'the fans Charles Dagnall was talking about earlier'. I cut straight to the game though.
lildave3 Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 LMFAO the Fosse Boys sound like they are being complete twats! Stringer just commented on them and said that they were going mad and the stewards were telling them to sit down, oh dear. Also... I thought the Fosse Boys said they weren't bringing flares? Lying bastards! Apperantly they got them took off them when they tried to get into the ground. Shut up. They all got pissed before the game and turned up with a 'let us do what we want' attitude, that for me is enough to be put off by them. This is a forum, incase you wasn't aware... Everyone comes on here to voice their own opinions, I gave you mine and you didn't like it Goon. Don't care about your apologies either. Also, that's bullshit from Stringer. Just listened to the link provided above and he clearly says Fosse Boys wanted to bring flares and flags to Leicester City yet he's denying it to everyone?? What's that about. Also, Portuguese contingent?
Salieri Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Fair play to those who went and formed what is hopefully the beginning of a successful attempt to raise the enjoyment/atmosphere levels at the Walkers. Can't wait to witness it myself in the not too distant future, i'm sure the group will go from strength to strength. Remember, people don't like change but they will get used to it, and hopefully embrace it in the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down.
Lillehamring Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 It sounds like it went very well. I don't go to the pre-season games so I'm looking forward to the new season to see the impact in the stadium. Whether Ian Stringer said anything or not, he seems ok from his responses and seems like he will probably be quite complimentary over the season, drawing attention to the group. Fair play to all the 40 or so people involved in the group. I hope it brings the much needed atmosphere back to the stadium. totally, agree - i think you lot need to just satisfy yourselves that you were right and he made the reference - he obviously knows what he said and feels pretty dumb about it, but it seems he wants to put it behind him cause he knows you're going to be around for awhile. be humble, take it like gentlemen and work with him to help you rather than hinder you.
Mikey Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Thought it was a fairly successful outing for us today. It was always going to cause a bit of controversy to start with, seen quite a few smiles in our direction though as well as disapproving looks. Most of it was just baffled stares tbf . Don't know why Stringer said what he said either. 1st half was good fun, 2nd half we sat in silence as Barclay said we were 'standing up to much' so we respected his wishes and sat down in silence. Personally think Viva Leicester was oversung a bit, and think that the songbook does need expanding, but obviously it will do in time. Think some more player chants would be welcomed.
Lillehamring Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Will get round to answering them all. Bear with me - having any sort of alternative opinion seems to generate a lot of replies on this thread... <_< have you ever considered the fact that maybe the fosse boys started this thread to discuss how to set up an ultra group, and that there is a time and a place on FT for deliberately being obtuse and trying to rub everyone up the wrong way... yes, it's a forum, and yes everyone's entitled to their opinion and blah blah blah, but maybe just for once you'd stop playing devil's advocate in this thread and leave them to it. constructive criticism of how to advance ' the cause', fair enough, but trolling and finding fault for your own pleasure is so counter productive, if you don't want the fosse boys, write to the club and complain.
LCFC_Josh Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I thought they sat down in the second half because of the rumors that were said. Any way im most likly to be wrong.
Poakey Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I think all this could end up bringing good publicity for Fosse Boys, looking forward to joining in next home game, my bro was with you lot and loved it. My only concern is the sssshhhhh ing of those who dont join in. Bollocks to those who are waiting for this to fail, hope all this makes the group stronger. Shame about this Andy guys comments as he has an ace avatar.

Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 have you ever considered the fact that maybe the fosse boys started this thread to discuss how to set up an ultra group, and that there is a time and a place on FT for deliberately being obtuse and trying to rub everyone up the wrong way... yes, it's a forum, and yes everyone's entitled to their opinion and blah blah blah, but maybe just for once you'd stop playing devil's advocate in this thread and leave them to it. constructive criticism of how to advance ' the cause', fair enough, but trolling and finding fault for your own pleasure is so counter productive, if you don't want the fosse boys, write to the club and complain. Bakey Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Still a pretty good day all round. Nice to meet a few people off here from the first time, and I definitely felt part of something good today. Well done to Fosse Boy and LCFC Arab who have got together a fantastic group, and to begin with it went so well. Loved it standing on the edge next to Father Ted, and had no idea how much so called 'controversy' we were causing. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but second half I think we decided amongst ourselves to sit in silence as a sort of protest, and then we walked out on 80 mins. I was right on the edge, and had quite a few comments directed at me from some of the fans to my right. They were complaining we were too repetitive, and that we weren't singing 'Leicester songs'. A couple of others were almost outright angry that anyone was making an attempt to sing. A young lady to my right gave me quite a bit of verbals, too Afraid the abuse you got from them fans was perhaps due to your over enthusiasm, which, as it appeard to me and several others, look like you were antagonizing them. Not shooting you down for having a good time but constantly aiming your singing/scarf waving and even sitting down at the group of fans too your right (almost although they were away fans) was perhaps OTT.

Wasn't aware we were aiming anything at anyone.
Bakey Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Wasn't aware we were aiming anything at anyone. Well........... It looked that way from where I was standing.
lildave3 Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Wasn't aware we were aiming anything at anyone. He's on about Nussul, not everyone.
Jodranadinho Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I think for the majority of the game we all had a good time without annoying others around us, but when someone decides to hold up their scarf and sing directly at others does over do it.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Aboslutely loved the game today first half really showed what we are capable of to get those number and that noise for a first game is massive we will have alot more people for the league games (maybe not boro but we need to get organised) thanks so much for everyone who came today and got involved and to everyone who is supporting us on this forum we never once got asked to sit down by any stewards and i would personally like to thank a steward called mark who was sound he really is a credit to the club, we need more stewards like him he realised we werent hooligans and just wanted to enjoy football like it should be enjoyed we sat down in the second half because people behind the scenes at the club werent happy by what we did first half (sing) and were threatening to not help us any further with wanted we wanted to do so we sat down like the club wanted we used the first half today to show what we could do and i think we did just that the fosse boys have no problems with how anybody wants to support leicester city we have showed that by saying we want to move to an empty part of the ground so we dont get in anyones way if people like what we do and want to get involved then move to us! our 'viva leicester' chant was probably over done today, but it got people sitting down can someone who was involved with us today honestly say they didnt love jumping up after everyone was sat? i cant wait till we are all organised and all have our seats sorted in SK1 with regards to what was said on the radio today... as you all have gathered, no one had flares we really arent that retarded (although we cant wave flags) and no one was shitfaced! well no one was REALLY shitfaced the club know that, they know we didnt have any flares so what was reported on the radio doesnt affect us what so ever i would love us to have the media on our side, hopefully they could help us get the club to let us have flag poles! OH! a kid next to us was allowed a flag pole i wasn't very ammused i heard a rumour he killed 11 people but anyway hopefully people who were a bit skeptical about us have learnt a bit more about the fosse boys if anybody wants to get involved with us get your self known on our website http://fosseboys.webs.com we are a friendly bunch thanks again everyone hopefully we will carry on growing! VIVA LEICESTER!!
Lillehamring Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Find me one of my posts from today that is all of the above see, you're at it again, you seem to just be looking for confrontation... can't you recognise that this thread isn't about you trying to prove that you know better than everybody else, starting pointless debates about non-fosse boys stuff. there's two pages worth of stuff based on Here's a genuine question - If it turns out that the majority of the fans didn't want this, would you respect their democratic right and call it a day? this is a thread to organise the fosse boys, of course people will respond because they get pissed of with people posting negative dismissive crap throughout the thread, who gives a fook about the majority of fans, if you want to discuss them start a thread for people who want a library-like walkers. oh and Not convinced - my friend who sat up near you said you guys were taking the piss and 'Shhh'ing fans who asked you to sit down or quiten down. that reads to me like you're trying to rub the fosse boys up the wrong way, some second hand my-mate-says negativity, which turned out to be misreported anyway. why don't you just leave them to it now i'm going to practice what i preach and stop cluttering this thread up any further with off topic posts.
