dogadug Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Controlled the game, could have had 5 or 6. Stand out performers were Waghorn and Oakley

Houdini Logic Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Can anyone guess why Oakley's goal was disallowed? At first i thought they had just forgotten to update the score
m00nie Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 thought we looked comfortable.. gally did well.. same with waghorn,, n unfortunately so did oakley.. .. missed first 10 muinutes but only saw lamey on at rb. no nielson.. no dyer as n guessan was on.. howard had a goal dissalowed..
jonthefox Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 heres the goals if you missed them. http://www.livesoccertv.com/match/166549/thailand-vs-leicester-city/
cc_star Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Obviously the Thai team weren't much of a threat upfront, and Sven used the 2nd half to look at more players - but we controlled the game Had a couple of goals disallowed and hit the woodwork twice I think, could easily have been 6-0 More pleasing than that was the effort being put in by the lads and although the humidity got to them at the end they never stopped running and creating chances. Faz is reportedly sergeant major like and it looks like its having an early effect. The team also retained their shape, there was none of the headless chicken football when the Thai team had a 5min spell, everyone knew what their job was and stuck to it. I just wish we had an easier game than against Hull so as we could build confidence further & some momentum, if we lose we could be back on the bottom and all the negativity that breeds wiping out the excellent work done in Thailand All in all, I'm growing more confident that the season could finally be heading in the right direction and that the battling 2nd half against Scunny wasn't just a player reaction to the changes
Lillehamring Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 caught most of it on the stream, man of the match, gallagher - played all over the park linked with anybody and everybody that came near him, lovely finish for the goal & could have had more, very unlucky to smash a great shot onto the bar, looks fitter than any other player we have too. honorable mentions - waghorn - worked his socks off, linked well, covered a lot of ground, should have scored more but his finishing was either a bit wide or a bit straight, but we're talking difficult chances, so it was good just to see him taking them, it didn't help that he looked knackered by the end. oakley - hate to say it but a decent captains performance, today - i can't remember the last time i saw him get in to the box so often, at one point he was leading the line then tracking back to clear up at right back - this should be enough to guarantee him a place for the next 8 matches regardless of how he plays in them, he tricked sousa like that too... kennedy - looked really good coming on, ok he had little to defend but a couple of great crosses from the left, yes, crosses from the left Satisfying weale & our defensive performance - good to see weale back, stood up to some one on ones; nice to get the clean sheet, we were caught out first half with a few balls over the top, but we were strong from the midfield which gave the back 4 an easy day - wellens, oakley, moreno all looking solid moussa/n'guessan - pretty apparent svennis likes 442, n'guessan looked decent up to his injury and moussa looks like he has real potential, his technique is as good as anyone bar Yuki. Not good enough Howard - sorry, but against a team of dwarves he should and could have had a hat trick; he linked ok but nothing that any other player in the squad couldn't have done, but his finishing is just pathetic. he created a great chance for himself, only to weakly shoot at the keeper and had a goal disallowed, but really he should have buried the header first time, he was at most 2 meters out, and headed straight at the keeper. it's easy to blame the heat for his pedestrian movement, but oakley covered way more ground and looked much sharper. unless sven elects to start gally and waghorn, this has to be a priority for a loan signing; i can't see us making the playoffs if we are reliant on howard.
Prospero Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 If you watched it on TV, the Thai team took a buffering from Leicester City.
Far Post Gerry Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Difficult to get much continuity with so many substitutions, but Waghorn looked lively, Howard should've scored a hat trick, and Gallagher played well - took his goal superbly. Morrisson and Hobbs looked very comfortable. Formation seemed confused in 2nd half; Moussa swapping to the right, Kennedy playing left wing ahead of Parkes. I saw the Liverpool-Thailand friendly last year, and they could only manage a draw; we dealt with them a lot better. Only 2-0, but it should've been five.
Houdini Logic Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 Whereabouts was the Singha logo? Anyone got a pic? It was to the left of the main badges - looked a bit ridiculous. I'll try and find a repeat of the match because there were a few screen shots worth posting - like the massive LCFC board which formed part of the sponsors boards and said something like 'Walking Together' and it just looked weird seeing the royal/corporate area of the ground with a massive Leicester badge and a group of Thai guys holding an England flag with Leicester written on it. It's still all really weird to see.
Jay Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 One thing that sticks out for me, we haven't really heard much from the new owners maybe because they don't speak much English but with Sven arriving last week and this tour and the way they have handled it and the way the players have been treated to me shows these guys are for real! they seem to have money, power and influence in Thailand and mean business in what they want to achieve. lets just hope they don't forget the club is about the fans and the people of and around Leicester first
Rincewind Posted 9 October 2010 Posted 9 October 2010 missed it. didnt know what time it was being played or that it was available to watch. Got my annual letter from the club offerng me discount for games. Sheff Utd for £14. Also a voucher for 20% off a shirt. Surprised a little. Not been a member for years and due to work not been down for the last couple of seasons. I expect the computer that has my name in the data base said yes. :} Got the Fossils and Foxe book. Ordered it early online.
