sirsvenalot Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 'Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson wants to sign LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham on loan as they look to boost their Premier League push' Says bbc football. Personally I wouldn't take him but who knows
jonthefox Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Absolutely no way. A complete waste of cash .

Corky Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Can't see what Beckham would gain from it really. Won't happen.
wurmer Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 'Leicester manager Sven-Goran Eriksson wants to sign LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham on loan as they look to boost their Premier League push' Says bbc football. Personally I wouldn't take him but who knows ..and they based this on an article in the people, which wouldn't surprise me if it was based on rumours on FT - so I looks like it's gone full circle. Beckham at Leicester - makes financial sense for the owners - doesn't make football sense at all.
Iwan is a Welshman Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 I'd love it if it happened. The man would've gone to the World Cup only 4months ago. We've by no means got the squad to turn away from such a player. Sven did give Becks the captaincy at England, they must get on and Becks likes to do something to keep fit in the MLS close season. The new owners must have a lot of cash.
Petchy Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Not sure how anyone can say this is a bad move? Will bring a lot of money into the club via Shirt sales etc and on the pitch, he will put in the performances. We desperately need a good set piece specialist. He might not be able to run down the wing but he doesn't need to seeing as he's so good crossing from deep etc.
Christoph Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Wont his wages be abit expensive for us though? He'll bring experience and good set peices and crosses which I think we've been missing out alot lately, still....wont happen

coale39 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Would be awesome, but will it acually happen? Doubt it.

Petchy Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Anythings possible with Leicester now. I'd of never in a million years thought Sven would be a manager... but here we are!
adam1 Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Leicester HAD made a very general enquiry about this. It was reported a couple of weeks ago. Sven then denied it to Stringer. Obviously there has been some sort of response since then or (as it might be) someone decided to redo the story with a different angle (lazy journalism).
purpleronnie Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Beckham to Leicester......Now thats funny.
Dylan Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Waste of money. His wages would be too high. Although he'd be useful with his delivery for the amount of corners we get.
Thracian Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 "Oh what a circus, what a show...." On the other hand we have Oakley taking free-kicks and Sheehan's been sent off again! I remember Cloughie using Alan Hinton to great effect doing little more than delivering inch-perfect crosses from the wing and a few fizzing set-pieces. What are the options in that position? Not a lot! Cost effective? Probably in terms of merchandising/publicity/profile/credibility etc. Just wondered if Boris Johnson plays football!

StanSP Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 We might as well just sign everyone that Sven has been associated with in his history.
Narborough_fox Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 We might as well just sign everyone that Sven has been associated with in his history. That means... HESKEY
Trav Le Bleu Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 When I saw this I thought it was about yet another new sponsor.
Callabinho Posted 24 October 2010 Posted 24 October 2010 Bert will settle this, he mentioned this on another topic!
