davieG Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 if NP wants to replace him with Ayala why not sign him instead and save a few bob also how does loaning Zayatte to us pave the way for Bullard to return ? Perhaps Bullard get's paid extra if he plays[, not impossible considering he was on his way back from injury when he signed for them or at least was injury prone.
Cheese Me Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Looks like this is going through then. I always thought he was supposed to be a good player but never saw him much. I was a bit worried by some of the comments on here that Hull fans wanted rid of him so I went to a Hull forum and the general consensus seems to be that he's a quality player but just doesn't want to be there any more. The 'calamity' part seems to refer to a few OGs he's scored. Some quotes.: 'I really do not understand why we are loaning Zayatte to Leicester?' 'Reports I'm hearing suggest his confidence is shot and Ayala may be at least the same level, but cheaper' 'I just like him I think...I don't want him to go to a league rival either.' 'For some reason I also like him, despite him being a little kamikaze at times, there's something about him that appeals to me, maybe it's because I've been known to score the odd own goal too!' 'The skills are there, but the head has gone.' 'I actually thought he would go the an EPL team. ' 'Suspect Nige has him down as one of the ones with a relegation hangover.' 'The best game I remember him having was as a DM that took the odd chance of going forward. It was a sight to behold when he frightens both sides by charging forward and didn't waste it either.' 'He may have made cock up a plenty but there was always full commitment from him. It was often edge of the seat stuff and rarely dull. I feel that he was unlucky with many of his own goals, they were often last ditch attempts to stop goals where others may not have put the same effort in. I also had a soft spot for him.' That to me suggests if we can get his head right we may have a player on our hands, and a committed beast of a player too. Quite happy about this now
surrifox Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Perhaps Bullard get's paid extra if he plays[, not impossible considering he was on his way back from injury when he signed for them or at least was injury prone. that sounds about right. I heard (or read) somewhere that Bullard was on £45k per week (presumably per game then)

montyw93 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 The reason Pearson is getting rid of him is so that they have enough money for Jimmy Bullard to stay at the club!! :scarf:
montyw93 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Fryatts going the other way FACT Sousa's transfers so far this season haven't been great, I mean Mandaric bought Waghorn for Sousa and the Thai bought Abe for him. i don't rate Fryatt, but why would you swap a striker for a deffender?? That means the only strikers we have left are Howard, Waghorn, Gallagher and Crnic. I don't think Sousa is that stupid!!!!
tomtom Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Fryatts going the other way FACT If they are shipping out Zayatte to free up wages to play Bullard then why would they take on Fryatt too ?? I hope it's not true as even though i don't think Fryatts really recovered his form since that nasty injury i'd hate to see him leave and he's a good player at this level
Jimothy Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Fryatts going the other way FACT If Zayatte is coming here to free up funds so Hull can play Bullard, why would they burden themselves with another wage? And why would we sign a defender for a striker when we are struggling to score and struggling to defend? We need to get better at both ends. I think you might be talking out your arse.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Fryatt won't move to Hull in the opposite direction FACT
Sylvie85 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 After watching him play the other week at the Hull, Watford game and speaking with a number of Hull fans my opinion is as follows: Whenever Zayate had the ball at his feet there was an anxious intake of breath from all the hull supporters, they say he regularly tries to dribble the ball out and gets caught in possession, however in the game i watched a number of fans said he had obviously been given orders not to fook about with it and he kept putting the ball in the stand. He didn't seem strong in the air and his positional sense at times put his team mates under pressure. Having said all this, is he a worse centre back than Moreno (who i think could be decent in his natural role) No he isn't, but is he as good as Morrison, in my opinion no. I think if we got him it wouldn't be the worst signing but i think Hobbs would have to be a very dominative figure as a lead centre back. Obviously all this is only my opinion on my observations and if we do get him i hope he proves me wrong.
MC Prussian Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Didn't know Bullard was on such astronomical wages at Hull. No wonder they need to offload some of their players to other clubs in order to maintain a healthy salary structure. Zayatte's alright, but I wonder whether signing yet another defender will lead to any more stability in the back. It's about time Sousa settles on a back four and has them playing together for ten or so matches - preferably without Moreno.
davieG Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If we sign this guy and with the return of Vitor I wonder who'll get pushed into third choice CB - Hobbs
MikeyT Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If Fryatt did go that would leave us pretty light up front. Surely can't be true.
Fox 4 Life Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Fryatts going the other way FACT Why the hell would we LOAN one of, if not our best striker to our rivals?!
zubi Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Why the hell would we LOAN one of, if not our best striker to our rivals?! I agree, that wouldn't be very clever! Can't see him going anywhere personally.
Shrenchel Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Why the hell would we LOAN one of, if not our best striker to our rivals?! Hi friend
Walshy5 Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Maybe by saying FACT was a bit of an over statement but I know someone who tells me things long before they ever happen I laugh it off and say its bollocks but he always turns out to be right. A cupple of examples are he said pearson would go to hull about a week before it was in any papers and he knew about why Wayne Browm was left out of the play-offs before anyone else did. He wont tell me how but always gets it right for some reason.
Father Ted Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If we sign this guy and with the return of Vitor I wonder who'll get pushed into third choice CB - Hobbs Well yeah because he's not going to drop one of his signings, to justify himself and he's not going to drop a Portuguese player. He'll put Hobbs on the bench - tactical move
MPH Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If Fryatt did go that would leave us pretty light up front. Surely can't be true. Unless the barcelona kid is still coming. In on loan..
Jimmy Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Hobbs is vice-captain so I doubt he'll get dropped in the same way he won't drop Oakley
davieG Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 Hobbs is vice-captain so I doubt he'll get dropped in the same way he won't drop Oakley Well he has left Oakley out or subbed him and with Abe and Moreno freed from his CB role available as a DCM I can't see Oakley getting off the bench very often plus he didn't appoint Oakley as Captain so has no allegiance / loyalty to him as Captain.
Corky Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If we sign this guy and with the return of Vitor I wonder who'll get pushed into third choice CB - Hobbs Sousa would be mad to put Hobbs outside his preferred two centre-backs, I can't see it happening really
Nickfosse Posted 4 September 2010 Posted 4 September 2010 If we sign this guy and with the return of Vitor I wonder who'll get pushed into third choice CB - Hobbs With that scenario I think Vitor would play right back
