LCFC-Sam Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Carl Ikeme has indicated to Leicester City that he wants a future at the club. The 24-year-old Wolves keeper has spent two months on loan at City after being frustrated by his lack of regular opportunities at Molineux. The second month of his loan deal expired this week and City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has to decide whether to extend the stay to a third month. Ikeme, who is currently injured, has suggested he wants a further stay to boost his bid for a regular spot. He made five appearances for City after first-choice man Chris Weale picked up a shoulder injury. Eriksson watched Weale's No.2, Conrad Logan, gift West Brom with a goal during Tuesday night's Carling Cup defeat. The former England manager said there "was no point accusing him" when asked to comment on Logan's blunder. Eriksson, meanwhile, remains keen on West Brom striker Ishmael Miller, but appears to have competition. Miller, who went on as a second-half substitute for the Baggies against City, is a known target for Eriksson, who said he would speak to West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo about his availability. West Brom assistant manager Eddie Newton said there was nothing new to report on Tuesday night, but Eriksson may follow up his interest today. Nottingham Forest, Swansea and Ipswich have also been linked with Miller.

Alf Bentley Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Ikeme "wants future at club"? Try Walsall or Kidderminster, mate. If you don't fancy that, maybe you could become a DJ or a bouncer?

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I know Logan made one big mistake vs WBA, which cost us dearly, but Ikeme is much worse IMO. Hope he doesnt come back, just because he isnt good enough.
Geordie Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 20 goals vs 8 goals. 0 points vs 7 points fat and rubbish vs skinny and not as rubbish I wouldn't want either but one is defenitely better than the other.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Well he's better than Logan and would make a decent number 3 behind Weale and a new keeper. This indicates he probably wouldn't want to come here as third choice keeper: he 24-year-old Wolves keeper has spent two months on loan at City after being frustrated by his lack of regular opportunities at Molineux.
MPH Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Carl Ikeme or Chris Kirkland. Hmmm... tough choice...
Guest Bilo Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I think it's probably time Logan moved on for all parties involved, but there's been little to show Ikeme is the answer. New keep methinks.
Mack Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 He could do the urinals on match days? Sweep the car park after the game for a little bonus!
Wymsey Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 He could do the urinals on match days? Sweep the car park after the game for a little bonus! Sort out the bloody traffic problems after the match!!! I welcome him to be a traffic controller.
acooling08 Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 I always thought he should claim more in the box, but in his last game for us I thought he was much improved.
Adster Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Carl Ikeme or Chris Kirkland. Hmmm... tough choice... this might be a bit off topic, but i couldnt help but watch your signature like 20 times lol
Simmo86 Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 IMO no worse than Logan or Weale on this season form
Wymsey Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Ikeme is a bit slow to be fair. What would happen if an opposition's striker was through on goal, i don't think he would react quick enough, we just looks too stodgy to be a good reactive keeper like Weale.

I personally would go with Weale, but Ikeme gets some serious bashing on here. But apart from Naylors (which I doubt any of them would have saved) goal I cant really think of a mistake he's made. His distribution is a bit shite, but shot stopping wise he's decent. Any shot from distance with Weale and Logan, I pap myself!
Webbo Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 IMO no worse than Logan or Weale on this season form Agreed. I really don't know where this hostility comes from. Adequate if not brilliant.
Kitchandro Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 All 3 goalkeepers have made mistakes this season. Sorry but Ikeme should not have let that one v Cardiff go in. Logan's v WBA was shocking but I can't remember him making too many errors in his time with us. I think he's decent. Weale has let a couple slip through but he's still the best goalkeeper we have. I blame the defence for most of our goals though.

Obviously the Logan error as well as being unfortunate enough to have been in goal against Portsmouth. And Weale should imo have saved Koren's goal for Hull against us. But there is no doubt the order is and should be... Weale > Logan > Ikeme.

Matt Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Ikeme > Logan, and no it isn't based on Tuesday night, never feel confident with Logan in goal, Ikeme isn't much better but feel slightly more confident with Ikeme, feel we should be looking at better but as said he's better than Logan.
Jay Posted 28 October 2010 Posted 28 October 2010 Ikeme is a terrible terrible keeper can't kick to save his life and never ever seems confident in picking the ball up, always looks like he is going to make a mistake. I thought we had got rid of him and then he returns
