peterborofox Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Oakley is ideal at what he is, a squad player. Ha d agood game today, he is good in the anchor man role, gave the bal laway a few times but puts in a good tackle.
Jake Shapiro Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Wellens saved him today rly. I feel like wellens plays better when oakley is on.
STUHILL Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Few heavy touches but was quite impressed. Definitely not the terrible player some people make him out to be! It's like fans have to have a player to hate and it seems to be him at the moment. Solid performance today hopefully get people to give him bit more slack.
Simmo86 Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Think if we could get Abe to sit in like Oakley does then he would be a much better option. Oakleys touch and passing is woeful sometimes most of the time under little to no pressure. But he did stick a foot in which is nice to see
Edmund Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 This time last year he was getting all sorts of abuse for clapping the Derby fans when he got subbed.
haraven Posted 12 February 2011 Posted 12 February 2011 Oakley was good today. He stuck in and guarded our back line during our attacks.
ta-fc Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 in Sven we trust as its horses for courses... Former Ram, something to prove, likes a tackle... Thought he put a decent shift in but expect Yuki to be back in on Friday.
Fox92 Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Thought he was good again yesterday. His tackling was good and he sat in when players went forward.
jamesmilner Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 how can anyone think oakley wasn't our worst player tonight baffles me . some people who wrote their own sick letters for p.e. at school might think otherwise . just watch the game again on sky+ . he was woeful .
Christoph Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Yeh everytiem they had a break/counter inthe first half it was usually because of Oakley's shit first touch or miisplaced pass. I wonder if Bamba could play the deep lying role with Bruma and Mee in Centre.
Corky Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Abe needed a break and Oakley stepped in fine. Didn't shirk a tackle and kept things ticking.
Brown Fox Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Being at the match I thought Oakley was easily one of our best players and contender for MOTM? Surprised at how some people just think he's shit whatever he does..
Wymsey Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I thought Gallagher was at his best yesterday and looked very dangerous.
shailen Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I thought Gallagher was at his best yesterday and looked very dangerous. His passing and creativity was brilliant yesterday, so i agree.
CosbehFox Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Yeh everytiem they had a break/counter inthe first half it was usually because of Oakley's shit first touch or miisplaced pass. I wonder if Bamba could play the deep lying role with Bruma and Mee in Centre. The odd break/counter off a rusty first touch. Expected I suppose. Did a decent little job being the defensive screen....how times did we see King burst pass their midfield compared to a Derby player bursting pass our midfielder? Just did a job, in the same way Wellens does the odd cocky touch, Gally tries something daft...Oakley will make a bad pass. Oh well. We are a Championship side. I thought Gallagher was at his best yesterday and looked very dangerous. He was excellent. Some of his passing was superb. His best being that left footed pass behind Brayford for Van Aanholt to latch onto.
gazfox9 Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 I thought Gallagher was at his best yesterday and looked very dangerous. And his header to set up the Yaks goal was a brave header, something gally isn't famed for! But he's in a great bit of form at the minute, long may it continue.
Sylvie85 Posted 13 February 2011 Posted 13 February 2011 Thought oakley put a shift in, but his distribution at times was worse tthan wayne browns and against ateam with quality couldve been dangerous. But overall he was okay. Nothing more, nothing less.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 14 February 2011 Posted 14 February 2011 Gally & Mee MOTM, But oakley fulfilled everything what was asked of him i thaught he played well
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Gally & Mee MOTM, But oakley fulfilled everything what was asked of him i thaught he played well Oakley as a member of our squad lucky to get a game every now and again is a prime example of how far forward thw club have come in the last couple of months, not my favourite player personally but still a good squad player none the less
blueredswed Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 Oakley as a member of our squad lucky to get a game every now and again is a prime example of how far forward thw club have come in the last couple of months, not my favourite player personally but still a good squad player none the less didn´t you see what Sven says about him If not he was one of the best in the team ( perhaps many say not ) but looking from Svens perpective he was! So come on BLUE including every one on pitch and on the bench AND WE so called BLUE come on you TOOOOOO
Corky Posted 15 February 2011 Posted 15 February 2011 He was excellent. Some of his passing was superb. His best being that left footed pass behind Brayford for Van Aanholt to latch onto. Gallagher seems very settled under Sven's management.
