I did read it and it didnt make up for what you said, where was you when 40/50 of us are trying to make an atmosphere at the club in a game that means nothing, you jumped on the bandwagon listening to your radio and sitting on your arse at home whilst apparently all us lot were pissed out of our minds letting flares off right from the counting house down to the ground, didnt you see the mist of red surrounding the walkers??

Your over reaction to Andy's post matches his over reaction.

I suggest everyone just calms down, moves on and focusses on the positives.

All this antagonism between fans does no one any favours.

It wasn't so much what you said it was more the way you said it. You came across as a right bellend, shooting the whole thing down based on one unfounded comment.

Don't give me the "you were sitting at home listening to your radio when we were down the ground" nonsense. I have had quite a few season tickets over past seasons, I guess I wasn't supporting my club either then.

I reacted to what I THOUGHT had happened, it turned out what I thought was a load of crap so I apologised. I guess an apology wasn't enough so what shall I do next? Turn up at the Palace game with a big banner saying "SORRY FOSSE BOYS" :dunno:

Well i appologise for calling you a cock, i was ASSUMING you hated what LCFC ARAB and the rest of us are trying to do.

Isn't hindsight such a wonderful thing?! And so many who are whiter than white and have never uttered a wrong word themselves. Positively saintly.

Not at all, if you go back about 10 pages or so you'll see I was supporting the idea, mentioning that I want the atmosphere in the Walkers to be improved. The only reason I over-reacted so badly is because A i'm having a sh*t day and B... I assumed something that turned out to be wrong.

If you guys HAD tried to bring flares in and HAD been ignoring stewards asking you to sit down then my comment might not have been so stupid. However that wasn't the case and I was wrong so lets leave it at that.

Ozwin... Yeah I did sound like a bellend, I admit that. It's funny how someone makes a mistake and takes back what he said but still gets murdered for it though.

I disagree, the "LMFAO" in his post was completely moronic, he also jumped at a ridiculous conclusion and it's not the first time in this thread he's waded in with an opinion without knowing any facts. E.g The bit about trouble at York games.

I know the lads involved in setting this up and they were never in a Million years going to try and take flares to this game, all the effort gone into this was not about to be ruined by another going off. I also think they've distanced themselves from them in this thread pretty well, so believing they'd brought them was incredible.

There seems to be a few in here desperate for this group to fail and I find it completely cringeworthy and this opinion from someone not involved in the group.

Blimey you lot sure do love an internet handbag drama.

You should stop worrying overly about what Stringer said or what some bloke thinks on here, and take all the positives and keep up with it.

Bit of a concern that you might have all sat down second half sulking.

Anyway more power to you.

The York incident was not clear cut though, if you speak to Luton fans they will tell you a different version of events from York fans, does anyone actually know the 100% truth of that incident?

You are bound to be so supportive of the group because you know the lads involved... I don't know them and when I ASSUMED that something like that had actually happened then obviously i'm not going to sit here and say... "Ah, seems they might have been trying to bring flares in, bah humbug"

When you are having a sh*t day everything gets magnified

I thought that despite the negative comments mentioned on RL everyone that was involved and marched down to the ground was fully behind the group and really wanted the group to get off the mark. The atmosphere we were trying to create in the first half was over shadowed by rumours mentioned in the second half. I hope people find out the real reason for us sitting down in the second half and how we are more than willing to co-operate with the stewards. cracking effort, the flags and scarves were brilliant and all I can say is bring on middlesborough at home!

sounds like a success today chaps. be good to see some photos if theres any going around.

There should be, they were taking photo's outside the pub so expect them up soon

If I may join in the mud slinging. It seemed to me that Andy was almost too eager to believe that people had arrived at the ground drunk and wanting to set off flares based on hearsay. The resulting apology wasn't actually an apology it was justification for a (dis)honest mistake.

On the flip side this was a pre season friendly where I imagine the radio audience was so small that Stringer could have claimed you were making human sacrifices and no one would have known. The fact it generated a few comments of here by people who 'thought' they heard something was also nothing to get knickers in a twist about.

I fully support what these fans are doing and are impressed (and depressed) at how accommodating they are being with respects the club in order to get this thing off the ground. I would suggest that you need to get publicity beyond this small island on the internet, whether you join in with foxpodder or something similar is up to you but I believe patience will be a virtue in terms of garnering support.

Good work lads, keep up with the singing - and pay heed to the comments about how to accept that there will always be different opinions on how one should support the club. In the end, the club needs all the support it can get - from everyone. I for one applaud what you are trying to do. :chant::chant::chant:

Vålerenga; yup, the flares in that you tube clip was pre-arranged with the club. None was sitting at the top tile. :) I am member 4567 of Kjernen ;)

Our own accord mate. Nobody asked us to do anything.

Not convinced - my friend who sat up near you said you guys were taking the piss and 'Shhh'ing fans who asked you to sit down or quiten down.

Hears the responce i got from Stringer -

Hi there Michael,

Thanks for he e-mail.

Firstly, I genuinely don't have a clue what your group were about, I stay away from message boards. I was updated throughout the game and we merely publicised the cause (because we loved seeing you jump around and make lots of noise)

I didn't mention that you were trouble, drunk, setting off flares or anything else that I've been accused of.

Good luck to you I say, I was praising the level of support actually. I'm all for vocal support and stood in the kop as a youngster.

Chinese whispers on a message seems to have come up with some untruths.

Good luck to ya I say pal.

Contact me anytime.

Up the City,

Ian

We sat down in the second half to show that we are a group who respects the rules and listens to what the club says, it was also showed what a difference in stadium atmosphere just 40 people can make. We are a non confrontational group working with the club to make are match days more enjoyable.

You should stop worrying overly about what Stringer said

To be fair if I had been involved in setting all of this up (given the amount of effort that appears to have gone into it), I'd be extremely angry if that loudmouth tit started spewing potentially damaging lies about the group on public radio that lots of people will have listened to.

Do people really want to go to a football match to hear the echos of the players shouting at each other bouncing round the ground?

Posted

Here's a genuine question - If it turns out that the majority of the fans didn't want this, would you respect their democratic right and call it a day?

I do love the way people don't understand a democracy.

It sounds like it went very well. I don't go to the pre-season games so I'm looking forward to the new season to see the impact in the stadium.

Whether Ian Stringer said anything or not, he seems ok from his responses and seems like he will probably be quite complimentary over the season, drawing attention to the group.

Fair play to all the 40 or so people involved in the group. I hope it brings the much needed atmosphere back to the stadium.

Area around Welford Road was plastered with the stickers!

What went wrong? You all sat down in the second half?

Mate sat near you lot, said people were getting pissed off with the repetativeness of one chant, and people were shouting stuff at your group.

Hears a genuine question, if you want to pay £30 to watch city play every week sitting on your arse, texting and listening to your ipod and telling everyone to sit down that are trying to bring back the Filber Street days whilst sitting in a bowl thats as loud as a libary would you still go?

Houdini- how do you suppose the mJority of fans would let us know they disapprove. But yes if you can organise a ballot of the 22000 regular fans that Attend the Walkers and over 11000 disaprove I personally will leave the Fosse Boys

People have their rights to do what they want. If they want to sit on their arse all game it's their choice (even though I don't agree with that)
