Edwards-lcfcfan Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 according to sky sports west ham are lining up a move for Chris Weale!
Bettsj2 Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Take the money and buy Marton Fulop!!!!! Weale did well last season but he's not the most commanding keeper in the area nor the most vocal.
dandannieldanok Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Bad news if this happens, but I'm not averse to Logan playing if needs be.
Sods Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Would only sell if some 2/3 million was involved. Top keeper, would be a big loss.
J.Lisemore Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 IF he goes after we picked him out from nowhere, then this is another example that there is no loyalty in football.
breadandcheese Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 i like Weale. He's a good goalkeeper and good communicator with the back four, but if West Ham put in a good bid for him, we'd be stupid not to accept it and look for another keeper.
lildave3 Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Bad news if this happens, but I'm not averse to Logan playing if needs be. I am.
Edmund Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Why would he want to bench warm after spending seasons sidelined? Weale strikes me as the type of guy who'd rather be playing football after being unlucky in his career with injury.

Weale strikes me as the type of guy who'd rather be playing football after being unlucky in his career with injury. I seem to remember him saying that was one of the reasons he was so pleased to move to Leicester after spending three years on the sidelines at Bristol. He'd definitely be going as a number 2 to West Ham, so if they did put a bid in that would hopefully deter him.
Edmund Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 I seem to remember him saying that was one of the reasons he was so pleased to move to Leicester after spending three years on the sidelines at Bristol. I'm sure he did. I can't see it happening as he'll know there's no chance they'll drop Green after having a great season with West Ham. His only opportunities will be limited to cup games and cover for injuries sustained by Green if any. This could be his agent drumming up interest to get a new contract as I doubt he's on a great deal considering we gave him a chance and he wasn't a first choice keeper at the time.
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Dont want to see him go. Anyway, He isn't Premiership quality. A bad loss if he goes but at least it aint Hobbs, King, Wellens . Not sure who we could replace him with though ?

You would of thought the lad would stay here, however if a bid gets accepted does he have much of a choice. I hope he stays.
Ozwin Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Wasn't he linked with Spurs a while back? I'm sure he'll stay, he seems like a smart chap.
Guest Bilo Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Sincerely hope this doesn't happen. I echo what has already been said about the likelihood of of his playing second fiddle to Green and hope this will deter him from a move.
ScouseFox Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Don't want him to go, but think it's doubtful, he wouldn't want to benchwarm all over again.
Lillehamring Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Take the money and buy Marton Fulop!!!!! Weale did well last season but he's not the most commanding keeper in the area nor the most vocal. here's your whip... here's your horse... do what you gotta do....
MPH Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 If a decent offer comes in I think MM would piggy back him down there himself if it meant a few bob for team rebuilding. Just like Pearson, Weale might feel like he doesn't have a choice... you know.. might feel like he isn't wanted any more...
STUHILL Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 I think if he does go then it will be due to the club wanting to cash in than him wanting the move!! Wouldn't play a game all season if Green kept fit.
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 Pretty sure he had a trial at West Ham when he was tipped for the big time, before he got injured years ago...?
maddog Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 If £2.5 million or more is involved with at least £2 million of that to be spent on new players it would be worth considering. But can't see it happening anyway and it would be silly to sell such a solid goalkeeper, who made so many outstanding saves, and is the only dead certain pick for our 1st team. We need to sign a few players already to sell our keeper would mean finding another one.
milan_foxes Posted 22 July 2010 Posted 22 July 2010 With Rob Green there? Even though he was shite at the WC he's still better than Chris Weale!
