Austin Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 Is that the John Pantsil who played for Ghana at the World cup? Correct.
Bugg Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 Pantsil or Paintsil? Paintsil is his real name, Pantsil is what he's registered as.
Salieri Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 Paintsil is his real name, Pantsil is what he's registered as. Ahhhh, ok.
Tuna Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 Fabian Delph and Steve Sidwell would be good signings. Stuart Parnaby, Jason Roberts, Joey O'Brien, Gavin McCann, Mathew Taylor not playing much for Bolton now, Victor Anichebe if he was available.

Fjällräven Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 He holds a passport where he was named Pantsil by oversight back in Ghana, which means he has to wear the wrong name on his kit And against Serbia in the WC he wore yet another name, PANSTIL, on his back. More aid needed for fighting illiteracy in Africa I guess.
Jackirius Posted 10 October 2010 Posted 10 October 2010 on tv, don't know what channel yet, OS says sky and some other website says beeb, so i'd say its probably the beeb. Bit of a bummer, i had something to get back for after going to watch it, which i would have been able to if it was a 15:00 KO, but its not looking likely... Oh well... Going to enjoy getting the train back to Norwich way with all the Ipswich fans
sdb Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Skrtel - Liverpool are bout due a yard sale he start's every game for them. and is quality. there are some players that even Sven and 10mill won't get.
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Bit of an understatement to say that Pa(i)ntsil likes to get stuck in. Would love to see him crunching into some of the divisions more lightweight players.
kimsalabim Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 My thoughts exactly. 2 mill is a big wod of money regardless of whether its a "cheeky bid" or not. I think we could look elsewhere! For a second rate 30 year old full back, 2 million ain't bad.
darko2k7 Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Centre back :- J. Bruma- Chelsea (loan) Have seen him come on a couple of time as a sub for Chelsea and he seems a real prospect also have a few Chelsea season ticket mates and they tell me he is awesome , going to replace Terry when he is past it . Right winger :- Adam Hammill - Barnsley ( 1.5/2 million . This lad as had a good couple of seasons now , Scores a decent amount of goals as flair also decent with both feet so can be played on either wing if needed.
Mikey Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Of all the players linked with us on here you chose to say Titus Bumble is too good for us! I forgot this tremendous defender has played for all the top teams Ipswich Newcastle Wigan and Sunderland all way out of our league! So your right young man I must be deluded Bramble is a good defender, obviously he makes mistakes, as does every other player but he is making them less and less frequent every year. He is easily made a scapegoat just for his style of play and the way it seems he just bumbles around the pitch making mistakes, but if you actually watch him he's a good defender. And yes he is out of our league seeing as he starts for Sunderland, who believe or not, are a top half Premier league team, so yeah, I'd say he's too good for us, and the Championship at the moment.
sdb Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Bramble is a very goos defender. So is Pantsil. Definitely not 2nd rate at this level! i'd rather a good 2mill RB than another Neilson/Curtis/Maybury for 500k.

m00nie Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 this evryone seems to think buying strikers are a must bye because if we get goals we go up we need to strenthen rb first and foremost i say neilson has actually done ok at RB this season so its not like thats a desperate area.. the whole defence has been jittereish with the chopping and changing and the new manager. with sven in place i can see some consistency coming in the defence which is why a striker should be our main priority...
conradno1 Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 yes neilson has done very well this season all credit to him but all sven are talking about is the prem and he and a few others wont help in getting there
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Bramble is a good defender, obviously he makes mistakes, as does every other player but he is making them less and less frequent every year. A well made arguement, we will just have to agree to disagree, because I dont believe he is too good for us, your arguement falls down with the fact Blackpool are a top half Prem league side (incidently Sunderland are 11th bottom half) and with your way of thinking their players would also have to be classed as too good for us because they are a top half Prem side. Personally I think the Prem league has about 10 good sides the rest just average, the promoted teams are doing ok and the teams relegated from the prem last season are hardly setting the Championship alight! So if Sunderland were relegated which I admit is unlikely would he therefore not be too good for us because he would be a championship player? Thats the beauty of football everyone has an opinion, you rate him I dont, and we still need a CB!
sdb Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 i know Neilson has done OK this season but he's hardly been amazing either, he was poor last season and he is not Prem/top Championship standard even on his day, so a RB is high on the priority list as far as i'm concerned, and Pantsil would be a very, very tidy addition to the squad.
