Jackirius Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 He also hired Sven as manager when he bought Man City. Yep, I think i might start a conspiricy thread up soon
hackneyfox Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 It's been linked on here before as to who one of the other investors is. He's the one in the other party to Thaksin. And I doubt Thaksin would pass the test
Chrysalis Posted 3 October 2010 Posted 3 October 2010 my guess is 10million but including wage budget. I agree they seem to be spending more than their wealth suggests they can afford, however I suspect they worth more than the rich list says anyway, like I think MM is worth more than 75million.

And I doubt Thaksin would pass the test I remember when Portsmouth went through apparently being taken over and the Premier League said that is Tha Sin was involved then they would not let it go through... Would this be another reason why he wants to keep quiet? Just looked as i was writing... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/portsmouth/5523602/Portsmouth-deny-Thaksin-Shinawatra-involvement-in-takeover.html

Yeh the Rich List is basically what they have in the bank and doesn't really take into account assets of their business or personal assets.

Just looked as i was writing... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/portsmouth/5523602/Portsmouth-deny-Thaksin-Shinawatra-involvement-in-takeover.html interesting article but what would stop him having a family member or close aid fronting the money in his place. to much mystery surrounding the other investor is worry to me, surely as the people who are the heart of the club we should be told of who could atleast be an additional investor. i for 1 would be more happier and after all we are here long after these people have upped and gone. it also begs the question why do they have to be kept a secret? if this person is serious enough about investing in our great club then why not say? or is it some1 the fans would object to massively?

Babylon Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Yeh the Rich List is basically what they have in the bank and doesn't really take into account assets of their business or personal assets. As far as i'm aware those lists take into account assets. Not many of these rich people are sitting around with it in the bank, it's all invested or in markets/property/businesses.
MrSpaM Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 I get the feeling the mystery investor has more money than Top, just a hunch though

Far Post Gerry Posted 4 October 2010 Posted 4 October 2010 Thaksin's considered pretty left wing (although Thai politics is so murky that it's difficult to make such clear splits). Also, he had half his assets seized by the Thai government earlier this year. He isn't skint by any stretch, but he's a lot poorer now than when he bought Man City.

Correct,i have a customer of a huge business and he made the rich list, when i said something to him,he laughed and said"if only" it was if he sold the company and its assets.Sven is worth 16 million, perhaps he can dip his hand in his own pocket!

stix Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 £10m According to the Mirror And the Daily Star says the same. According to the star the thai's just asked Sven how much he wanted!!
Uncle Monty Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 £10m According to the Mirror I know it's only speculation but fvck me that would be awesome!
dpjfox Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Tabloids reckon £10m but i doubt someone of his quality needs that much 3 or 4 new qualty players + couple of loans (eg Micheal Johnson)
Tommy G Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Tabloids reckon £10m but i doubt someone of his quality needs that much 3 or 4 new qualty players + couple of loans (eg Micheal Johnson) Who is fat and resembles the fitness of a Jamie Redknapp and Darren Anderton Lovechild
smokey Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 Hope he gets very little... we don't need loads of new players, we need a manager that will come in, sort out the ones we have, that we KNOW are capable of playing very well in this division, and then get them playing to that standard! Sure, maybe a striker and a defender maybe, but we don't need an overhaul. Completely agree! If Sven and his back room staff are as good as they say they are then why not work with what he has, get the shape right and get them fitter and more organised and we can give anyone in this division a game. As bad as we have been at defending sometimes this season no one is that good this year, even QPR, they are just big powerful and well organised and have a lad scoring lots of goals, thats waht gets you out of this league (Rememebr when Adams took us up). We need a Big Experienced quality central defender as a must and maybe another striker but thats it!
wurmer Posted 5 October 2010 Posted 5 October 2010 He also hired Sven as manager when he bought Man City. Thaksin also sacked him from Man City. Also Thaksin is still a man living 'on the run', I think I read that he had become a citizen of Montenegro. The UK seized all his assets here, and the Thai's seized half his fortune there. Can't see it being him directly but who knows if he's doing it via an intermediary?
Glen Posted 7 October 2010 Posted 7 October 2010 Do you people think that Sven wil be given what he needs to get us back up. I cant help but look at man city and the amounts they've spent and yet they still seem to have trouble playing as a gelled team unit. I hope Sven's quite ways can get our lads up for the task. we really should not be where we are now for sure. What does the team need.
