Wycombe Fox Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 And I've also heard Hobbs gave Sousa the black eye... Is that what is meant by the headline 'Sousa Praises Fighting Spirit' on the OS?
lcfcadam Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Just fecking go through and give us pretty much the first bit of good news for a while (win at the Dirty Leeds excepted)...
Mackem_in_peace Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 One good sign is that the Sunderland forum appears to be going through the first two of the five stages of grief. Denial Anger Here's generally angry at most things mate. Students being top of his list. Waghorn came off the bench on tuesday night in the carling cup and looked full of energy and very good on the ball. A million times better than Wellbeck who started the game. Yet Wellbeck came off the bench yesterday and was a million times better than Waghorn on tuesday so i'm not quite sure what to think! Being a local lad, Sunderland fans will follow his progress no doubt. Very disappointed you didn't get promotion last season. You had the support of us lot!
AmericanScott Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Hobbs didn't give PS a shiner. Get a grip people. Obviously a ball smacked him the face during training, lads have a laugh about it. On a more serious note, Waggy is coming home
sdb Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tlwdc/5_live_Football_League_30_08_2010/ 28 mins in. That's where Motty says it... sounds good!!!!!! ------------------- Weale Morrison---Hobbs--St Ledger---Berner ---------------------Abe------------------------ ------------Wellens---King------------------- Dyer----------------------------------Waggy -------------------Fryatt-----------------------
Fosse Boy Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 I can not for one second imagine Hobbs gave Sousa a black eye over zonal marking. This. It just sounds so daft. But then again, so did Pearson to Hull initially...
sdb Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Be surprised if Hull could afford the phone bill let alone the transfer fee. they afforded 20k a week for Koren and if Zayette goes...i admire your confidence though
theoxonfox Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 if players want to leave city then thats upto them, the club is bigger than any player,if its true about waghorn then i dont care if fryatt or campbell go and sousa will get it right, just needs patience to change our style of play,
Benji Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 To be fair, I'd give Sousa a black eye if he talked to me about zonal marking. Don't try fixing what wasn't broken.
STUHILL Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 sounds good!!!!!! ------------------- Weale Morrison---Hobbs--St Ledger---Berner ---------------------Abe------------------------ ------------Wellens---King------------------- Dyer----------------------------------Waggy -------------------Fryatt----------------------- Wish that was the 11 but Managers never seem to play what fans would prefer!!

We've a couple like that as well, just read the Fosse Boys thread for details. Nah, Waggy was absolutely sterling for us last season and it's kind of a surprise that Bruce is letting him go. I remember saying last season that he would be an established Premiership striker by the time he was 21. Let's just hope I'm proved right. He's full of running, work rate, strength and pace. Doesn't necessarily have the footballing brain of Fryatt for example but he is young and that's likely to come with experience. Let's just hope that you'll be able to follow his progress on MOTD before long. Also thanks for your support last season, nice to see other clubs backing us.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 im only repeating what i heard. i hope its not true. Hobbs is a brilliant defender. i also hope he stays. think we need to give him our full support on 11th, if hes still with us
haraven Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1307490/Sunderland-set-load-2m-Martyn-Waghorn-Leicester-fund-Asamoah-Gyan-swoop.html Daily Mail seems to believe it too... Waggy back on the team would be surprisingly nice, but I don't pop the bottle in celeb just yet.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 any idea why my thread got deleted? I know i put it in the wrong section, but can't it just be moved?
Babylon Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 any idea why my thread got deleted? I know i put it in the wrong section, but can't it just be moved? It got merged with this one.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Its on....................BBC Radio Leicester understands Martyn Waghorn will be a Leicester City player tomorrow. Media reports have suggested £2m. 104.9fm at 7.30am Stringers twitter page
Toby or not Toby Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Please be true about Waghorn. If hobbs leaves I will be very dissapointed.
KFS Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Oo this is most interesting. Can't believe Hobbs to smack Sousa, he's too collective and plus- Hobbs would kill Sousa in a hit. Also, he wouldn't be played/ subbed at half time and over zonal marking .
Cat Burger Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Has Stringer put anything on his twitter about this?
AmericanScott Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Has Stringer put anything on his twitter about this? I don't think he has, to be honest

Also, he wouldn't be played/ subbed at half time and over zonal marking . Plus we haven't been playing zonal marking. I missed the Reading game so can't say whether we didn't in that but I can definitely say we have not been playing zonal marking in any of the previous 5 games.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 30 August 2010 Posted 30 August 2010 Punched over zonal marking My thoughts exactly
