Re: Play off final

Q/ Did youguys notice how many times he was off side?

A/ None.

I just do not understand why NP & his staff couldn't get him to perform well for City.

He has done well for Blackpool, but can he cut it in the Prem?

I don't think Olly will come rushing in to buy him. No-one else will want to buy him, so imo Olly will take his time & offer max. £500k when the players report back for training.

It's not just Nigel Pearson. He was also shit under Ian Holloway, Gary Megson and Frank Burrows (remember him?!)

Mate, we'll never be rid of him.

Whenever he does so much as wins a corner next season there will be about 20 threads on here saying 'Is there a buy back option?' or something equally braindead.

any thing moer then £1 is a bonus as he aint worth a bean

That's a rather silly statement. He has scored plenty of goals for Blackpool, and Ian Hollaway appears to have no problems with him.

From The Blue Army page on ThisisLeicestershire:

Leicester City striker DJ Campbell's potential move to Blackpool is in doubt.

Initial negotiations between the clubs have revealed City and the Seasiders are miles apart in their valuation of the 28-year-old, who helped Blackpool to reach the Premier League by scoring 11 times in 18 games while on loan from City at the end of last season.

City want a sizeable fee for Campbell, with a source suggesting the initial asking price could be as high as £1.5million.

The source added that the Seasiders are unlikely to pay any big fees for players this summer, despite the financial rewards of promotion, and could even be attempting to persuade City to release Campbell on a free transfer.

Campbell is one of City's highest wage- earners and has another year remaining on his contract, and City boss Nigel Pearson is keen to offload him this summer so he can channel his wages and any transfer fee into new recruits. However, it appears the clubs are a long way off from agreeing any deal.

Other potential buyers are now being sought and Campbell's recent form will certainly attract some.

Campbell joined Blackpool in February for a second loan spell and produced the kind of form that prompted City to pay Birmingham an initial fee of £1.6m for him three years ago, although he seldom produced the same form for City.

His goals, including a hat-trick in the play-off semi-final second leg at Nottingham Forest, propelled the Seasiders to Wembley where they beat City's play-off conquerors Cardiff City to reach the Premier League.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said he wanted to keep him, Campbell has stated he wants to stay at Blackpool and Pearson wants to sell him, but initial negotiations have not been as straightforward.

The loan agreement did not include a clause that stated Blackpool had to buy Campbell after promotion, but it did include a clause that meant they had to pay City a bonus.

Meanwhile, reports linking City with Millwall striker Steve Morison again appear wide of the mark.

Morison is said to be a target for a number of clubs, including City and Premier League new boys West Bromwich Albion.

But the 26-year-old would command a fee of more than £1 million and Pearson will not have those finances to spend this summer unless he can offload players such as Campbell.

City are understood to be chasing several targets at the moment and all of them are Bosman free transfers, but no signings are likely until later in the summer.

Apart from the fact that we're bleeding like a gutted pig financially because of the DJ - I am getting bored of reading about his transfer saga to Blackpool.

C'mon Holloway, you got us relegated, have a heart and repay us by taking this piece of shit off us.

When we finally manage to get shot of DJ, do you think all topics concerning him can be closed down?

I am absolutely sick and tired of hearing about the bloke.

When he was signed, I thought it looked a good move and a partnership between him and Carl Cort could prove quite useful. 4 goals and 3 years later, I realise that I was more dillusional than whoever decided on giving him a 4 year deal on whatever massive wage he is on.

This guy was, is and will continue to be an albatross around our neck until we can get shot and move on. Never in my many years as a supporter do I remember one player causing this much hassle.

He should pay some of the £1.5M himself if he's that desperate to go, seeing as he's done bugger all for his wage packet every week since he arrived.
