Asherz Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 i would take becks... owen tho since his liverpool days has constantly had injury after inury! dont get me wrong he is a class act and when he is fit he is a amazing stricker... but with his yoyo injurys maybe the cash could be better spent on a striker which could last more than a few games before being back on the table...
purpleronnie Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Surely no-one actually believes this could happen.
cambridgefox Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Cant believe Beckham is begging to come to Leicester and svens thinking about it I know we are being linked to everyone, but its just getting silly now, probably a throw away comment. Reporter"with your connections in football, would you like to see Beckham in a Leicester shirt" Sven"yes" Done deal then.I would love to eat my words however.
Stoneygate fox Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 hi guys,i never really comment on these `STORIES` but this surely will never happen.I feel were very lucky to get sven, even curtis davies so i cannot imagine to seeing beckam having a kick about on victoria park with his kids. But in all fairness it does show the potential that the new owners want to and can do so i say good luck to them.... Blue army !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
body102 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Would be nice to have someone who can actually take a decent free kick . As someone mentioned b4 why hasn't Abi had a bash at one . Not seen a decent free kick yet this season , maybe if the goal was in row z then waghorn may hit the target with one . It always seems to be the same players taking the waghorn , oakley or gallagher , they have all failed so give abi a go
Webbo Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Perhaps Sven has seen Abe's free kicks in training and hasn't been impressed?Sometimes the simplest solutions are the truth.
Geordie Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 actually that was Peter Taylor Actually that was The FA and their marketing department, just so happens Taylor was a one game caretaker coach at the time. Boy has he drawn that myth out.
Thracian Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Forgetting the guys wages, let's imagine for a moment Beckham's potential impact compared with, let's see:- Miguel Vitor Michael Lamey Franck Moussa Moreno, Leon Crmcic Amam Verma, Yuki Abe In fact, why not compare his impact and effect with the above seven all put together just to make it better worth thinking about ... Crosses, corners, free-kicks...Beckham brings something to any team, ancient as he is. Perhaps someone will enlighten me as to anything exceptional the rest have shown they'll give us? Seriously! If I've missed something I'll happily acknowledge the fact. Cos effect or impact is what it's all about at our level. We can get journeymen for free and from down any road but, from what I've seen so far, if those mentioned are representative of the much-needed Premiership quality players we're searching for, then I sure wouldn't want a bad day! And the League table seems to agree.
unreachable Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 much-needed Premiership quality players we're searching for We first need a team of Championship quality players. We can then think about the Premier League.
fox123 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I was on my way to Sainsburys (Fosse Park) earlier and saw a BMW X5 with the registration '7 VB'. Will upload the pic to Facebook soon - ironic eh!?
body102 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Perhaps Sven has seen Abe's free kicks in training and hasn't been impressed?Sometimes the simplest solutions are the truth. Maybe so , and maybe waggy , gally and oakley all bang them in right left and center in training but training is different to a match situation . Let the boy have a pop and see what happens
Koke Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I don't care how old Beckham is, I would love it if he came to Leicester. Remember how we laughed when we were linked with Sven - although I understand Beckham is a bigger coup than Sven.
Karljohn Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Becks at Leicester?! if anyone can make it happen its Sven. I never expected him to leave United, thinking he would be a servant like Giggs and Scholes, certainly didn't expect him to end up at LA Galaxy. Victoria sampling the delights of Fosse Park? There's probably more chance of her shopping in "bright house" but to even be linked with him is amazing for us I reckon. Come again!
ajthefox Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 anyone who wouldn't want Beckham and thinks that his age means it's not worth it is an absolute looney tune. Class is permanent, not to mention something that our older players such as oakley don't have. however, the article has nothing to it really. Sven even says "dreaming" of signing him. We may have made an approach a couple weeks ago, but that doesn't make it any more realistic. If this happened this would be one of the biggest signings in English football ever, and our biggest ever imo.
Petchy Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I was on my way to Sainsburys (Fosse Park) earlier and saw a BMW X5 with the registration '7 VB'. Will upload the pic to Facebook soon - ironic eh!? The old 'saw the license plate' card.. only this time, I hope your right
Guest Bilo Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I dream of a three-header with Cheryl Cole and Natalie Portman. Better get that flight to LA booked.
renards Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Mate at Central TV gave me story sometime ago, not what he would bring to the club its what he would do for king power in the far east
fox123 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 The old 'saw the license plate' card.. only this time, I hope your right It's on there - I don't know how to put it on here though. Granted I know it isn't the Victoria Beckham but this speculations fun and little things like that add fuel to the fire.
conradno1 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Play off final. Free kick. 85mins. 25 yards. Beckham. Bang. Dreamy. I'm off for a wank. with the way its going more like keep us up on the last day 85th min (but still would be a hero) if this craziness happens wich imo it wont
CupidStunt Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 The old 'saw the license plate' card.. only this time, I hope your right ,I doubt it, I dont think the beckhams will be driving around in a 3 year old BMW The enquiry is complete The vehicle details for 7 VB are: Date of Liability 01 02 2011 Date of First Registration 09 07 2007 Year of Manufacture 2007 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 2993CC CO2 Emissions 231g/Km Fuel Type Heavy Oil Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour BLACK
coale39 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I dream of a three-header with Cheryl Cole and Natalie Portman. Better get that flight to LA booked. The new Thai owners can make anything happen..
Callabinho Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Stringer has just spoken to a rep for Becks, 'flattered but no thanks'
Filbert_Ross Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I just cant see Beckham leaning on a wire mesh fence smoking a fag on Stevo Drive as Romeo leaves for school.
MrLuke Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Well the photo they have used says it all really, as the press will usually use an immage that links to the mood of a story (eg someone has signed a new deal, they'll show a photo of player celebrating / player has bad run of form, they will show a pic of player with head in hands etc.) The vibe i get from the photo would be "errr, thanks but no thanks".
