Finnegan Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Is "Bale could have gone to Forest" the new "Giggs could have played for England?" There was an unsubstantiated loan that, when he was on a poor run of form at left back having been sent off a few times, he MIGHT go on loan to Forest. That's about it. He'd never have dropped down that far permanently.
Finnegan Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Good finish. I should stop reading this thread, you're about a minute ahead. That was a bit confusing
Tilley Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Samuel Eto'o has now scored (7) or assisted (3) 10 of Inter Milan's 11 Champions League goals this season.
lildave3 Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Bale is fucking insane. Big time. He's turned into a freaking monster.
StanSP Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Bale is an absolute monster. Haha David Pleat just said San Siro as San Syro. And Jenas as Jaynass.
Bugg Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Is there anyway I can stream this game? Too late now matey
Corky Posted 2 November 2010 Posted 2 November 2010 Bale is absolutely fantastic. I'm no fan of Spurs but he is superb.
Finnegan Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 What do we reaction is the best chance of seeing exciting football tonight then? I'm not watching Chelsea, I can tell you that right now. I find them boring at the best of times but when they're just going to walk Spartak? No thankyou. Shaktar and Arsenal might be pretty competitive. Did anyone watch the last AC Milan vs Real Madrid game? It's the obvious big-name-game but I can't help feeling it might just be a bit of a flop? Basle - Roma is my other contender.
Tilley Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Arsenal need a point to qualify and considering they haven't won in the Ukraine in their last 4 visits, I don't think Wenger would be too down-hearted with getting just that. Fabregas, Arshavin, Vermaelan haven't travelled, amongst others.
StanSP Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Basle - Roma might be a good watch. Think Basel will get a good result and take advantage of Roma's poor CL form this season.
MC Prussian Posted 3 November 2010 Author Posted 3 November 2010 Basle - Roma might be a good watch. Think Basel will get a good result and take advantage of Roma's poor CL form this season. I fancy Basel getting something out of this, too. This is down to numerous reasons. Mainly because Roma are in deep shite at the moment. A plethora of injured players, a club deeply indebted, players' wages not being paid on time (the July salary has just been issued). Add to that the intention of the club's owner, Rosella Sensi, to sell the troubled AS asap - 150 million Euro and the baby's yours. Bargain. Also, the Swiss FCB is on the rise, confidence is high, they've already beaten the same opponent two weeks ago at the Olimpico rather convincingly by a 3-1 scoreline. And the St. Jakob park is likely to witness a sell-out crowd tonight.
Sparky Posted 3 November 2010 Posted 3 November 2010 Think ill go with Chelsea vs Spartak then keep having a flick over to the others.
MC Prussian Posted 3 November 2010 Author Posted 3 November 2010 Bias aside, are Basle good to watch? They're one of the lucky few in Switzerland with a decent enough budget - a local heiress and multi-millionaire, part of the Basel Pharma industry, as well as other greats carry the club (including Roger Federer, who's rumoured to have spent some of his own money on the Alex Frei transfer). I'm not too much of a fan, mainly due to the love or hate figure of Mr. Frei, but I admire their recent European success (starting back in 2002). And I reel for every single Swiss team that gains us points in the UEFA coefficient race. Been to the St. Jakob Park a few times myself when my local side was part of the Super League a couple of years ago (it's only an hour by train from where I live). It's impressive. And when sold out, comes up with more than just a decent atmosphere. The current squad's a bit of a mix of unknown foreigners, young guns and established Swiss names. Fink, although lacking a lot of coaching experience, has done an terrific job so far.
