leicesterfox86 Posted 1 July 2010 Posted 1 July 2010 You're a few days early: this game will be on 11 July!
marbelladave Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Hope Argentina stuff these German ****s. Strangely and without any deliberate thought I'm supporting the Fatherland... I do not even think that my distaste for the pile of shit that is Maradona is relevant here, trying to analyse as I write I really can't work it out. I have no animosity to Argentina as a country and I think Messi is brilliant but something about the team rubs me up the wrong way. Maybe its an attitude thing, mine or theirs, still I don't think my support will make much difference...
Mee Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Want the Argentina to win this one, love watching their football. I go for a 3-2 Argies.
MC Prussian Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Those two teams just don't get along well. It's been an everlasting duel since they first met in a final in 1986 (with Maradona playing for the winners). There's also the penalty shoot-out back in 1990 or the same happenings four years ago, which Germany won (again) on penalties. After a friendly some months ago (a game Argentina won 1-0), Maradona was slightly upset about Thomas Mueller participating in the post-match press conference. He threatened to leave if they were both to speak together to the press. Mueller left and Maradona had the entire stage for himself. Now, in the days leading up to this year's clash of the titans, Bastian Schweinsteiger has come up with his own verbal procedure, accusing Argentine players of "playing dirty" in general. Which mind games will prevail? I hope this will be a classic football match with a couple of goals on both sides and no competition in who-smacks-whom-harder.
Ozwin Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 So excited for this. Hoping for an Argentina win in this match and the whole WC, can you imagine Maradonna lifting the cup in front of Blatter and Platini? They'd be fuming!

I really don't get this pro Maradonna vibe, so it is definitely Germany for me. Anyway I would really like to see Germany v Holland, world war 3 on grass... PS All this political anti racism crap before the game is a nonsense, distracting and pointless! 1-0 Brilliant! Already changed my thoughts, like to see if the Argentinians can really step up, the Germans are killing them!
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Wow.....I guess the Germans are up for this, unbelievable first 5 minutes.
Tilley Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Germans have got the base of a strong, well organised and disciplined side. Then the creativity of Oezil and Muller, the Germans really are good, much better than I thought pre-tournament.
Samilktray Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Really hope the Argies can beat the Germans/Polish/Turks/Brazilians/Aborigines.
Tilley Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Really hope the Argies can beat the Germans/Polish/Turks/Brazilians/Aborigines. There's a Tunisian in there somewhere too.
Webbo Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 I don't know why but in my gut I really want Argentina to win this.
MC Prussian Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 Argentina absolutely shell-shocked by that German goal. Took them about half an hour to finally wake up and shake it off. The Gauchos have had a few threatening attacks, but lack dominance. Germany a very good, well-organised team, always good at frustrating the opposition - they're bloody quick on the counter and could've made it 2-0 if Klose hadn't missed. Also, I've noticed that they've done a proper preparation and successfully exposed that weak Argentine back four, and Romero is very, very shaky. Otamendi didn't really play in this game until he got booked. Messi is constantly double-teamed and can't create his genius plays. Tevez is moaning more than he's playing football today. I wonder - does Maradona actually care about winning this?
dandannieldanok Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 I wonder - does Maradona actually care about winning this? Nah I don't reckon so, never seen him celebrate a goal or anything, just doesn't look bothered.
Tilley Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 I wonder - does Maradona actually care about winning this? What?!
ScouseFox Posted 3 July 2010 Posted 3 July 2010 2-0, Klose. Gonna take some for Argentina to come back now.
