Weale to Hammers

Hope he stays! He will always be first choice here, and he pulled him out of the wilderness so he should repay us a bit for that.

Someone needs to show West Ham the Derby clanger.

Pretty much gonna be echoing what everyone else has said. It'll need a sizable bid to make us sell, and you'd think he'd want to stay here and play rather than watch football, like he'd been doing for the best part of his career before joining Leicester. Hope he has some sense and doesn't want to waste his career like Steve Harper has.

Hope he stays. He's a good keeper that was a big part of our success last season, would be a shame to see him go.

For my money he was by and large indispensible last season. A solid, consistent, ever-present(ish) 'keeper is worth his weight in gold. Oh, lol at the Fulop comment as well.

Capello we feel...

I had a feeling that we may have a new keeper for the new season. Don't know why just did. Could also have been the steak i had.

Seemed to be a flapper near the end of the season, I would love to keep him though. A very good keeper has a good relationship with his defence and is very solid %90 of the time.

£2-3M, are you having a laugh?

Not at all, test out West Ham to see how much they want him and how much they're willing to pay.

I know this probably won't be very popular, but if we do sell him (and it is a big IF and i would be dissapointed to see him go), who realistically do you think we could go after?

I know this will be weird to say, but I think Westwood at Coventry or even De Vries from Swansea wouldn't be bad, but I say, I hope it wouldn't get to that stage. Tbh, Conrad, although he tries, has never filled me with that much confidence... :(

If lonergan is "rated" at £20million then 2-3 mil is far to small a figure! :)

I wouldn't rate Weale at £2-3M regardless of what other teams rate their players. Wouldn't want him to go though...

Also, why do people think so little of Logan? He's made a couple of appearances in a Leicester shirt, which isn't many but when he has played he has been great. He did save a penalty against Middlesbrough as well.

Let's be serious, Weale is a decent keeper, yes I agree he flapped a lot and didn't look as solid towards the end of last season, almost looked out of his depth at times, but for the most part a pretty solid keeper who I think we are all more than happy to have as our first choice goalkeeper. Realistically he's not worth more than £1 million, there's absolutly no chance we would get anywhere near the £2-3 million mark some people on here are suggesting. What worries me is that we signed him on a free transfer, so if we were to receieve for example a £1 million offer, Milan would take the money!!

If we got a million or two for him, given that it's a Premiership team after him, realistically we could find someone not a lot worse for less than half of that and trouser the rest. Wouldn't like to see him go, but if we can prise some cash out of them I might just about stem the flow of tears.

Preston said £20m for lonergan so I think test go up to 5. ;)

The only reason why I can think they'd value him that highly is because he's a goalscoring keeper. :D

With Rob Green there? Even though he was shite at the WC he's still better than Chris Weale!

I wonder if this touted move depends on whether Rob Green moves on, because West Ham signed Richard Wright on a free as back up. Remember, Gold and Sullivan put the whole sqaud (except Scot Parker) up for sale and Arsenal have been rumoured to be after a Keeper for ages and although Schwazer seems to be the flavour of the moment at the moment they have been linked with Green before.

As for Weale, although he does owe us something for giving a break, sometimes you have to be selfish and think of his own career as its only a short life as a footballer. If he makes the move and gets the number 1 spot, who knows, he could end up in the running for one of the three England keeper spots.

people seem to have short or blinkered memories weale kept us in loads of games last season with some great saves. definitely don't want to see him go.

How about £10m? Being little bit ridiculous if he is valued more highly than that. (Look at that mistake at sheepy stadium - embarrasing)
