Webbo Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 From the match. Logan -6.5 Couldn't fault him for the goals Lamey -6 very, very average player. Berner-6.5 steady without being brilliant. Hobbs-7 Moreno -6 not convince he can defend, unimpressed with his passing. N'Guessan-6hit and miss, mainly miss. Oakley-7 fair I thought. Wellens-7.5 good. Dyer -8.5 the only player who looked liked achieving anything. Extra .5 for the goal. Gallagher-6 tried to be too clever more than once Howard-6 badly off the pace Subs - Moussa-6.5not on long but some good signs. King-6 not much impact Fryatt -6 As above
acooling08 Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Cba with detailedvdescriptions but anyways: Logan - 7 Moreno - 7 Lamey - 6 - Lazy, not up to it yet. Prefer Neilson. Hobbs - 7 Berner - 8 Dyer - 9 - Only player who shone. Oakley - 6 - Not good enough Wellens - 5 - Awful passing N'Goosan - 6 Howard - 6 - Huffed and puffed Gally - 5 - Blew his chance to shine.

Logan - 6 Lamey - 6 Berner - 6 Hobbs - 7 Moreno - 6 N'Guessan - 6 Oakley -4 Wellens - 6 Dyer - 9 Gallagher - 5 Howard - 3 (He's passionate, but simply not good enough. HOW has he earned a new contract!?) Subs - Moussa - 7 King - 6 Fryatt - 6
milan_foxes Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 7.5 - His kicks are better than Weales. Lamey - 6 - Shite. Hobbs - 9 - Solid as always. Moreno - 4 - Fooking shite. Berner - 7.5 - Cool under pressure. N'Guessan - 8.5 - Good attacking. Oakley - 9 - Got stuck into everything. Wellens - 3 - SOMEBODY SHOOT HIM! Dyer - 9.5 - Fooking magic. Howard - 7 - Wasn't his day. Gallagher - 6.5 - Nothing worked for him.
J.Lisemore Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 6 - okay. Lamey - 4 - pfft. Hobbs - 6 - average Moreno - 3 - hes just shite. Berner - 6 - average DNG - 4 - poor. Wellens - 6 not bad Oakley - 5.5 - average Dyer - 8 - Lively Gallagher - 4 - lost. Howard - 5 - poor.

The Doctor Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 6.5 - made a good save in second half, could have been out faster for their first but overall an average performance Lamey - 5.5 - Poor, Why was neilson dropped for this joker? Berner - 6.5 - didn't do much but did fine with what he did Hobbs - 7 - Looked more comfortable than he has done so far Moreno - 5.5 - Passing off, Heading poor. Fouled for their first (not given) but should have cleared earlier Dyer - 9 - biggest threat, quality strike N'Guessan - 6.5 - Average. At times tried to do too much and squandered good chances Oakley - 6.5 - Average Wellens - 6.5 - Average Howard - 6 - Didn't win much Gallagher - 6 - Anonymous Subs Moussa - 7 - Some good signs there Fryatt - 6.5 - Off the pace, had a couple of good chances - felt pulled down as about to shoot with one of those chances - Penalty? King - 7 - Better than oakley or wellens, Brilliant finish for the disallowed goal.
Father Ted Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan 7.5 - Couldn't have done much with either of the goals. Was solid and commanding, fantastic kicking and was something different. Lamey 6 - Average, prefer Neilson. Hobbs 8 - A rock as usual and put in a cracking tackle in the 2nd half. Moreno 4 - Can't head, can't tackle, no positional sense, too slow. His fault for both goals. BRING BACK MORRISON. Berner 6.5 - Solid apart from a couple of blips where he got done for pace. N'Guessan 6.5 - Saw glimpses of danger from him with great changes of pace and strength. But again, inconsistent. Oakley 6.5 - Put in some decent tackles but average imo. Wellens 7.5 - Seems to be the Wellens of Doncaster. He was turning the screw at times in midfield, made a cracking run in the first half and was unlucky that it was called offside. Looked tired by the end, but that's a lack of fitness for you. Dyer 8 - On fire, got the goal and could have had a couple more. Gallagher 6.5 - Contributed little. I don't think striker is his best position, but has more ability than just playing on the wing. I really think he should be toughened up and to be stuck in the centre of the park. Howard 6.5 - Average. Won his fair share of headers but apart from that, nothing. Fryatt 7 - Showed more of a threat than Gallagher and Howard did. King 6 - Was quiet, deserves to be treated better by the greasy Portuguese. Moussa 6 - Seems as if he could be half-decent. Sousa 3- Pathetic. Awful team selection, awful tactics and awful motivational skills. I'm surprised he didn't bring Neilson on for Lamey. What does his assistant do? I will back him as long as he's in the job but unfortunately, he's taken us backwards, ruined our defence and it's only going to get worse as the foreigners will struggle in the winter.

