ousefox Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 To be fair if I had been involved in setting all of this up (given the amount of effort that appears to have gone into it), I'd be extremely angry if that loudmouth tit started spewing potentially damaging lies about the group on public radio that lots of people will have listened to. He didn't really. He just commented about how they were a group with flags and flares- obviously not knowing the full facts and that the group are trying to distance themselves with the use of flares. I don't think he was saying anything malicios against the group at all.
easilee Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Here's a genuine question - If it turns out that the majority of the fans didn't want this, would you respect their democratic right and call it a day? That's a really crap genuine question logic.
Narborough_fox Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Brilliant first half lads, have no idea what happened in second half. Other half of the stadium! Like a library at points put my ipod in which I have never done before. The atmosphere without you lot is SO SO poor and whatever anyone else says to you ignore and keep up the hard work, every part of success you deserve!
Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I do love the way people don't understand a democracy. Go on?

I know it's only a friendly but if you come to a City match to take in the atmosphere even if it is shit, not to listen to music.

Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 That's a really crap genuine question logic. I'm genuinely intrigued - shame no-one is prepared to answer it.
Kenners Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Really good atmosphere today. Nobody was out of order and we all stuck to what we were allowed to do.There was a great mix of people there and everybody involved had a good time. As to the sitting down in the second half I thought I knew why, but other posts are different to what I believed. Best to wait til a post from Arab or someone similar before I make claims though. Also, if some people in the stadium believe that sitting nicely and cheering when the opposition misses is the norm what difference is that to us believing the norm is to enjoy yourself and have a good time? If they have the right to enjoy themselves in their way, surely we can enjoy ourselves in our way?
Stand UP... Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I'm genuinely intrigued - shame no-one is prepared to answer it. shame you didnt answer mine
Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Hears a genuine question, if you want to pay £30 to watch city play every week sitting on your arse, texting and listening to your ipod and telling everyone to sit down that are trying to bring back the Filber Street days whilst sitting in a bowl thats as loud as a libary would you still go? Does it have to be one or the other? PS Nice to see the associations you're making by me asking a simple question
haraven Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I don't think democracy will solve this - as a matter of fact it has nothing to do with the debate. There are however several forms of democracies, one even anarachists will submit to (direct democracy). To the matter at hand, people have been moaning for YEARS how the atmosphere of Walkers is almost NONE compared to Filbert Street. I can personally vouch for that! Now we have a bunch of 40-50 people trying to change that - they want to make noise, give our boys an extra kick (ask any pro, they love it when the fans get behind them) - so why is so many on this forum hellbent on giving the Fosse Boys such a hard time for trying beats the hell out of me. People are allowed to have different ideas on how to support your team, and yes, many will want to show up and idle sit and watc hopefully good football - others wants to come and scream their lungs out in support of the team. Here's a thought though; It can both be done at the fracking same time! You're all fans of the same club, start supporting your brothers in arms instead moaning. I think perhaps Forest would appreciate your moan support instead. Keep up the good work Fosse Boys!
Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 shame you didnt answer mine Will get round to answering them all. Bear with me - having any sort of alternative opinion seems to generate a lot of replies on this thread... <_<
Narborough_fox Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 So why didn't you make some noise rather than putting on your ipod? Only last 10 minutes, I tried for the first 10 in the second but whenever I try I can never get it going. I always feel a little embarrassed when I try I think that I'm used to the quite atmosphere I just don't try, from what I have heard it sounds like the fans have changed in the last 10 years and i wish they didn't!
Stand UP... Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Does it have to be one or the other? PS Nice to see the associations you're making by me asking a simple question Blame yourself for that. You should know the answer in terms of being one or the other
Jay Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 so where is the plan for Fosse boys to be situated for the first league game?
