Waghorn...

Alright all? Just signed up as a thread has been posted on a Sunderland forum that all but confirms that Waggy is returning to the Walkers Stadium. We're in the process of trying to sign both Asamoah Gyan and Charles N'Zogbia but if Bruce is to be believed then we're needing a little bit more cash to see BOTH deals through. 2mil might be the difference between signing one of these or signing both.

Slightly disappointed that he's moving on but players come and go I suppose and all at Sunderland AFC wish him and Leicester all the best for the coming season.

Sunderland thread here..

Cheers for the info

Hopefully this does go ahead, but I just hope Waggy's not going to get too much of a culture shock if he does come back. If the rumours that have circulated over the previous days and weeks of an unsettled squad are true then he may find a dressing room that's very different from the one he experienced here last season.

Not saying it would affect him greatly but there did genuinely seem to be a certain prevalent spirit among Pearson's squad last season, and I just hope he realises that under a new manager with a larger proportion of new foreign signings in the club it might not be the same place he left back in May.

Conversely I suppose his capture could have a postive effect on those in the squad who seem to be yearning for the days of NP being in charge. Maybe he could act as the catalyst for a return to the unity and team spirit we saw last season.

Or maybe I'm talking pish with this wild speculation.

The fact the sale of dj has allowed us to do this is absolutely fantastic. We were letting him go for nothing not long ago and now he's mostly funding this deal. The club have played a blinder for once!!

Brilliant. I think this could be a season changing moment if it happens, positivity will flood back to the fans and the squad!!

Surely he's still in contact with some of the lads though, if things are as bad as people are making out then they'd have told him to stay away surely. :dunno:

Just been reported by Motty on fivelive that wags has signed for us!?!

Would be absolutely fantastic if this is true. But not gonna get too overexcited till its 100% confirmed.

Works like a trooper for 90 minutes. Genuinely loved it here last season. Only 20 and will improve but scored 12 goals last season in spite of a couple of suspensions and spending time on the bench. If he's coming for £2 million, this is the bargain of the season.

A friend of mine told me who has connections with the club. Apparently over zonal marking. may not be true.
