Thailand v LCFC Won 2-0

Obviously the Thai team weren't much of a threat upfront, and Sven used the 2nd half to look at more players - but we controlled the game

Had a couple of goals disallowed and hit the woodwork twice I think, could easily have been 6-0

There are many harder games than hull at home! I'll take that & 3 points next week, no problems.

More pleasing than that was the effort being put in by the lads and although the humidity got to them at the end they never stopped running and creating chances.

Faz is reportedly sergeant major like and it looks like its having an early effect.

The team also retained their shape, there was none of the headless chicken football when the Thai team had a 5min spell, everyone knew what their job was and stuck to it.

I just wish we had an easier game than against Hull so as we could build confidence further & some momentum, if we lose we could be back on the bottom and all the negativity that breeds wiping out the excellent work done in Thailand

All in all, I'm growing more confident that the season could finally be heading in the right direction and that the battling 2nd half against Scunny wasn't just a player reaction to the changes

Whereabouts was the Singha logo? Anyone got a pic?

As said above it was in the top left corner of the shirt. As a whole looked awfully cluttered and busy, especially as it was already linear. Without something on the right corner is just looks unbalanced and weird.

Very respectable performance, heres to the Hull game.

And Fryatt

Possibly, with him being suspended currently, Sven wanted to see how an available front pairing would work.

I'm probably chatting crap though.

Fryatt couldn't play because of his ban, Dyer and Vitor didn't play because of knocks in training.

Didnt think this would apply for a friendly match.

It was in Thailand - tricky thing these world time zones.

Na i just thought it was 11 pm tonight and not last night :L

Why were you in Thailand? Holiday?

Suspended from all football until the Club have completed 3 first team matches for a Sending Off in a match played on 28/09/2010.

It's pathetic mate not that I'm too bothered he missed out today but he wasn't allowed to play today because of his ban but this match didn't count against 1 of his 3 match bans.

**According to Stringer in his commentary.

Like I said not too bothered he didn't play today (Keeps him risk free of injury I suppose) but imo it's either one or the other - He plays in a friendy, OR he's banned but it counts as one of the 3 matches.

classy finish from Waghorn, especially considering he is left footed and good finish again from Gallagher...

Poor goalkeeper though it has to be said...

Surely if he could not play because of the ban then it would count as 1 of his3 games?

It was according to Stringer during his commentary so can't take it as gospel, as you know what he's like.

It was a FIFA sanctioned game, and because his red card was for violent conduct it meant he wasn't able to be picked.

It's not that he was banned for this game & therefore taking up one of his matches, it's just that he was ineligible for selection.

Answer to others

Dyer & Vitor suffered a knock in training and weren't worth risking.

On the plus side, this game does mean that Fryatt will only be banned for one more league game instead of two.

Good result in tough conditions and the best way to start Sven's reign, no matter what the opposition.

Lovely finishes from Waggy and Gallagher as well.

If he was banned today because of his red card, that means that two of his three matches banned have banned (Scunny and Thailand) meaning he should only have to serve a ban in the Hull game and come back for Swansea.

The reason people are doubting is because stringer said that it won't count. Although to be fair it would be logical for it to be 1 of his 3 games.