sg6 Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 7 - didnt do much wrong, i felt he was impeded on the second goal, kicking a bit suspect at times Lamey 5.5 - wasn't impressed at all, positioning awful and like moreno he was drawn to the ball and often dived in and missed out moreno -6 - got better as the game went on, but as above and not great in the air hobbs - 7 - still a shodow of what he was last season, seemed to lose a lot more balls in the air berner 6.5 - steady, but looked a bit slow and again, not as good as last season dyer 9 - awesome, best player on the pitch, great goal, and at times our only atacking threat oakley 7- i thought he did ok, did what he had to wellens - 8 - great to see him as the more attacking central midfielder, and was the main provider to dyer, as well as some good tough tackling as usual n'guessan - 8 when on the ball , 5 when off it, has so much potential but his positioning lets him down and doesn't give people the opportunity to play him in Gallagher - 6 - wasn't with it today, got knocked off the ball too easy and didn't work well with big steve Howard - 7 - should have scored, but that aside i thought he played with his heart on his sleeve as usual and battled well. subs- moussa - 6.5 - had a poor touch but looks a bright prospect, good pace, skillful and put a few good balls in the box near the end fryatt - 6 - should have started with him and for what time he had he didn't set the world alight but didnt have much support king 6 - as above, should have started and had too little time to make a huge impact sousa - made the right changes, but started with the wrong side for me ref - wasn't great, for me there was a foul on moreno for the first, logan was blocked for the second, and basically didn't want us to score, words fail me for his performance in the last ten minutes

milan_foxes Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 NO-ONE in that defence today deserved a 9 - FFS, did you even see the game??? Yes I was at the game, and compared to the other defenders he looked alot better. Ok, maybe he wasn't amazing but the other defenders made it look like he was.
davieG Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Yes I was at the game, and compared to the other defenders he looked alot better. Ok, maybe he wasn't amazing but the other defenders made it look like he was. From where I was sitting the first half I didn't see him win a single contested header.
STUHILL Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 5 Did ok but don't think he fills any of us with real confidence Lamey - 5 Obviously bought in for his attacking ability but his defence today was suspect. Still a better option than Neilson for me. Hobbs -6.5 People say he isn't back to his best but alongside Moreno, it is always going to be hard. Still our best defender by a mile. Moreno -3 This guy can not header the ball. That is unacceptable for a CB. Play him DM or not at all! Berner -5.5 Solid enough. Our most consistent performer. Dyer - 9 (MOM) Absoulutely brilliant today, He single handedly earnt us a chance of winning the game today. Shame the other players didn't respond. Oakley - 4 No influence on the game at all from what I saw. King has to start ahead of him, captain or not! Wellens - 4.5 Huffed and puffed with no real effect. Poor start to the season for him so far. I still rate him highly though. DNG - 3.5 This guy is fast. no doubt but he is not a good footballer at all. He can out run any amount of players he wants but if he can't cross or do anything with it, then what's the point?? Howard - 5 He tried and tried with very little success. Reading's defence were too solid but Howard definitely didn't make it difficult for them. New striker please. Gallagher - 5 Disappointed with him today. I really rate the guy but he just never got in to the game today. IF he wants to start, he needs to claim his favourite position and earn it! Fryatt - 6 Made a difference when he came on but I do think he has handed in a transfer request so obviously isn't happy about something. Worrying! King - 7 Scored a good goal! He should definitely be starting. Our best midfielder! I have feeling he may have handed in transfer request too, hope not!! Moussa - 5 Didn't see much of him but tried to attack. Maybe a better option that DNG ?? Sousa - 4.5 Selecting Moreno at CB again is worrying. Also, no King and Fryatt?? Strange decisions. He needs to start winning us some games and fast if he is to stay here much longer. We were used to winning last year which will make his time here even tougher if we don't improve quickly. There were signs of greatness at Boro and Crystal Palace 2nd half but today and Burnley have almost wiped those out. He has to change things in these 2 weeks with signings and tactics. I am an optimist and will give him 10 games which is generous but he isn't making it easy for me. Rumours of unfit players, transfer requests and a shortage of players coming in is worrying plus his interviews are a shambles. Lets see how the next two weeks pan out and then really get behind them for the next few games. Hopefully, he can spark us in to life!! Come on boys!!!!
Thracian Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan 6.5 (Kept us in the game with excellent anticipation that allowed him to block what looked like a certain goal and was otherwise sound enough apart from one grounded kick-out that might have spelt trouble and a feeling that he might have done more to deal with the cross that resulted in their winning goal.) Lamey 5 (He's quick to recover and seems physically stronger than he looks but was skinned far too easily on the outside for me - even along the goalline on a couple of occasions). Berner 5 (Too much danger coming from his side for my liking all season. He's functionary rather than a defender who is in any way inspiring. Still not fully fit in my view - and not the only one judging by the lethargic way people were moving out of defence and the hint of cramp in some). Hobbs 5.5 (Not his usual dominant self in the air by any means). Moreno 4 (Cost us the first goal for sure and seemed to be missing for the second as well. Allowed at least one more free header in the box and was not even particularly impressive or thoughtful with his distribution). N'Guessan 6.5 (Often had the beating of his opponent but his crossing, once again, was hopeful rather than measured. Needed to get his head up to see the pictures and deliver the ball that was necessary or possible rather than the one that was simply aimed into an area. That said City should have had more people driving into the box but, as so often, they had too many pedestrians who lacked the athleticism to do that). Oakley 4 (Anonymous and disappointing. It was not as if he was up against it or lacking support around him. He just failed to make any sort of impression or to make the simple passes quickly and accurately). Wellens 6 (Worked well enough but still takes a touch too many and opts out of responsibility when he gets sight of goal. In one early run he got right past the last defender but, instead of shooting, hung around waiting for a passing opportunity that didn't arrive and simply wasted what might easily hae ben a goal chance). Dyer 8 (Super goal, taunted his opponent all afternoon but should have done more with his final ball and with his corners). Gallagher 4 (Was he playing today?) Howard 5 (Could have had a hat-trick if he'd just taken his simple chances but just seemed to lack the sharpness to give himself thinking time and the touch to finish clinically). Subs - Moussa 6.5 (Quite tidy and positive) King 6.5 (Another coolly taken goal that should have saved us the match but was denied him for some seemingly innocuous reason) Fryatt 4 (Ineffective).
flanimal Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 I think people are being too harsh on the team and also the manager 'cause is another loss. But, I thought they played well enough to win that game, and could've won with more things going their way. So... Logan 6 Average. One good save, don't really think he was at fault for the goals Lamey 6 He wasn't shit. Dispossessed Kebe many times, who is one of the best wingers in the league. Moreno 5 The guy has ability, but I'm not comfortable with him as a centre back. We need a big, clattering defender. Hobbs 7 He was fine Berner 7.5 Pretty classy performance Dyer 9 Really good Wellens 7 Needed better passes Oakley 5 Average N'Guessan 6 Needed better crosses Gallagher 5 Didn't get enough from him Howard 7 The big guy as pretty good Subs: Fryatt 7 Good. Should be starting. For us, not Hull King 7 Made the team play better Moussa 6 I like this player a lot, but he didn't get enough time Don't normally do this, but the ref was CRAP.

