davieG Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 There is no substance,no mention on bbc or skysports websites and people are coming up with ideas of the next City manager. It's getting airing on Sky Sports News as I write.
Edmund Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 I'll be gutted if we see Waghorn wearing a Hull shirt next season.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 Is there anything in this or is it just conjecture from some stranger at Hull who probably knows jack? Really, really hope this is bollocks.
Edmund Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 Is there anything in this or is it just conjecture from some stranger at Hull who probably knows jack? Really, really hope this is bollocks. It seems Hull Radio are saying they've got strong information to believe it's going through.

Been on Sky Sports News. Think it was confirmed he was holding talks (I've gathered this from reading the thread, unfortunately I can't get Radio Leicester in London)

Fair play to the stranger at Hull if this started a joke, Its certainly caused a storm. Remember the Bellion rumour about him coming here a few years ago that was a hoax by one of our fans (From this messageboard I think - Craig? Think he was involved in it ) but got quite far in the media/fans discussion I think.
Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 What a massive upwards step to those giants of English football based in one of England's most picturesque cities. Still, if money drives Pearson he can fvck off to the tinpot wonderland. I'd take Mowbray tomorrow if Pearson goes, but I'd still be sad to see him leave the club after he's made supporting City a pleasure again.
Unabomber Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 It's not that he is going that is the devastating news, it is the fact that it is to Hull. :(
nuttytimmy Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 If NP decides to leave now then he should have the best wishes of us all - after all, he bought us to within the brink of the Premier League. That's not to say I would not be critical of any move to Hull, where surely budget (and pay) would be the only benefit to him. Have they really got a better realistic chance of promotion than us next year? I don't think I can wait til Monday...

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 What the fook? just got in from work read the title of the thread. Thought yeah right, then discovered theres 22 pages on the subject. What go on? As my idol Victor M would say "i don't belive it" Time to get a better idol!

Prospero Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 I am really really distressed to learn that Nigel Pearson might be leaving us. I do not need to explain why. If it is true it can only be that he is being offered personally more money and that he feels that Hull offers a better opportunity for future premier league success, with a further boost to his reputation. If true, he must have compared the resources available to Leicester City and those available to Hull and decided that the latter offer the best bet. He is no longer a young manager and he will know that the average ordinary manager does not remain long in post; needs must! Up to now I have been a big Mandaric supporter. I can't believe that he would want Nigel Pearson to leave. He must have offered him good terms but he may not have been able to guarantee investment in the team. Having come so close last season, Nigel Pearson might feel that it is not possible to do better without increased investment. Mandaric might have disappointed him, whilst Hull do have cash - for quite a time. If Nigel Pearson does leave he will have walked out on the opportunity to consolidate Leicester's success by taking the club back into the premier league and keeping us there...for however number of seasons to come. Unfortunately, we know that clubs who rely on mercenaries as players - or managers - do not achieve long term success. If he leaves, Nigel Pearson will have let us down, despite what he has done for us and he will not necessarily do any better for Hull. England's best managers (Ferguson, Wenger, Moyes...) stick with their club through thick and thin. I had hoped that Nigel Pearson would do the same. Well perhaps he will and this is just a silly summer rumour. I sincerely hope so. Surely he is not just an extra ordinary, short term manager. Surely he aspires to be great!
Narborough_fox Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 What a change in a year, this time last year we were announcing Gallagher and Hobbs now we're worrying about our manager leaving.
nuttytimmy Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 Anyone seen this from the Merc's website? Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is being linked with the vacant manager’s job at Hull City. It has emerged that Hull have been holding discussions today with a boss who managed in the Championship last season – and Sky Sports say it is Pearson. The Leicester Mercury have so far been unable to contact anyone at City to confirm or deny the link. See Saturday’s Leicester Mercury for the full story. http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/sport/Nigel-Pearson-linked-Hull-City-job/article-2349272-detail/article.html Sorry if this has already been posted but I missed it

GaryParker Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 It's not that he is going that is the devastating news, it is the fact that it is to Hull. :( Just shows where Leicesterare in the pecking order, doesn't it. You must be gutted!
nuttytimmy Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 My bad - just thought it might show some sort of realism to these rumours. Having said that - doesn't it seem odd that despite Sky supposedly carrying this story there is nothing on Sky Sports' website?
Guest Bilo Posted 25 June 2010 Posted 25 June 2010 How many pages did the Edgar fooking Davids thread reach? For how long was I shitting myself at the prospect of having to walk through Leicester city centre as a Derby supporting transvestite? Maybe, just maybe, this will have the same credence.
