leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 http://bentleysroof.magnify.net/video/Leicester-v-Dirty-Leeds-on-Fa-2 That is sheer class. "Look at the back of his shirt..."
leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 ...and someone on here is giving me a hard time for accepting a free season ticket. The nerve Well if it was your dad buying it for you I wouldn't object...
hackneyfox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Yeah, it is becoming a little thaisome. That was amusing
THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Well if it was your dad buying it for you I wouldn't object... What if it were my brother in law?
leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 What if it were my brother in law? I wasn't really being desperately serious, but since you're asking... obviously I couldn't possibly object to someone buying season tickets and giving them to someone else as a gift, whether they're related or not is beside the point. The money for the season tickets still goes to the club. But your post implied you were being given 'free' season tickets by your 'contact' who worked either for the club or in some way related to the take over deal. In which case, your season tickets don't contribute anything to the club that we all support, and are just another 'corporate freebie' - the likes of which have played a part in ruining football and a fair few other sports in recent years. All the business suits who snap up the tickets for test matches, drive up the price for ordinary fans and then spend all day getting pissed in their 'complimentary' bar, for instance. Bitter, me? Damn right.

leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Googled "Asian Football Investment" and it's pretty clear that it's a vehicle set up specifically for this project. It doesn't seem to exist anywhere before today's announcement. The only web link was to a story in the Indonesian media: http://www.goal.com/id-ID/news/1108/sepakbola-inggris/2010/08/12/2067789/konsorsium-thailand-beli-leicester-city Konsorsium Thailand Beli Leicester City Google translate makes that... Thailand Consortium Buy Leicester City Raksriaksorn became the second Thai businessman who bought the English club. English clubs seem to have a special attraction for Asian businessmen, even if that team comes from the Division Championship. A consortium led by businessman Thailand, Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, has officially buy Leicester City. Thus, Raksriaksorn is the second Thai penguasaha who bought an English club. Earlier, former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a controversial purchase of Manchester City in the year 2006 before finally removing the club. Raksriaksorn known as a businesswoman in a business shopping center. In the last week, the network business, the King Power Group, has been a sponsor of Leicester jersey. "We are delighted the Asian Football Investment [Raksriaksorn led consortium] has to meet this agreement. I've always liked football, and look at Leicester City is the club's potential, "said Raksriaksorn reported by AFP. "Management is very good at Leicester, both inside and outside the field, and I am sure will happen blend of ambition and control team for the future was significantly better." So there we are then. We are owned by a man known as a businesswoman who's always liked football.
leftsideoverhere Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 So you do drink in the complimentary bar? I'll buy you a bitter if you go for the pies at HT? PM'd you, since we're rather dominating this thread now.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Apprently part of the deal involves renaming the club Weicester
haraven Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 The lack of detail in this transfer of ownership, or sell out, is rather frustrating. I mean I am glad to fintally see the main investor and his son (?) on lcfcworld, but they didn't really give us any idea as to what their plans are except talking about bringing the club forward. What owner would not try to bring it's club forward? I guess we will know more in the next few days, but it would be nice if LCFC would shed some light on to what sort of consortium this is, and perhaps even dash out a few upcoming plans for the next season.
MikeyT Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 http://bentleysroof.magnify.net/video/Leicester-v-Dirty-Leeds-on-Fa-2 Ohhhhhhhhh that made me smile. haha
wurmer Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I'm not surprised that all the figures are not in the open - if people know how much you've got, the prices that other clubs put on players will go up.
Jordan Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I'm not surprised that all the figures are not in the open - if people know how much you've got, the prices that other clubs put on players will go up. I'd like to believe that the reasons are more nefarious than that, and that Milan and the Thai guys are smoking cigars, drinking Veuve Clicquot and doing the supervillan "MWAHAHAHA!" laugh right now.

Sod the figures. Who actually owns the club? We know there is a guy called Aiyawatt Raksriaksorn, and we know that he has a son. Aside from this Indonesians have been mentioned. There are approximately 300 million of those though, so that doesn't really help. I was hoping for a tiny bit more clarity from the club.
Jon the Hat Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Apprently part of the deal involves renaming the club Weicester Don't be ridicurous...

SilverFox Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 They will have to be named... That requirement was why Munto finance left Notts County. Just dissapointing that we don't yet know this information. According to our chairman we would be the first to know.
KFS Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Apprently part of the deal involves renaming the club Weicester They're also employing a new force of program sellers, "you rike? You buy."
Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 What an eventful day. Went to the walkers with my mates to get their season tickets then we saw in the ticket office on SSN we'd been bought over on breaking news. We went outside and this rolled in the carpark. BBC radio Leicester arrived there too, along with the ginger bird from east midlands tonight. We saw the thai bloke (Rakman) get out his rolls royce.
Jordan Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 A handy-dandy quick guide to all the buzzwords in the official statement
Sods Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 I would be impressed with this if it wasn't for the fact that last Saturday my mate (who has a few connections i must admit) managed to sort me out a box at Chippenham Town! I say box it was actually a spot leaning against the kebab van, but proper good nevertheless and decent catering. Anyway - end of the first half and who do I notice? DAVID FOOKING OLDFIELD! Yeah that's right - turns out he is managing Brackley Town these days. Anyway I asked my mate to pull a few strings and Skip-eh sorted me out with an empty powerade bottle, but not the sort us commoners can buy - a proper hard plastic one and the cheeky devil also managed to skank me some tape for the top of my football socks - STILL ON THE ROLL! That must of been a good 2 years ago nearly, Jon Brady is the manager now. Oldfield left to coach Peterbourgh United.
Jackirius Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Wheres this £40million spending money come from that everyone was talking about a few pages back...?
Guest ttfn Posted 12 August 2010 Posted 12 August 2010 Is this the least exciting news in Leicester City history? "People with a little bit of money take over club from person with slightly less money"
fleckneymike Posted 13 August 2010 Posted 13 August 2010 They will have to be named... That requirement was why Munto finance left Notts County. Munto finance left Notts because half of their name could be seen as false advertising (I'll give you a clue it wasn't the Munto bit). Who owns Leeds? Wheres this £40million spending money come from that everyone was talking about a few pages back...? It came from people not paying attention.