wurmer Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Yes I was at the game, and compared to the other defenders he looked alot better. Ok, maybe he wasn't amazing but the other defenders made it look like he was. Apologies for the tone of my response, was irritated after the game. My point about the scores still stands though

bigneville Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan - 7 - Did ok. Couldnt do anything with the goals, and made one very good save. Solid display, although he doesnt inspire with confidence between the sticks Lamey - 5.5 - Was torn apart by Kebe for most of the game. Hobbs - 5.5 - Looked a shadow of his former self, was between in the air by Shane Long all day. He is really missing an experienced organiser next to him. Moreno - 4 - Awful defensively. His positional play is very good, but when he has the ball he wants far too long. Dillied and dallied all game long, and was at fault for both goals. Not a CB. Berner - 6 - Something isn't right with Bruno. Looks about half the player of last season. Can't quite put my finger on whats wrong. Dyer - 8.5 - Superb. Taught his opponent a lesson today, and was always a threat. Just a shame he tired with about 20 minutes to go. Oakley - 5 - He knows what the correct pass is, but just doesnt have the technique to play it anymore. It's a bad sign when a centre midfielder treats the ball like its a hot potato. Wellens - 7 - Always looking to try something, always wanted the ball. He was the only option for the pass on far too many occasions. Another good effort from Wellens. N'Guessan - 5.5 - Soooooo frustrating. Sooooo lazy. If he worked harder and decided what he is going to do with the ball in his own head, he could be a decent asset to us. Offered no protection to Berner at all. Howard - 6 - Won a few headers. A couple of nice lay-offs, but never a serious problem to the Reading defence. Gallacher - 5.5 - Struggled to get going, and never really linked with Howard that well. Subs Fryatt - 6 - Lacking sharpness for sure. Struggled to make an impact. King - 6 - Another substitute who never made an impact, although could have been so different if his goal wasn't disallowed. Moussa - 5 - Caught in possession too many times in a short period.
FoxyPV Posted 28 August 2010 Posted 28 August 2010 Logan -6 Thought he could have came out for the second goal and attacked the ball but just nitpicking Lamey -6 I thought he shackled Kebe well without douing much else Berner-6.5 Usual Bruno Hobbs- 7 went missing at times but two great tackles in the second half Moreno - 4 did ok but definitely not a CB positionally unsound N'Guessan-6 flashes of what he can do and waht he usually does Oakley-5 pedestrian Wellens-7 good Dyer - 9 dangerous and the seeming focal point of our attack plan - great goal Gallagher - 6 good without being good enough Howard- 6 usual Steve - some great stuff and then some shite and pointless bookings Subs - Moussa-6.5not on long but some good signs. King- 8 Why isn't he starting?! Robbed of a goal Fryatt - 8 held the ball well, looked dangerous- a softer pass and Howard would have been through on goal
