phillthefox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 I agree what a signing this would be but as stated above looks to be on way to sunderland
MikeyT Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 People are turning there noses up at Wes Brown now?!?!?! Yes he is maybe not good enough to hold down a place in Manchester Uniteds first team but how many players are? Brown would have no shortage of takers in the premier league if her were available. We are Leicester and we are in the bottom half of the championships ffs. Get a grip of yourselves! Indeed.
Guest Bilo Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Sven not good enough for us. Wes Brown neither. I fucking love supporting Real Madrid.
Samilktray Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Would be the best defender in this division by an absolute mile.
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Would be the best defender in this division by an absolute mile. This, and you would have to be mental to think otherwise. Sometimes reading foxestalk I expect dribble to start leaking through the monitor the state of some of these comments.
HampshireFox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Never rated wes brown as a international, but would be a great player to have in the championship. International and champions league experience. I don't think you can grumble with that.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 The man made a total of 52 apps in all competitions in the 07-08 season, when they won the Prem and the UCL, he played 36 of those league games, and played in that Champions League final. Shit? Really?
nickelbyfox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Wes Brown would be amazing! Has a lot more pace and would really be ideal for Hobbs IMO Cant believe people though, england international and plays for Man U, next thing people will be saying is O'Shea is a load of bollocks haha
Stevosevic Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 People who think this is going to happen need to take a step back and look at their posts, there is no way this is going to happen, not in a million years.
Ashley Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 at the comments people are making about Wes Brown being shit.
scott_gunnell Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Yes Brown is a Man United Premier League player and I think we all agree that he would cope with the championship. However I think we all need to look a bit deeper than just trying to get ANY player that plays for United or another premier league club. I think Sven will be careful about every player he brings into the squad. Sven has always been meticulous in everything he does as manager. He will want players that have the right attitude with the new way of doing things etc. Wenger apparently wants to know if potential signings are in long term relationships which I can see the logic as to why that would make a difference. I can’t confirm that but I do think he has the secrets to creating star players, so he must be doing something right with the players that join his squad. It will be easier to attract players the team can be challenging for promotion. There are loads of managers and players that praise Sven, know his record, and will be very interested in coming on board with him. I’m looking forward to following Leicester FC. Roll on Hull City )))
Sly Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Wes Brown is an International defender. He's one of the best defenders in the Premier League and has just fallen out of favour with Alex Ferguson, ala Beckham, Stam, etc etc If he does turn up at the Walkers, then it'll turn a few eyes and will show the sort of ambition that this club has. He would be the best defender in this division and a great mentor for Jack Hobbs. This would be a major, major coup. Altough I'm imagining this is people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 13.
5waller5 Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Would ask for a source, but now its appeared here it will probably be on MirrorFootball.co.uk later. Also the team only left Thailand on Sunday, probably not back to work till Tuesday, so who has Brown been speaking to, a cleaner? A phone???
mancunianfox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 This would be a major, major coup. Altough I'm imagining this is people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 13. I think its more like people putting 2 and 2 together and solving the JFK assassination, Amy Winehouses' drink problem, global warming, third world debt, the ending of Lost, unemployment and Adrian Chiles.
okie fox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Wes Brown used to be good -- see http://www.footballfancast.com/2010/01/football-blogs/wes-brown-slide-trafford
Dr The Singh Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 I think its more like people putting 2 and 2 together and solving the JFK assassination, Amy Winehouses' drink problem, global warming, third world debt, the ending of Lost, unemployment and Adrian Chiles. Agreed, were more likely to find out that Adrian Chiles is my long lost twin then Wes Brown ever sharing the communal showers for Leicester!
RobHawk Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 You don't rate Wes Brown? Man, you're going to be difficult to please Did you read everything i wrote or just the 1st few words! I dont rate him! not as a international or even top rate defender! However he would be good in this league i do not doubt that! My main concern is would he really want it? Would he be up for the fight of the championship! would his heart be in it and would he have the passion all us fans crave? Im not sure!! Only Wesley can answer that one!
Mikey Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 There is no way people could complain if we signed Wes Brown, absolutely no way.
Matt Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Never really rated him too much, got knows how he's played for England, but he'd do a job in the championship no doubt.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 Please Bert do us all a favour and confirm that it is not Wes Brown you were on about so we can get back to normality before this becomes the new Emile Heskey (He's fooking shit / He's a fooking god) thread.
dandannieldanok Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 I've never rated him, but's that because he's been playing at Manchester United at the very highest level and simply hasn't quite been good enough for it. He'd be on easy street in this league though, more than good enough. If anyone thinks he'd struggle, then you're seriously overestimating the quality in this league.
Tilley Posted 11 October 2010 Posted 11 October 2010 It'd be a piece of cake for him in the Championship
