Fosse Boy Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Couldn't find a similar thread so apologise if their is one. Go on then, what's your Greatest City XI? N.B. This is YOUR XI, so you can only pick from players who have played for us since you starting supporting City (i.e.players you have actually seen play). Put them in any formation you want. Mine: GK - Kasey Keller CB - Matt Elliott CB - Steve Walsh CB - Gerry Taggart RM - Robbie Savage (somewhat begrudgingly) LM - Steve Guppy CM - Neil Lennon CM- Muzzy Izzet ST - Emile Heskey ST - Iwan Roberts ST - Steve Claridge
Corky Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Kevin Poole Simon Grayson Steve Walsh Matt Elliott Gerry Taggart Muzzy Izzet Neil Lennon Steve Guppy Emile Heskey Tony Cottee Steve Claridge
Guest Bilo Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I'll make this easy. The team that slaughtered Sunderland 5-2 the week after winning the Worthington Cup could, if it had stayed together and had a couple of additions, have made a challenge for a Champions League spot. Absolutely irresistible team.

C-man Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 Keller Whitlow Walsh Elliott Grayson Guppy Lennon Izzet Savage Heskey Claridge Somewhat predictable really. Maybe within the next couple of years the likes of Hobbs, King and Fryatt will force a rethink of formation.

Looking back, if all he ever did was score that goal at Barnsley Away (my 1st away) and against Pompey at the City Ground, he'd still get in.
Collymore Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I'll make this easy. Absolutely irresistible team. I'm surprised you're the only one to have collymore in. By far the most talented player to put on the city shirt this century

Guest Bilo Posted 19 August 2010 Posted 19 August 2010 I'm surprised you're the only one to have collymore in. By far the most talented player to put on the city shirt this century Huge talent but played very few games for us in comparison to most of the other names already touted, so not really a Leicester City great. But in terms of actual talent, an absolutely massive player. That team could have made the top six on a regular basis if it hadn't been broken up and O'Neill had had the funds that Peter Taylor was given.

s11nny Posted 20 August 2010 Posted 20 August 2010 im suprised nobody has put Gordon Banks. the best keeper by miles that leicester city, england and the rest of the world have ever seen.

And weird having a "home" game at Forest. I was on the back row, in the corner where the Bridgford Stand met the (then) Executive Stand. Does my memory serve me correctly that the goal came quite late in the game?
