The Doctor Posted 14 August 2010 Posted 14 August 2010 Strange desicion to sack blackwell after a week of the new season - surely if the Sheff yoo board knew he wasn't right for the job now they would have known in pre-season and could have got someone in when they had time to settle and create their own team. Also could this not have gone in the exsisting Championship 2010/2011 thread just here

Edmund Posted 15 August 2010 Author Posted 15 August 2010 I'm surprised so many of you are shocked by Blackwells signing. He's been out of favour with the fans since last season. It was always inevitable. You only have to have a quick glance at a Sheff Utd forum to realise that they are celebrating at this decision. Straight after the play off defeat Blackwell offered his resignation but was talked out of it. Ever since then it's been up and down because of raised expectations from that playoff season. A mediocre season last year is mainly to blame. Lets hope Sousa isn't dealt the same fate this season if we don't make the top 6. It's a double edged sword having a successful season as expectations are falsely raised to new heights.
