Nigel Pearson to Hull ?

Good evening gents

The original post on 606 was mine and was posted after I was tipped off by someone within the club that this was happening.

I'm sorry that you're disappointed with the prospect of losing your manager(if indeed it happens), I'm sure I'd feel the same way, though I find the derogatory posts on your site neither accurate, nor warranted. As a consequence I felt compelled to join up and address a couple of the issues that you'd raised, so here goes.

There has been some ribbing about our attendances being only 24,400 in the Premier League, this is purely down to the fact that we have 24,400 seats and we're only allowed to sell them once.

There have been some alluding to our poor historic support and that once out of the Premier League, the place will be empty. In fact in our last season in League Two we averaged 17,000, in our last season in League One we averaged 18,000, in the Championship we averaged 19,000 and in the Premier League we averaged capacity, something that could have been far exceeded had we had the seats available. I'm sure your also aware that we had never been in the top flight before and having done so, many of the new fans this attracted will stay with us and I believe that despite relegation, season ticket sales have already exceeded 17,000.

There are 600,000 people who live within a thirty mile radius of the KC Stadium and there is no other club in East Yorkshire, we are the archetypal 'sleeping giant'. We do not have the history of Leicester City, but to suggest we are a small club, or a club lacking ambition, or a rubbish town, are so wide of the mark that frankly, they show an embarrassing lack of knowledge(as do posting links to 'crappiest towns of 2005').

For anyone who's interested, here's what Hull actually looks like - http://www.dzrkingston.blogspot.com/

We are a club who've just dropped out of the Premier League, we still have a Premier League squad(albeit a rather poor Premier League squad) and we look to be holding on to most of that squad(Any idiot who believes the Mirror's story today about us paying Bullard £2m to leave is very easily led), that gives us a very strong Championship squad. What manager wouldn't like the opportunity to manage a team that includes the likes of Bullard, Barmby, Geovanni, Gardner et al ?

Add to that the very hot prospects coming through the youth academy like Cairney, Cullen, Atkinson and Cooper all of whom impressed in the Premier League last season, along with the fact that we've just bought a 93 acre site for our new training ground and centre of excellence and it's clear to see what would attract an ambitious manager to Hull City at the moment.

Stories of our financial woes are exaggerated, we have a very wealthy local businessman who is investing in the club ahead of next season, including funding the appointment of the manager and we have a guaranteed £100m of income over the next four years, before we even start on the new investment.

In short, Hull City is a club on the up, a club with massive support, a club in the middle of the East Yorkshire and you can mock all you like, even without an illustrious history, we still offer a fantastic job opportunity.

I will obviously be pleased with this appointment if it goes through and I wish you well with finding a replacement, but please lay off the insults, Hull is a great city as I hope you will find if you come next season and there's really no need to be condescending, we're the best kept secret in the north of England.

Yeah, I would take Curbs over him, but I wouldn't be unhappy if we got Mowbray either tbh.

Fair. Curbs would be the ideal choice for me, but i would take Mowbray over 99% of the other dross currently out there.

Sorry but that bit stood out. lol

If he does leave and I really really really hope he doesn't, then I would go for the Donny manager O'Driscoll

Good call. Someone poaches our manager, we poach theirs. :D

I can never understand the moral indignation that arises when another club tries to take our manager, it's not like we have never done the same...

Good articulate post there mate, however despite your comments this move is a sideward/downward step, We were, are, always will be a much bigger/better club than Hull City, this 'move' must be the result of a fall out between NP and Mandaric.

Most City fans Love NP and are baffled not at his leaving but at his leaving to your club!!

Dont worry about the insults, this site has plenty of ******.

Holy shit! I got a text today saying Hull were interested but I didn't believe it had substance. Can some one sum up the key points so far for me pleae? I got about 5 pages in and the thread was going no where...

Seriously want to cry or just moan.

Shocked...as appear most football folk reading other forums.

Yet another manager failed under Mandaric...even let down in this case. I'd like to be righteous and say if it happens, the club won't be getting my money for a while but I can't it's my football club with it's incredible ability to fook itself up when the opportunity is there to do something.

If he goes, fook them. Give us a new manager, keep the majority of the team and blast the bastards away on NYD.

Hull fan, thanks your brilliant spin post. Ally Campbell would be proud. We have a nice new stadium too which was filled every week in the Premier, we have a squad with King, Fryatt, Hobbs and Morrison all under 25 and look comfortable at Championship level. We have an academy side which went unbeaten all season in the regular league programme and once the training ground is flogged, off to Loughborough University as a base in some of the best sporting facilities in the country.

This is terrible news if true.

I would take Curbishley or Mowbray but would prefer Pearson.

It seems this entire thread already shows the four stages of grief, Denial, Depression, Anger and Acceptance. Personally I'm still on the depression stage.

Pretty much yeah, Think i've reached the acceptance stage, Yet I hope to be wrong on Monday.

Pretty much accepted it, Was worred that there was no-one out there that intrested or excited me but wouldn't mind Curbishly or Mowbray, Can't say I can think of many others that intrest me or excite me though.

I also want Milan Mandaric to put the club on the market, Doubt he will but I call on fans to pressure him this time, he has had many questions to answer in the past that have gone unanswered, He stroke lucky appointing Nigel Pearson and now there are more questions to answer which may or may not be his fault but i'd put alot of money on those questions to go unanswered yet again.

I've just left a BBQ outside to come in my house and read 21 posts because I heard something randomly about Pearson and Hull. What am I doing with my life?

Mourning, like the rest of us.
