ScouseFox Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Arsenal are on a hiding to nothing trying to replicate Barcelona. They need to get Bendtner on, go two up top and mix it up with a few long balls, crosses and long shots. Barca will pass them to death, and close them down too quickly for their passing to be effective. Not 100% sure what was wrong with Messi's goal there, either.

He was adjudged to be offside after Pedro's shot. Looked a tiny bit behind the ball, to me.

They will leave more spaces for Barca to exploit by removing Song, but I agree that they need some presence up front be it in the shape Bendtner or whoever.
marbelladave Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Watching the game on TV...... It's just like watching Leicester.......
MikeyT Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Watching the game on TV...... It's just like watching Leicester....... We are better though aren't we? What they wouldn't give for Wellens and King in their midfield.
Dilkes Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Predict Barcelona 3-1. Messi to get the next 2 goals, and i think Cesc will get arsenals in last minute or something. Also ScouseFox love your sig!
Houdini Logic Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Is the ITV commentary making anyone else want to vomit?
MikeyT Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 I'm watching on Sopcast. It's Dutch on the channel i have.
StanSP Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 As usual. I've always wanted to meet Andy Townsend and give him a slap around the face til his head falls off. The whole of ITV are a shambles though. Townsend, Chiles, Matt Smith and Clive Tyldesley can all walk in front of an oncoming bus in my opinion.
ScouseFox Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Sooo, as soon as he introduces Bendtner, a goal
StanSP Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 He went for the cross If not, it was pretty special!
StanSP Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 That was even better. Excellent finish by Arshavin. Barcelona are stung.
BoneDog Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Watching the game on TV...... It's just like watching Leicester....... I just signed in to say that Arsenals second was like our second goal against Derby. Ours had a better build up but Arshavins first touch finish was excellent like Kings Thought Arsenal had blown that chance when the guy down the right didn't have the shot straight away but fair play to them they got 2 other men who caught up with play and it was a great goal.
StanSP Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Well, at least Barcelona have the away goal. That's the main thing. Barcelona will do them at the Camp Nou.
Webbo Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 well that's pleased me. Who the **** are Barcelona anyway?
BoneDog Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 What a win for the Gooners. They're still gonna have to produce something special in Barcelona but they are well capable.
ScouseFox Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Fair play on a great comeback, but Barca had a goal disallowed wrongly, and two clear penalties for handball not given. And at 2-1 with an away goal going back to the Camp Nou, Barcelona won't be too disappointed.
BoneDog Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Gutted I missed Spurs Milan last night after all the drama.
Stadt Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Gutted I missed Spurs Milan last night after all the drama. Gattuso is a legend
martyn Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Wilshere and Koscielny were fupping brilliant, carried the defence/midfield on their back respectively.
StanSP Posted 16 February 2011 Posted 16 February 2011 Wilshere was brilliant. Definitely. Bossed the middle of the park and kept Iniesta/Xavi at bay. Fair play to the lad and he's only 19 I think.
