Crap Ref Thread.

Cheers Football League, you big bunch of tossers, another incompetent toss-sack who had the sole intention of the game being about him. It was shocking how many times he wasn't up with the play last night.

Ref against Cardiff was worse. I frequently saw him hesitating on decisions, looking at his assistants pleadingly and then getting things wrong.

Ref's are poor, but please can we just accept when we are shit and deserve to lose. :dunno:

It's been accepted. But can you say the ref was good last night?

No, not at all, like I said Ref's are poor, but even if he did favour us last night it wouldn't have made any difference.

Well yes it would actually. We wouldn't have lost 6-1 with 11 players on the pitch IMO. It would have made a difference to the score but yes, it made no difference to the result.

A point I've made in my (rather long) post in the post-match thread. The ref was completely useless last night, was a definite "homer" and made sure he got his camera time in the process. He was exceptionally bad but he didn't cost us the game all by himself.

I hate to draw comparisons but cast your minds back to our last relegation,

( I know we were shit) poor referees cost us at least 10 pts. Over a season

these things should even themselves out but that season they didn't, major

blunders just kept going against us. Kisnorbo being sent off + a penalty for

a good tackle outside the box, and an Oakley handball spring to mind but

there were many others. This season seems to be going the same way.

We seem to be on the end of every wrong decision.

I think it helps if you have a hard or threatening manager. Refs think twice

about giving dodgy decisions against Man U because they know they've got

to walk past Fergie at the end. Being shouted at by Sousa must be like

a telling off from your Sunday school teacher.

The referees we've had this season have been a disgrace, and despite the performance, 2 major decisions changed the game last night.

Something has to be done about the standards of officiating in this country, because it is embarrassing how bad they are.

We had this ref at some point last season and he was just as bad, at least he's consistent

Just because we played badly doesn't mean it's ok to have a crap ref. We've had some shockers this season, and the general standard of refs at this level is really low. it's a hard job, but they are still shit.

Not to do with us, but sounds like Stuart Attwell has fucked up again. Not too sure what he did this time, but Jeff Stelling just said 'And Stuart Attwell will find himself in the limelight again'.

How does he get away with it week after week? Thing is his a usual major fuck up's.

Liverpool's first goal.

Michael Turner knocked the ball back for the Sunderland keeper to take a free kick and Liverpool nipped in and scored.

The bloke has only been officiating 4 years or something but has been fast tracked by the FA.

He lives in my town, Goes to the Physio I used to go too, I asked to meet him once but the physio knew my thoughts of referee's, and him inparticular (I was going around the 'phantom goal' saga so was slagging him off quite abit) so didn't tell me when his appointments were. :giggle:

Morrison could/should have been sent off for his handball - I've not seen a replay of it but it was as plain as day from where I was stood. But he was definately a right homer, putting his finger to his lips to shut one of our players up...who does he think he is? Some school teacher? He was a pedantic **** yes, but as already stated by others, we didn't lose souly for his ineptitude, we just never turned up.

We've had poor referees in all of the games I've seen. Last night the referee got the major decisions correct though.

Attwell has got to be the worst referee in the country. God forbid we should have him officiate one of our games.

I really cant see why the **** sent Vítor off... He wasnt impeding a goalscoring oppertunity... Yellow at most. Also, many of his decisions were highly innacurate, yet we cant put the blame completely on the referee... We really didnt help our own cause and, in a way, deserved to lose... :frusty:

And if you're referring to King's disallowed goal and Vitor's red card, then both were correct.

Well he was.

Dan's quite right, King was offside and the sending off might have been a bit harsh but we'd have expected the same if one of our players had been pulled down.

Blaming the ref is desperate and a bit pathetic.

Well he was.

What about the obstruction that Nugent was doing he made no attempt to play the ball and it wasn't in reach of him after Vitor had pushed it away, it was as a result of this that caused Vitor to put his arms around Nugent.

In fact what ever happened to the obstruction law I see it taking place all over the pitch and it's never called, is it no longer an offence?
