davieG Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 With that scenario I think Vitor would play right back And drop his signing Lamey
Nickfosse Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 And drop his signing Lamey Lamey was a free agent he took on trial in a postion we were struggling in, not quite the same as a signing that he had paid big bucks for.
davieG Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Lamey was a free agent he took on trial in a postion we were struggling in, not quite the same as a signing that he had paid big bucks for. Don't think that's relevant, it's still his signing, he'll have a certain allegiance to him as his reputation as a manager will stand or fall by him. He owes Neilson and Hobbs nothing in that respect.

He owes Neilson and Hobbs nothing in that respect. well neilson he could drop his time at leicester hasn't been great. as for hobbs, well he was joint player of the season and dropping him would bring the fans even more on his back, so i don't think he'l do that. as for andy king, he looks more in the frame after oak's shocker against reading he may get dropped for him. zayatte, if they get it done quick enough then moreno + yuki will be our midfeild unless he goes 3 in the middle then it's moreno, king, yuki. eitherway there's some great tactic's and ways to play football with this team, i just hope he get's it right.

Well it is when you consider he also "signed" Moussa and Crncic and is quite happy to put them on the bench, so why not Lamey, what makes him so different?

Nickfosse Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Their ages Only time will tell which of us is right. What about if Lamey gets dropped and Vitor plays right-back you can write my sermon for me, and if Hobbs gets dropped and Lamey retained I'll come round and bibliograph all your Leicester programmes from the last 50 years
davieG Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Only time will tell which of us is right. What about if Lamey gets dropped and Vitor plays right-back you can write my sermon for me, and if Hobbs gets dropped and Lamey retained I'll come round and bibliograph all your Leicester programmes from the last 50 years I'm not saying it will happen it's just conjecture based on the fact that Vitor is well respected as having great potential and is hardly likely to come here to sit on the bench, similarly Zayette by all accounts feels he should be playing in the PL so again is hardly likely to settle for a bench when he's been an ever present starter at Hull. Managers invariably make team selections that fans feel don't reflect performances and a lot of that seems to be based around who the manager signed. I'm just putting 1+1 together and my 2 sees Hobbs eventually being sidelined after all despite his improvement since signing for us and his many worshippers on here he doesn't have the best distribution skills. Having not seen either Zayette or Vitor play I'm not basing this on ability.

I, for one hope that Hobbs doesn't get dropped as I think he is a very fine defender. We have been told that Vitor has played right back, I guess in the way that Stearman did for us even though his preferred position is central defence, so my hope would be that all 3 could be accommodated.
artursteppe Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Let's get some perspective in here, guys. If Zayatte joins on a loan deal to go permanent in Jan, he will be a Leicester player. So is Jack Hobbs, so is Alexander Tunchev, ( so is Morrison ). Vitor is a young lad on loan who will be assessed as time goes on. If he deserves a starting place, he will play, if not he wont. They can't all play, but we do need those sort of quality players in the squad. We must all think in terms of squad, and back-up to the 'best' eleven at the time. Moreno and Abe are both defensive midfield players, there will be times ( maybe more often than not ), that they will both play in their favourite roles. That will then leave Oakley, King, Wellens, Dyer and Gallagher to play their preferred positions as forward going midfielders. I know it may be difficult to understand for some people, but they can't all play. - Many pundits regard the strength of a team as being about the quality left on the bench, to back up the chosen eleven. Then the forwards, Fryatt, Waghorn, Howard, Crncic and N'guessan ( as it stands ). I am going to surprise you all now, they can't all play etc., etc. Full backs and goalkeepers, Lamey, Nielson, Burner and Kennedy; Weale and Logan - work it out, they can't all play BUT it looks a pretty good squad to me! 23 players, the numbers add up at least, then we have some bright up and coming youngsters and maybe one or two more loan players as well, maybe another striker, who knows. I am still optimistic. This squad is better than last year's in my opinion at least.
hackneyfox Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 All very sensible apart from the bit about fullbacks and goalies. All 6 of those could be improved upon, I'd keep 3 of them, Lamey, Berner & kennedy

Maybe this WW goalie is OK and we might want to keep him. Agree though, goalkeeper seems to be a weakness at the moment.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 I really can't see why Zayatte could even be considered as a signing. He has never impressed me personally, and is not over popular at Hull.
Webbo Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 According to the moan in. The radio Humberside reporter reckons that Zayette was coming to us at one point, doesn't know if it's still on. There won't be any Leicester players going in the opposite direction. Didn't sound as if the R Humberside bloke rated this Zayette.
blueincornwall Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 My mate who's a Hull fan reckons that this Zayette fella is not that good. He said that he is not bad but prone to silly mistakes. When he watched them and he got the ball he would cringe just waiting for a mistake. Hope he's wrong.
Fox You Forest Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Didn't sound as if the R Humberside bloke rated this Zayette. Sounded to me like he thought he was a decent player but had just lost all motivation at Hull.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 6 September 2010 Posted 6 September 2010 Sounded to me like he thought he was a decent player but had just lost all motivation at Hull. Agreed and I think he'll be fine tbh

Hope he's wrong. its not just your mate. almost every hull fan thinks he's shit and they cant wait for him to leave. lets hope he manges to find some form for us!
Jon25747 Posted 7 September 2010 Author Posted 7 September 2010 http://www.hull.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=212335 Zayatte set for Leicester City loan move Kamil Zayatte is set to move to Leicester City on loan tomorrow after agreeing terms with the npower Championship club. Although a regular of City`s time back in the Championship so far, the Guinean centre-back has been short of form and, as the Hull Daily Mail reports, has actively sought a move away from the club during a turbulent spell of big name departures from the KC side. Although away on international duty at present, Zayatte is expected to finalise his move tomorrow when the loan window opens. As was speculated, Matt Fryatt will not form a part of the deal, although Zayatte`s departure will mean Daniel Ayala will join the club on loan from Liverpoool. Zayatte will be the second centre-back to leave in little over a week with Anthony Gardner sent to Crystal Palace on loan. Although Gardner looks set to return in January, Zayatte is expected to make his move permanent if he impresses, with City netting around £1 million. Looks like its done and dusted
s11nny Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 great! what a shit signing this will be. not gonna solve anything in defence
MikeyT Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Not going to slate the guy even before he's kicked a ball for us. He's not even here yet. At least give him a chance to be shit for us before criticising him.
Far Post Gerry Posted 8 September 2010 Posted 8 September 2010 Give the lad a chance! It gives us more options. Centre defence is all about forming partnerships; if he can strike up a good understanding with Hobbs, it could be a cracking bit of business. And at least we're not losing Fryatt...
