Mornin all,

A Port Vale fan here.First of all, commiserations on (probably) losing Pearson to Hull. You guys have had shit luck with managers over the last few seasons and this must fell like a right kick in the teeth once again, especially as one of your most promising managers has decided to leave for the shambles that is Hull.

I was just wondering how likely you all reckon it is that Mickey Adams will be offered the city job?i know you all have mixed opinions of him, some good, some bad,but what he's done here at Vale has been nothing short of brilliant since he took over.He took over a bunch of losers that were dropping like shit through the leagues and possibly heading for the Blue Square Premier, and in the space of a season turned them into genuine playoff contenders. But,more importantly,he got the players performing with pride and passion, and giving 100% week in week out, something that we've sadly lacked over the last few seasons, hence our drop down to the shit division.

He is loved here at Vale Park, and it would be gutting for us if he left so soon into the rebuilding job he's doing here.

Anyway, all the best to City, whoever your new gaffer turns out to be(but hopefully not MA!).

As likely as anyone. No one can read the mind of Milan, especially not Leicester fans. No one could have predicted Martin Allen, Gary Megson, even NP was a bit of a surprise. It could be Noel Edmonds for all we know.

You've just described the strenths of Micky as a manager, that's the effect he had on our squad in a difficult time, he even got us promoted. Problem is with Micky when things start to go wrong he often struggles to get things back on track. Would I like him as our manager? I think it would be a big risk, but one that just might pay off.

I hope you keep him. Not because I've anything against him, I just think that you can never go back. It never works second time around.

I think you're right Webbo.it very rarely works second time round for managers.MA was even quoted a few months ago as saying its a big mistake for managers to go back to clubs for a 2nd go.I think he was referring to his time at Brighton,as I believe(maybe wrongly) that he had 2 spells there as boss.

strange but on skysports website under the transfer clockwatch says that Phil Brown is going to take over at Leicester according to the Daily Mail - 1. Not to sure why it is in the transfer bit and 2. There is nothing on the daily mails website......So not sure where sky have pulled this from!

Although I'd love Micky back, part of me hope he stays with you guys because it sounds very much like he's appreciated at Vale Park. If he came back here the idiots that booed Adams would come crawling back out of the woodwork.

Why oh why?

Coleman - good record at Fulham and Real Sociedad, admittedly not fantastic at Cov but not much to work with.

Jewell - great records at Bradford and Wigan, less good at Sheff Wed and Derby but arguably both clubs were on the slide before he got there.

Did a shit job at Cov if you look closely at their performance. In his first season he just kept them up when we went down, the got 53 points. The following season they got 54. Season just gone they got 54. They only stayed up the last two because unlike when we went down, there were far shitter teams who got relegated. One point gain over two seasons is shite, and he didnt have millions to spend no, but he had at least a mid table team.

No way for me.

Almost anyone but Coleman

Awful, awful record at co*

2 runs of 12 games without wins, 3 seasons of just giving up the ghost with 10 games to go.

Fooking awful manager

I don't think you can call his Real Sociedad record a good one, and the Fulham one is pretty average. The one that matters is Cov, similar club, same league and his record there is dire. Definite no.

Mowbray for me, best of a bad bunch. We can't forget how good he was at West Brom in this league.

I'm am plumping for Mowbray. Let's forget his Celtic time, it's a completely different job. With WBA he guided them to a play-off final in his first, not quite full, season. Second season he destroyed the league with them.

I don't want to knock Mowbray's achievement at Albion but don't forget he had control of a club that had played 2 of the previous 4 years in the Premiership. Therefore, with his budget and the quality of players at his disposal you would have expected WBA to find the Championship an easy ride.

That's why his Celtic record has to be taken into consideration. It gives a better all-round view of his abilities.