Houdini Logic Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Houdini- how do you suppose the mJority of fans would let us know they disapprove. But yes if you can organise a ballot of the 22000 regular fans that Attend the Walkers and over 11000 disaprove I personally will leave the Fosse Boys Yeah that's a really good point. Tell you what - I better stop having an opinion on the Middle East until I fly out and do some surveys Dictionary - Hypothetical
LCFC_Josh Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Its really good what you lot are doing and i hope with all the effort you people have put in this will all pay of and one day the walkers stadum will have a good atmosphere.
Stand UP... Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 so where is the plan for Fosse boys to be situated for the first league game? LCFC ARAB will answer that but i believe SK1, at the back obviously so not to disturb the bovril drinkers
leftsideoverhere Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I'm genuinely intrigued - shame no-one is prepared to answer it. Possibly people have better things to do with a Saturday evening? For what it's worth, I'd say that democracy doesn't necessarily mean that the majority of fans at a football match get to tell the minority how to behave while they're watching the game. If this notional majority of yours voted in favour of singing and jumping up and down, would it mean that people who preferred to sit quietly would be thrown out the ground? Arrested? Insulted? Why should it? Conversely, if the majority choose to support their team in a restrained fashion, why should they then try to impose that style of support on everyone inside the ground. It's a big enough stadium that it can accommodate groups of fans doing their own thing without interfering with one another's enjoyment of the game. What you're calling democracy sounds more like a dictatorship to me, albeit a dictatorship of a majority.
Smudge Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Here's how it came down. Someone, I believe it was Stringer himself, asked who that lot were over there, all by themselves making a noise singing and chanting. Sinclair, said I don't know, then Stringer said "Oh, I may know something about it" They're from some Internet site or something like that; presumably he had read or been told about Fosse Boys on here. He did mention flags and flares in a very off the cuff way. He then said we'll get Charles Dagnall to investigate at half time. If you read yesterdays posts, there was a lot of chat about flares and if he'd just glanced through it he might have misunderstood what the group was about. Any flares going off tomorrow? A guy named Lee sent a text to Dagnall and explained what it was all about. In fairness he put a good spin on what you guys are trying to do. While all this was going on there was a lot of dialog from here as you can read; which presumably, got everyone agitated at the ground. (I spared you the flared up pun). Gary came on later to remonstrate with Dagnall who categorically denied the comment by Stringer and unfortunately I heard Gary apologize; which needn't have done. Sinclair gabbles on for two hours and talks about all sorts of crap, I'd be amazed if he remembers much of anything. Seems to me the sooner you put this behind you and learn from it, the soonest mended, I wouldn't be making any formal complaint, you need the media on your side.
Asha Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 Still a pretty good day all round. Nice to meet a few people off here from the first time, and I definitely felt part of something good today. Well done to Fosse Boy and LCFC Arab who have got together a fantastic group, and to begin with it went so well. Loved it standing on the edge next to Father Ted, and had no idea how much so called 'controversy' we were causing. I'm not exactly sure what happened, but second half I think we decided amongst ourselves to sit in silence as a sort of protest, and then we walked out on 80 mins. I was right on the edge, and had quite a few comments directed at me from some of the fans to my right. They were complaining we were too repetitive, and that we weren't singing 'Leicester songs'. A couple of others were almost outright angry that anyone was making an attempt to sing. A young lady to my right gave me quite a bit of verbals, too

The fosse boys should be proud of what thier trying to achieve. Dont let a few moaners and groaners spoil that.

Most of your post is talking about the integrity of the group, which isn't actually anything to do with what I'm talking about. Anyway - how can you say democracy won't solve this and isn't anything to do with this debate?! That's insane. If 20,000 (THIS IS A HYPHOTHECTICAL NUMBER) want to watch the football without the Fosse Boys singing and standing for 90 minutes then surely they should be allowed to? Regardless of whether you and I think this is right or wrong surely it is their right?
easilee Posted 31 July 2010 Posted 31 July 2010 I'm genuinely intrigued - shame no-one is prepared to answer it. Because it shouldn't, wouldn't couldn't, ever happen. The question is a pure waste of time.
