lcfc_jme Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Kasey Keller is probably my favourite ever Leicester player, bizarre really seeing as I've never been a goalkeeper in my life. I actually loved the guy. Special mentions go out to Scott Taylor, Steve Guppy, Muzzy Izzet, Andy Impey, Elvis Hammond and Mark de Vries, as well. Andy King, provided he sticks with us for a short while longer, will no doubt end up with a place on that list.
StanSP Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Only one person came immediately to mind (and then others soon followed...). Muzzy Izzet. I just loved everything about his game and was gutted when he left. He scored some cracking goals and was the core of our side in our most successful time as a club (in my opinion). He had so much energy, charisma, enthusiasm and my favourite goal was the overhead kick from about 18 yards out from Impey's cross. And I have a picture with him which I vow never to give away!
Webbo Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Have to say neil lennon, always did it simple, mopped up everything, always available to whoever was in possession. Completely committed to the cause. A lot of others worth a mention! I'd agree with that.
wakeyfox01 Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 It's got to be Muzzy Izzett for me, I'm still awestruck whenever I see that overhead kick at Grimsby! Followed closely by Heskey, Elliott and Tim Flowers
Edmund Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Impossible to choose from as that team under MON was a solid work unit who played for one another. But if I had to choose one it would be Tony Cottee. What a dappa. And a special mention to Stan Collymore for providing me with best city game I'm yet to witness.
foxoffderby Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 I loved tommy wright as a kid great winger with 2 good feet. Kevin rooster russell for the impact play the best super sub ever. But it has to be steve walsh mr Leicester city
Alpha Gifts & Awards Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Not sure I have just one favourite. So, since '78, my team would be: - Wallington Kaamark Elliott Walsh Rofe Weller Izzet Gary Mac Guppy Lineker Heskey Subs: Tim Flowers, Alan Smith, Steve Lynex, Neil Lennon, Joachim, Gary Mills, Paul Ramsey WHAT A FECKING TEAM!!!! Not thought too much about defensive tactics, else might swap in NL! ps I loved Jim Melrose, Gerry Taggart, and so, so many more. Not included the one season wonders, but the 3 season or more group.
Walkers Wench Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 David Nish more recently Matt Elliott (who i named my son after!, well couldnt call him Nish!) Did you know David Nish is a milkman now? I work with his ex-wife.
Edmund Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 David Nish has a undefeated record as Leicester manager.

Champ Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 I can't believe there's only a few mentions for Stevie Walsh. The mans a legend!
kimsalabim Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Steve Walsh and Muzzy Izzet. Others include Kaamark, Grayson, Ferdinand and Dickov. (I could list another ten) But one from the current team would be Big Steve... Always plays for the shirt even if not the most skilled.
Wymsey Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Should we have a thread for the worst players we ever had. That would be a debate...........
kimsalabim Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Should we have a thread for the worst players we ever had. That would be a debate........... Yep. I'll start... Paddy McCarthy. Shite.
Wymsey Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Davie Gibson. Worst/Best player? Worst one just started on here
CosbehFox Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Joachim, Claridge, Taggart, Izzet for me. Rooster I was brought up to appreciate with special cult hero status. However, I watch the games back now and realise how brilliant Lennon was. Very intelligent. If was as older as I am now, as I was then...he'd have been my main man. I am also very proud to have tackled Muzzy and left him on the deck. Then went up to him and said 'you alright Muz?'
StanSP Posted 25 October 2010 Posted 25 October 2010 Don't start a worst player thread. There's plenty around already!
